We were there for Sunday brunch about 2 weeks ago. What a deal! Less than $20 for nice brunch with a small beer (ca. 10 oz) or mimosa. I would skip the Chorizo skillet (pretty spicy and a bit greasy), but all the other brunch options got great reviews from our large party of 12. I go to Ohso Gilbert just about 4-6 times a week. Familiar with staff. Love the food and the drinks. However management decided to cut me off after two drinks, with no explanation and with no communication.. bartenders were super apologetic (Jay). I was really confused and upset with how the situation was treated. I am a greater tipper and have never had an issue with staff before.. well I will never be back. Because of the poor tactics management took.. Also one of their bartenders I have confirmed tested positive for covid. And I'm ready to write more reviews if something isn't done. It's hard to give this restaurant/brewery anything but five stars. All the food is delicious (try the crab wontons, mac and cheese, or any hamburger), the drink prices can't be beat, and the servers are wonderful. Kalista came by my table to check in and just chat multiple times today. Made me feel right at home. If there is a more relaxing atmosphere in Phoenix I have yet to find it. read more

I started my search for dinner too late. Nothing around me was open. So I headed to downtown Gilbert. I ended up at the OHSO brewery because it had a giant open sign. The inside of the "restaurant" was "eclectic". Particle board tables, giant fans, weird chandeliers, bikes on the wall, some large TVs and a big bar in the center. When I walked in I wasn't help immediately. I finally walked up to the bar and she said I could sit anywhere. I noticed later a small sign that said "Grab a Seat". I asked the waitress what was the best thing on the menu and she was surprised like she had never been asked that question before. After a few more questions I ordered the Brisket Mac. The Brisket Mac was good. Life changing?? No, but decent. I am not a dessert guy usually, but the Mac didn't fill me up so I decided to get the Carmel Apple Pie. This thing was awesome. Highly recommended. I'm not a drinker so I can't speak to the drinks, but the people around me seem to enjoy them. It is worth stopping by OH SO and giving it a try. read more

This place has an amazing ambience and chill atmosphere where your doggies can come to which is makes this place super attractive. The people and customer service is also amazing. We also got a beer which I forgot to take a picture of but it was also amazing. The food was good, I got the green chili pork which was sweet and savory. The pork was tender and the rice was chewy. Pretty rude service. Came in, took our seats. Waitress really wasn't in the mood, it was pretty obvious right away. It wasn't even that busy. Asked what we wanted, and I asked for a beer, and she asked for my ID. I show it to her. I'm in the military so I have a California drivers license but the address on it is my home of record (Chandler, AZ). She takes a quick look at it and says, "it's an Arizona address on a California license, I can't take this," and without even waiting for my response she quickly turns her back to me and faces my friend and asks what she wants. Everyone at the table thought it was rude, obviously so my friend doesn't say anything which gave me the opportunity to grab her attention again. I explain to her that the address on my license is an Arizona address because I am in the military and the address is my home of record, and if she wants instead to see my Military ID and use that instead to verify my date of birth. She says, "OK." She takes my ID then proceeds to take everyone elses order. When she's done she says to me, "I'm gonna take these (referring to both of my ID cards) to the back to verify with my manager." I say fine. After a few minutes the manager comes out, young guy, clearly younger than me, and says, "hey man, I gotta say, I've never seen anything like this before, so unfortunately I can't serve you alcohol." I repeat my explanation that I gave to the waitress to him, and he repeats what he says, "yeah unfortunately this is just really odd and I've never seen an CA ID with an AZ address." So I ask him, "well you have my military ID, my date of birth is on the back of that, can you just use that?" Manager says, "I could, but unfortunately I've already seen your license," which he presumes is fake. All in a all, it was an illogical exchange, seems to me that should be their problem that they don't understand the home of record on license protocol and not mine. Considering you're a brewery I'd expect your staff to be well informed on that kind of stuff. Not just well informed, I'd expect them to be experts. I mean you're a brewery before you're a restaurant. Drank at the Phoenix location years ago, beer is average, it was good at the time when all AZ had was OHSO, SANTAN, and FOUR PEAKS, but with spots like Wren House, and AZ Wilderness, it doesn't hurt me to not ever drink here again. Constructive criticism for you; conduct more training on identification cards, because in your line of business I'd say it's important. Probably need to conduct more "Stress management" training, seeing as your waitress was pretty overwhelmed with such a small crowd. If she wasn't then hire more customer service oriented waitresses. read more

I had been going to the OHSO location in Scottsdale but realized that the Gilbert one is actually closer to my house! What a way set up, with huge ceilings and fun bike art to look at all around. I took my parents here during a visit, hoping it was just as good as the Scottsdale locations Sunday brunch. Of course it was. Everyone loved their choices, paired with one of the OHSO beers (mom got the mimosa) and I branched on from the breakfast bowl to the breakfast wrap (and held the back). So good! The wrap is a lot of food. Since it was my birthday, we also splurged on the donut bites - so good! My next goal is to bike here. The first time my husband and I visited OHSO in Gilbert for dinner was a couple of years ago. We had a waitress who clearly hated her job. She took our food order and we never saw her again until she brought us our bill. The food was good, the service obviously lacking (and it wasn't busy).--It was disappointing as we had previously had a fun time at the location in Scottsdale. This past Saturday night (March 5th) we decided to give OHSO in Gilbert another shot as we were out with a group of 6 friends who were visiting from out of town. We had an hour and a half wait for a table, but this was the shortest wait of the 3 different downtown Gilbert restaurants we had looked into. After waiting outside for our table to become available, we had a wonderful waitress. (I wish I remembered her name.-She was so nice!) We ordered one round of beverages and an entree. Two people in our party ordered spicy Bloody Mary's. Unfortunately, both said they were not at all spicy. My husband and I both ordered burgers and had the cheese curd app. The curds weren't bad, but were better the first time we visited. Perhaps they've changed how they are breaded since then? My husband ordered the Green Chile Burger and I ordered the Burger and Cheese, cooked "no pink" (they ask specifically) with no tomato and also requested the OHSO sauce be put on the side. When the food came out, I was served his Green Chile Burger (I took a bite not knowing; but I will say the burger was good!) We switched our plates only to discover that my burger had tomato (which is easy enough to take off) but also the OHSO sauce right on the burger...which I did not care for, at all. My burger was also pink (actually totally red in the middle). I was starving after waiting an hour and a half to eat, so ate what I could. My girlfriend also ordered the Green Chile Burger, only hers was not served until the rest of us had already finished eating as the staff had accidentally dropped it on the floor, so it had to be remade. They did come out and apologize. When her burger was finally served she was only able to eat part of it as she said it was "ice cold" in the middle. There is a fun selection of beers (we paid for an extra one as my friend's beer got put on our tab), and I love that the restaurant is dog-friendly. But the drinks were hit and miss, and the food was hit and miss on this visit. In their defense, we did have a party of 8 which I know is a lot, but if that's too overwhelming they shouldn't allow a table of 8. My husband and I would be willing to give it another shot when it's not so busy (i.e. NOT a Saturday evening!) so that the kitchen is actually paying attention to what they are doing. Also, not OHSO's fault at all, but they should be aware...2 of our friends left to drive to their AirBNB from the restaurant. They were sober. They were pulled over one block away, and even though the driver blew a 0 on a breathalyzer, he still had to do a field sobriety test by the Gilbert PD. The passenger, who had only had 1 drink ALL night, was accused of being "tipsy" also. (Both were eventually allowed to go after being pulled over for virtually no reason.) Not sure if OHSO or any of the DT restaurants are aware of this apparent harassment by the PD, but it will REALLY hurt their business if this continues. I 100% support our police, but not when they overstep their bounds like they did on Saturday. I doubt our friends will ever come back to Gilbert. read more

OHSO Gilbert is located in charming downtown Gilbert. I'm not much of a beer drinker but they have a large selection of brews for people that are. Their weekend brunch is quite a deal. Buy one of the selected entrees and receive a 10 oz beer or mimosa with your meal. I started with the donut holes which are amazing! Served piping hot with melted chocolate on top, they are very yummy! I had the biscuits & gravy which was so-so. The gravy was beer gravy and not like traditional sausage gravy. The biscuits were hard around the edges. However, the Bloody Mary was very good. read more

Updated review. I am glad we gave this place a second chance and went back this past weekend. It is a bit confusing if you seat yourself or wait for a host when you walk in so we decided to just head to the bar for some drinks and food. The bartender was friendly and did the best she could to serve the crowd by herself. We decided to order a couple of beers. All amazing. Absolutely loved the mimosa kombucha and the banana foster. We were a bit hesitant about the food and decided to just split a burger this time as we were not too hungry. We went for the bbq burger. What a lovely surprise it was served split on two plates which always makes it easier to share and no fighting over the fries a portion, love this. The burger was cooked how it was ordered and lacked no flavor or juicy toppings like crispy onions, cheese, and bacon. Fries were also good and served with ranch. Overall, a much better experience and will be giving it a third try soon. read more

Rolled up to OHSO last Sunday 07/27. It was a warm day, but decided to sit outside close to the wall where all the adorable pup photos were hanging. The lady and I had a some cocktails and an appetizer. "The Mule" was pretty tasty! The Brewer's Board was pretty stellar as well. Keegan upsold us on getting some additional cheese which was worth it. Keegan was a great server! I enjoyed his attentiveness, personality, and professionalism.
