What a surprisingly great experience. I've been looking for an oil change with good value and timely service for awhile here in Poway. I found it. Called for a quote the night before. It was reasonable. Asked for appointment but was told first come first serve and 10:00 not so busy. Ok I show up and told to drive vehicle on to pit, stay in vehicle. What? Sat in vehicle 15 minutes while crew changed oil and filter, checked all fluid levels, checked tires, lights leaks. Wow these guys were efficient. Super respectful, answered all my questions and with no pressure gave me list of maintenance to does. After all that they even took my coupon. I was having my car serviced by a group in San Marcos (work) and they were absolutely the worst! I live in Poway, so I decide to try Oil Changers. Bottom line. These guys are awesome. Johnny and his team get your car in and out in short order. I got my oil changed yeterday and they didn't have my filter. Johnny (the owner) hops in his car, goes and buys one and has me back on the road in less than 20 minutes. Turns out Johnny's a proud veteran of the 18th Airborne Corp at Fort Bragg NC. Ive been pushing off getting an oil change for a couole of weeks now, and just happened to stumble upon this place while driving by. The man on the corner who was spinning the sign caught our attention. We drove up to the oil change, they took out my engine filter and the air conditioning filter (which were filthy) and suggested that we replace them so we did. They were really friendly and not too pushy. The oil change came with a free exterior car wash. We walked around target for 40 minutes and when we returned, the car was already spotless and parked nearby. The sticker on the windshield for the oil change also includes $10 off the next oil change! The people here are extremely friendly and accomodating. I will definitely be back. read more

After reading many Yelp reviews of the big chain oil change businesses, I settled on Oil Changers in Poway and despite only 2 reviews on Yelp, I decided since they were both positive to take a chance. I'm glad I did. As soon as I pulled up, I was greeted by a clean cut, polite and friendly technician who quoted me their standard $35 price for a full service oil change and immeidately confirmed they would be glad to honor the $5 off Yelp coupon. They didn't even make me show it to them on my phone, they just took my word for it. I had my wife and baby in the car, they said we didn't even need to get out, that they'd been done in less than 15 minutes if we wanted to stay in the car. Sure enough in less than 15 minutes they were done. Checked all my levels, topped off and 5 quarts of oil and new filter. They also have a great top off policy that if you go low on any fluids before your next change, oil, washer, or otherwise, they will top you off at no charge and also check your air pressure anytime. The shop itself is very clean and it seems the owners make sure to hire technicians with efficient skills but also pleasant dispositions and manners! I will definitely be back here for all my future oil changes and highly recommend them. read more

This place is great! They are concerned about your car and it's safety as well as being super duper friendly. I am literally sitting in my car while they change my oil right now. Just like other places, they offer other services for your car, but I never felt pressured or backed into a corner to get the extra services. The technicians work together GREAT! They communicate with each other throughout the process and it keeps things going smooth and fast. They also seem like they are having fun while they are working... I have been consistently impressed by the service here. Quick, inexpensive, competent, and honest. I was particularly impressed by their practice of calling out loud their closing checklists: "bay 1, oil cap on! Dip stick in place!" Etc... I've been places that have missed things like that, and that practice gives me reason to believe that this shop is much less likely to do so. Changed to 4 stars.. Oil Changers rectified the situation quickly. Understandible mistake Just sat in line for 30 minutes. My turn comes up.. I pull up and they tell me "sorry that guy in the other line was here before you". So I had to pull through so the other car could change lines and take my spot. What? Since when is that how lines work? Then when I pull behind the other line, the guy tells me it's gonna be another 25 minutes because he's doing a transmission. Nice.. not a good first impression. I brag about how great these guys are. I used to change my own oil. Never again! It would take me half an hour to 45 minutes. Now I just drive my car down the street. No appointment needed! I brought my car in for an oil change/maintenance checks needed for 20k miles. Came in on a Saturday afternoon and the place was empty. We were greeted by two friendly gentlemen who promptly gave us a break-down of the services and pricing. We waited 15 minutes while they serviced my car. If you need an oil change, come here. There is nowhere else worth going. This one is better than the one in El Cajon, but they're both better than pretty much anywhere else you can go. It's a drive-thru oil change. I've never experienced anything like it before. Smart staff that inform you but don't pressure you to purchase other services. I've been to two other places for checkups/repairs recently and nobody told me I should get my power steering fluid changed except for these guys - steering felt 100% better after they changed it! I don't always do reviews however, this one is overdue and needs to be recognized for the amazing service back in July 2021 and I was reminded today, to do just that. I have not had the best experience at previous oil change sites when they felt salesish with some pressure to add on additional services, and I would leave feeling my car was in worse shape than before. However, Kelly's phenomenal service with clear, friendly, professional, and very KNOWLEDGEABLE language in July 2021, was anything but that! I appreciated his expertise and genuine guidance, which put my mind at ease without pressure to understand what needed to be prioritized with my car's radiator flush and oil change. He was patient and broke down the reason as I asked my questions since I don't know cars well. I just recently moved to San Diego from Texas and needed to find a spot for an oil change. I was driving down Poway Rd looking for any spot when I stumbled upon Oil Changers. Ty and Devin were the guys who took care of me and they did phenomenal job. I've never been one to be car savvy so I had Ty walk me through the process of what he was doing. I learned about parts on my car that I didn't even know about. Watching both Ty and Devin hustle and tag-team the two cars simultaneously was pretty impressive. Unbelievably terrible customer service. Brought in my car this morning for an oil change. First guy I talked with was very short and rude, but I let it go and continued with the service. The next guy opens the hood then asks for the mileage, but my car doesn't let you see the mileage with the hood open, so I asked them to please close the hood and the first guy try's to ignore me, then after I tell him again louder, he tells me to cycle thru the buttons on the steering wheel. I obliged. Nothing happened. I asked to close the hood again and they both ignored me again, finally guy number 2 comes to the driver window and barehanded REACHES into my car.... these are freaking Covid times, just unbelievable! He then realizes the buttons aren't going to do anything and decides to leave the hood mats in the hood while he attempts to shove the hood closed with them in it. Seriously?!! Still nothing. Finally he angrily opens the hood, rips out the hood mats, slams the hood as hard as he can and says try it now. The mileage of course shows up instantly, but by this point I'm amazed at how shit this service has been and decided to tell them to fuck right off. I will never be back and if you're a first timer reading this, you too should save your time and find another oil changer. read more

I am sure this place does great business. In fact, that is why I went here. I saw the great reviews and figured I can get my oil change done and get it crossed off my to do list today. Prior to going, I called to confirm if they change oil for my car and after checking their system, they said that they do. I even made sure I asked if they have the filter in stock and they said that they always carry that type in stock at all times. Everything seems to be going great. I get there about 10 minutes later and I am the only customer since it is mid morning and a weekday as well. One guy instructed me to pull into the stall, and another took my information. Everything was going great. I figured I would be out of there in 10-15 minutes tops. After 5 minutes, I was approached by one guy who said that they cannot do the oil change since they are out of the oil filter that is required for my car. I was a little surprised and disappointed since I called prior and asked if they had it. He apologized and even offered a suggestion for me to go down the street and buy a filter from a parts store, and they will be able to complete the service. I asked the manager if the price would be reduced since I have to go get the filter and I was willing to come back. To my surprise, the manager said that the price will be the same. I tried to make the case that I had called to confirm if they had it, and they didn't, and I was willing to go to the store and come back to give them the business. I was not asking for additional discount. I was just expecting that they would at least discount or take out the price that I would pay for buying the filter on my own. The answer was still NO. His response to me was that "I do not own the company I just manage it". I did not argue and I thanked them for their time. I got in my car and drove off. I ended up going to Evens Tire down the street and they gave me great service and even offered a discount without me pushing for it. To be fair, they did cleaned the windows and made sure my air on my tires were good. The facility was very clean and the people were not rude or unprofessional. I was just turned off by the lack of flexibility with their policy to accommodate customers who are not asking for anything unreasonable and was even willing to continue doing business with them. Instead they lost 1 customer and got 1 bad review from yelp. Well, that's just way things go sometimes. read more

Awesome great experience!!! Was helped by Ty and he was probably one of the nicest people ever which is super important to me! Had to wait a bit to be helped but that's never a problem for me as that just makes me think they really are taking their time with each vehicle. Actual service was very quick and easy! Ty was very communicative and honest about everything, and he also changed my cabin air filter after the oil was changed! They even clean your window for you and check a bunch of the extra car details! Sat in my car while everything was getting done for probably 10 minutes or so. Not long at all!
