Was good. Tasty meats, yummy cole slaw. Feel like it's a bit overpriced. Glad they had picnic tables outside. Service was good. Friendly.

Absolutely Incredible ‼ I ended up taking a quick lunch and walking around and most of the places were jampacked on the main road and this is somewhat opposite where target is on the one street there's a little walkway going up in. I decided to take a look as all of the picnic benches outside were filled so they must be doing something right. I got the three little pigs sandwich and it is filled with meat and full of flavor and the roll was toasted to perfection. They have so many sandwich options and all of their meats are made in house along with all of their different spreads and coleslaw and so forth. The staff is working very hard because they're busy of course but they are very helpful if you have any questions. The inside is very clean and well presented and well decorated. It was really unique to have a whole case of all different kinds of sodas and other drink drinks and then they have a long wall with all different kinds of chips and snacks to accompany your sandwich. What a hidden gem ! I do highly recommend stopping here for a sandwich without a doubt !

I was craving a sandwich and saw this spot pop up in SoMA so I knew I had to stop by. They have a selection of signature sandwiches or you can build your own as well. I opted for the Three Little Pigs with their housemade roast pork, porkstrami, bacon, smoked gouda, sweet bacon jam, and pickled jalapeños. For the sandwiches you can choose to get it hot with coleslaw or cold with arugula, tomato and vinaigrette. Loved loved this sandwich - the variety of pork cuts added a ton of flavor and textures and the roast pork especially was delicious. The pickles, red onions and gouda cheese added a nice crunch and spice to the sandwich and it 100% satisfied my deli sandwich craving. The portion is large as well and I end up sharing the sandwich with a friend since I was full after eating half. The store is super cute and has a old school vintage vibe inside. There's a variety of sodas, snacks, and sweets to grab with your sandwich and this spot definitely feels like a hidden gem in the touristy downtown area! As a bonus they give out a raffle ticket with every sandwich and they draw a winner every Monday for a complimentary sandwich!

I found this place on DoorDash and decided to give it a try because of the high ratings. From what I can tell, they specialize in porkstrami, which is their house take on pastrami made with smoked pork butt instead of brisket. It seems like most of their sandwiches feature it in some way. I ordered the 1962 on Dutch crunch, and it was really good. What stood out to me was how well the sandwich was constructed since everything stayed together neatly, which isn't always the case with stacked sandwiches like this. The Dutch crunch bread had the perfect crisp and didn't get soggy, even with all the fillings. I'd definitely order this again. A fun extra touch is that the sandwich comes with a wet napkin and a raffle ticket. They're supposed to raffle off a free sandwich every Monday and post the winning number on their Instagram story. I haven't personally seen any winners announced yet, so I'm not sure how regularly they're doing it, but it's still a cool idea. Overall, a delicious sandwich spot with a unique twist on pastrami. I'd definitely order from here again.

Hands down one of my favorite restaurants to visit near the matreon! Their sandwich options are very customizable and there is a preserved feeling from the atmosphere. The hot pastrami options and Dutch crunch are my go to. The hot sandwiches are amazing. They're packed well and they include a raffle ticket for their weekly raffle! Oink & Oscar also sells hard to find candy and sodas. There are stand up tables inside and proper bench tables outside. Pricing is expected, or about $15-$20 per sandwich depending on the build.

Three Little Pigs was bomb

Wow. I read about this place and saw some reviews, but they do not give this justice. I was very impressed. I mean VERY impressed with the food. This was one of few places that I wanted to verbally thank the person who prepared it for being so delicious. I asked the staff what they recommended and I went with their top two choices. Their staff was wonderful and very helpful. I ordered the "hot" version of the Three Little Pigs and the "cold" version of the Anglin Stack. "Hot" sandwiches come on a Dutch crunch roll and creamy cole slaw. "Cold" sandwiches come on soft sourdough roll with fresh arugula, red onion, tomatoes, and a splash of vinaigrette. You can also request it to be "stacked lighter" where they gut out the bread and add more arugula, but I went for the regular options. The hot Three Little Pigs is their house-made Roast Pork and Porkstrami, bacon, smoked gouda, sweet bacon jam and pickled jalapenos. Don't forget that "hot" added coleslaw to it as well. This sandwich was phenomenal. This sandwich is like a 1A/1B battle with Deli Board for me. When I ate it, I literally wanted to express how much I loved it to the sandwich maker. This sandwich received an A++ grade for my standards. The cold Anglin Stack was great as well. House-made Porkstrami, Salami, and Cappy Ham with provolone, "Oscar sauce", and sweet pepper relish. "Cold" also added arugula, onions, and tomatoes to it as well. This sandwich was flavorful in so many ways. Very fresh and light for a deli sandwich while being super filling. The sandwich was also a great portion size. My only thing was that the sandwich may have been just a bit too tangy with everything going on it in. Could have been the vinaigrette. It was still a Grade A sandwich. If you in the city and want a fantastic sandwich, I recommend this place. It is located across the street from the Metreon so I chose to park in that parking structure and walk across.

Really cool sandwich shop that has a unique way that you place an order with old school paper and pencil. The service was quick - I was in town traveling for work so we came for a quick lunch. I had a choose your own sandwich option with the braised pork, onions, olive relish and come back sauce on a Dutch crunch roll. EPIC! The pork was so tender and flavorful. The olive relish - I could eat that all day long. Needless to say - it is a must try! They do get pretty busy depending on time of day. But definitely recommend trying it out.

The food is amazing and generously served. The crew is very nice. The only issue was that they do a lot of talking with each other and it kinda slows things down . I waited for a while for a sandwich. Theres 4 of them so they should be able to make the sandwich faster. There is outside sitting and that is so nice specially on a beautiful day like today.

I can hear Meghan Trainor sing the commercial now... "Because you know I'm all about that pork 'Bout that pork, no brisket I'm all about that pork 'Bout that pork, no brisket I'm all about that pork." How could I avoid a sandwich shop that makes pork its protein specialty? I heard about the "porkstrami" where they switch out brisket for smoked pork butt. After reviewing the menu of signature sandwiches on the green board (Photo 7), I decided to take the more conservative route of the order form with the retro golf pencil. I decided to bypass the porkstrami in favor of their braised pork and chose my favorite, Dutch Crunch, as my vessel of choice. Then I checked off sharp provolone, the house mayo, olive relish, the lettuce mix, tomatoes, and red onion (Photo 9). Yes, I kept it relatively conservative since it was my first visit. However, I was surprised how hefty and stacked it was. It was also pretty satisfying with the razor-thin slices of braised pork quite tender. I sat at one of their terrace picnic tables and could only devour half of it. The rest of it came home with me because you know I'm all about that pork. FOOD - 4 stars...sliced pork worked for me, especially on Dutch Crunch AMBIANCE - 4 stars...nice space, most of the seating is outside SERVICE - 4 stars...pretty efficient crew TOTAL - 4 stars...need to try the porkstrami next time RELATED - Exploring western SoMa? Tldr: Great sandwiches, very filling and saucy. Good as a pitstop between visiting city attractions. Their sandwiches are amazing! Very indulgent and filling. Every time I grab a sandwich, I eat half for lunch and the other half for dinner. I definitely prefer their hot sandwiches for the dutch crunch (and it keeps better in the fridge) and heavy sauces. However, their cold sandwiches are also good if you want something less messy with a simpler flavor profile. I have come here several times, and the service is always great! The staff are so sweet and the sandwiches are made pretty quickly. The location itself is also nice. It's located between a bunch of city attractions (AMC, Moscone, and MOMA). Fortunately, it's tucked away in a quiet alley making it comfortable to eat outside in the fresh air. I think they mostly have outdoor seating.

I need to try it again. After reading reviews and perusing the menu I was excited and expecting greatness, but my Salvatore was just okay. The bread had a nice consistency and the sandwich was a good temperature but the slaw and meat combo kind of lacked flavor aside from a little spice. I probably need to find something on their menu that better suits me and I will eventually get around to giving Oink & Oscar another try. Oh, I don't have a clue what to do what the ticket that was wrapped with my sandwich. Nothing was said about it, was just in there.

It feels like this place has been in the process of opening forever, so glad I could finally give it a try. Lots of sandwich options, but it seems like the stars are the in-house made pork products. Delicious, though definitely not a place for pig haters. Windy City Dip (Hot & Sweet): I'm a big of French dips, so immediately gravitated to the option with au jus. When they called out my name and handed me my sandwich, I was like "where's the au jus?" Apparently they dip the whole friggin' sandwich in the au jus and give you a soggy mess. I was super apprehensive, but decided to dive in. It was actually delicious. Totally wasteful for napkins, but worth it. Like the bread was penetrated with more au jus than if I did a quick on-demand dip before each bite. The thin slices of house made roast pork were good too. And the pickled veggies, with a little kick, were perfect to offset all that richness. Rubenesque: Had to try the house made porkstrami. It was presented a Dutch crunch with pickles, pickled cabbage and a bunch of cheese. The pickled cabbage kinda dominated the flavor profile. The porkstrami didn't seem as potent as regular pastrami. It was good for sure, but I just didn't get the same spices from it. Maybe the cabbage was obscuring the flavor?

Simply delicious! Best Italian sub I've had in the area. Spotted this place while looking for good eats, and was very impressed. Place is easy to miss, and has such a simple sandwich shop vibe-- def worth the visit. Solid selection of pork based sub sandwiches, hot or cold, or build your own. At $17 a sub, it's a little pricy, but sandwiches are big, loaded with meat and veggies, and have such a strong quality flavor. My go to sub is always a classic Italian, and the pigsty here was very impressive! Really healthy cut of deli meat, with strong flavor, and big enough to fill me up! I wanted a softer bread so I opted for French over Dutch crunch. The menu was a little tricky to understand so I asked the guy at the counter-- very polite and friendly and answered all my questions. Popular hot sandwich is the three little pigs. It's also very good! And you can add cheese! Order came out in reasonable time.. don't have stop watch going, but would guess 5-7min? So not super fast, not slow. But def with the wait. Large selection of bottled sodas and other beverages. Standing area to eat in restaurant or some large benches outside. Napkins wrapped in the sandwich. And they enter you in a raffle to win a free sandwich with every order. Great place for a quick and delicious lunch! Recommended.

This is probably the only place where the sandwiches don't taste like the store's essence…read more I mean, don't get me wrong, a store's essence from any given deli/liquor store definitely adds unique character to the sandwich and sometimes I want that in a sandwich. But when you want a sandwich that only tastes like its ingredients, Irving Subs is the spot. Their Dutch crunch is famous for being fresh and actually crunchy. Their lettuce is shredded but fresh and crispy. The salt content is just enough to bring out the flavors. And the overall composition of their sandwiches are very well proportioned. You're not getting skimped, but you're also not biting into a mouthful of a packet of deli meat. They definitely know what they are doing. Double pastrami, horseradish, havarti, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pickles, and pepperoncini. A lot going on, and it all came together. The horseradish and havarti gave it enough personality to stand apart from a standard pastrami sandwich, and the garlicky mayo tied everything together. The one casualty of DoorDash was sogginess by the time it arrived. That's not a knock on the sandwich, it's just the reality of ordering something like this for delivery. At $14.50 it's a hearty sandwich at a fair price. I'd recommend it, but eat in.
