They seem to do a pretty decent job with the oil change. Be careful on what they recommend for your vehicle, though. As another review mentioned, they tell you that your vehicle is due for X Y Z without really explaining why the service has to be done. It's an up-sell technique that they are trying to use to rip you off. Went in for an oil change on 6/4/2019. After 10 mins of driving, my transmission seized in the middle of the freeway. I initially thought this shop did something to my transmission...(maybe drained the wrong fluid or something). Called them, they came out to my house and redid the oil change from free and did their best to diagnose the issue, but was unsuccessful, I wasn't expecting them to find issue since they only do oil changes...I took my car to the dealership and they determined that the issue had nothing to do with oil change. Still, Oil Changers did try their best to fix my issue at my house in Oakland. Great job on the customer service!!! read more

Had the best service I ever experienced thanks to Jose! I first went to Jiffy Lube to get my oil changed, but the price was way too expensive for European cars. It was a blessing in disguise because not only was the price much more affordable, but the service was incredible. Jose was personable, honest, and efficient. He had a lot of knowledge and answered any questions I had, giving good and honest recommendations for what my car needed. I really appreciated that he was not pushy with any add-on services, which is what I have experienced with a few other businesses. Came at lunch on a Sunday. Totally not busy at this particular time so I'm not sure how they are during busy hours, but the service I got today was totes 5 stars. All in all they took about ten minutes for the oil change. During this time they also inspected other shit and filled my tires with air and such blah blah. Only thing they "sold" me was a new air filter. They took mine out though so I could see how dirty it was . Normally I wouldn't wanna pay the labor to have someone switch an air filter but they gave a super fat discount on the normally $15 procedure plus I am lazy enough that I agreed. They also gave me a headsup about my extremely balding tires and that my right headlight was out. read more

First attempt: Went for an oil change on a Saturday. Price was $103 after a $7 online coupon was applied. They realized they didn't have the oil filter for my SUV after 10 minutes in the bay. I was told to come back Tuesday the following week when the oil filter would be there. I was told that I would get an additional discount die to the inconvenience. Second attempt: Arrived Tuesday and after waiting for my turn (approximately 20 minutes) I was told that the they did not receive the oil filter for my SUV and to come back Saturday. I was quoted $98 by the manager and was told thatvi would get an additional discount for the inconvenience of having to come back a third time. Third attempt: I told the the assistant manager Carlos the story of the missing oil filter and he told me the best he could do was $100. I was told by him this was the best he could do. He acted rather nonchalant and really didn't care about what his team had previously quoted me not all of my water time. Poor customer service at best. Needless to say I was disappointed and won't be using Oil Changers again. read more

I have been coming here for about 4 years now. I have serviced 3 or more vehicles at this particular location. I have always received very friendly service, never have felt pressured to get additional products or services. I love oil changers, the simplistic idea of being able to stay in my vehicle while I wait. I think even on the busiest day, (maybe 2 cars ahead) I still never waited more than 30 minutes. I used to service my vehicles on my 45 minute lunch and was never late. Now that I have kids I am even more inclined to visit any oil changers. What a great idea. You pull in and sit in your car while 2 mechanics change your oil and filters. I went to other places and had to get out of my car and sit in dirty shop for 20-30 min. The only problem here is they never have my air filter and I have to come back a week later to get new filter. That's a bit disappointing. This happened 2x now :( I loved the fact I checked in on Yelp just now and got $5 off from my total bill and they topped off my fluids, filled tires and checked other small items. IF YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING THE RIGHT THING BY TAKING YOUR CAR HERE FOR AN OIL CHANGE, BE CAREFUL. I moved down to the bay area last year and started using this Oil Changers as my regular place for car maintenance. I've gotten my oil changed here every 3 months, coolant and transmission flush, and my serpentine belt replaced. I was really happy with this place. However, my last oil change here was a complete mistake that I now have to live with and am very disappointed in the way Oil Changers handled the situation. Two weeks after my oil change, I was driving along the freeway and noticed my car losing power and making a rattling sound. I pulled over and tried to restart my car. It wouldn't turn over at all. I had a tow truck tow my car to the closest Toyota dealership, which later told me that there was no oil in the motor and that they found motor oil in the transmission instead. My motor had seized up. The cap and filter were on and there were no cracks. I contacted my insurance and Oil Changers who both sent reps out to go verify that this was true. Of course, Oil Changers is denying they had anything to do with this. They don't know why there was engine oil in the transmission, but they confirmed there was. Let me say, this is the only place to touch anything under my hood for nearly a year and I had them do a transmission flush 6 months prior. I got the video tape from Oil Changers and of course it's too dark and blurry to tell where their guy put the oil, but it does show they never checked the dip stick to make sure there was oil. I also understand that two weeks is a long time to go without oil, but I have had another mechanic look at the tape and say it seemed like it wasn't drained long enough. It's clear this is Oil Changer's mistake, but they don't want to own up to it. Anyway... My insurance totaled my car when I was just about to pay off my auto loan. Now I am starting all over again with a new car loan. THANKS OIL CHANGERS. read more

Not only do these guys change your oil quickly (with you still in the car), they're also genuine people. I never feel like I'm being ripped off which is saying a lot for an oil changer. When it was time to change my air filter they showed me the dirty one before asking me if I wanted to replace it, which I've never had happen before. They're also amazing people. A few days ago my tire popped, it was close to their closing time and the district manager Amani stayed after 7 and changed my tire to the spare for me. I know that's not a service they provide but they helped me anyways. I have never had a tire blow up on me before and I was scared and I didn't know where to go. Without me driving all the way in there and have him look at my truck and then he can take oh it takes this one or that one. Sounds like a pretty lame system that he can't plug in some numbers and look on the shelf and see if he has a fuel filter to fit my truck. everywhere else in the world that you call can look and see if they have one that fits your truck or not except apparently this business. I didn't get what he was explaining, and he proceeded to belittle me because "i'm explaining things as clear as possible and you're just not understanding" and "you have an attitude problem, I explained everything you just don't get it." all with a smug "you're an idiot" look on his face GET A FREAKING CLUE. No hello or greeting. Ask him what options I have. Upsells me the highest grade of oil. Continued attitude in our conversation. If I could give no or negative stars I would give 5 minus stars. Went in near closing time and you'd have thought I insulted their mothers. Several of the guys there were dropping the best eff bombs they could muster and made audible comments indicating how upset they were that I arrived so near closing time. One employee, youngish with lots of tats, went so far to tell me to try to make it in before closing time (5pm on Sundays) should I come in again. I asked what time closing was (knowing that I arrived 5 to 5pm) and he replied 5. I told him I didn't realize I'd be putting the entire staff out seeing as how I arrived before 5 and it was now 5:03. Got nothing but evil eye from him for that. Then he sighed, looked away and said that I could come in and get my fluid topped off if I need to. The employee down below who had been draining the oil and replacing the oil pan nut then said "Yeah, but only during business hours!" It was quite shocking to see it all, especially because my 6 year old son was with me, and confused about the whole thing: "Why are they using bad words, Daddy?" What happened to the times when the customer mattered and was valued? Is arriving 5 minutes before closing time cause for these guys to start cursing and violently throwing brooms around? At the very least, having 2/3 of the employees verbally (albeit done with the tact of a tenured passive aggressive whiner) berate a customer is something that the management there shouldn't tolerate. Won't be going back there ever again. Worst experience I've ever had at one of these places in my entire life. I'm also following up this post with a call to the manager, however, given the hiring selections I'm not putting much faith in my feedback falling on receptive ears. read more
