The way it works is there is actually no buffet at all, you must place an order for items on the buffet menu then wait for the food to be delivered. If you're still hungry and want more you need to place another order. On one hand, your food would be fresh and not sitting out on a buffet; alternatively, most people will fill up before their second or third item arrives. Something to note is you can only order 2 pieces of sushi or sashimi per order, and one sushi roll per order. It wasn't too busy; however, customers that were already seated were just twiddling their thumbs waiting for more food to arrive and there was only one server and she didn't look like much of a go-getter. After about 5-minutes of waiting around for something to happen we decided it would be better if we got the hell out of there before we were stuck sitting around like everyone else. I guess this concept works as this restaurant does have good reviews, but I just didn't like the vibe and couldn't risk a potential bad experience on Mother's Day. After asking for a manager, the manager said they didn't actually run out but is putting a limit on us because they want to make sure they have enough to feed the rest of the restaurant till the end of the night. Even though we had only ordered 2 plates of salmon sashimi. AND THEN they had the audacity to offer 10% off. They also kept making excuses as to why they can't serve us sashimi. They mentioned that we should've called in a reservation ahead of time so they would have enough stock. It seemed that they kept pushing responsibility on us, the customers. As an AYCE sushi restaurant, I couldn't understand how they could limit their most popular option to paying customers. On top of that sushi was not fresh, the tuna was two different colors, the masago was slimy, the fish was warm. The servers were nice and service was fast, but food quality and management was pretty poor with the way they handled everything.
