I recently had the displeasure of eating here. I can tolerate unfriendly staff, but there was a beetle in my salad. When i brought it to their attention they refused to reimburse me or accommodate me in any way. After getting up to leave they finally took my diet coke off the bill, reluctantly. When the sushi arrived it was an actual paste- PASTE. The liquid sushi tasted horrible. Upon entering my apartment a half hour later i immediately puked. That has NEVER happened to me before. Great sushi and service, most of the time... But when they fall, they fall hard. We get take out sushi once a week, usually bouncing back and forth between Oishii and Kicho (just up the street in Bedford Hills). The special roll selection at both are usually quite good - in particular the Paradise Roll and the Rainbow Naruto at Oishii. Appetizer-wise the Seafood Ceviche and the Truffle White Tuna are awesome. You can usually find $5 to $10 off coupons in the local Clipper Magazine for Westchester, so we've been leaning towards Oishii more often than Kicho lately just based on price. After our delivery experience last night I think we may have to drop Oishii for a while though. After waiting for an hour, we called and they said the driver was on the way and would be here in 10 to 15 min (our house is only 5 min from the restaurant). After 15 min we got a call from a random guy on the side of the road in mt. Kisco who was trying to translate for the delivery driver (who was actually a cabbie who didn't work for the restaurant)... He was horribly lost and didn't know how to work his gps. After 10 minutes of trying to fight through a seemingly inpenetrable language barrier he hung up on us. I called the restaurant and asked them to call their driver and help hm with directions to our house. They said they didn't have his number because he was just a cab driver. Then after lots of yelling in the background, they hung up on me. I called them back, and after lots more yelling on their part, they offered to re-prepare our meal and deliver it with a new driver. After the ordeal we had with the first, no thanks. We have never had any problems like with with Kicho, so i think we're going to switch back to them, even if they cost a little more (with no coupons), the staff there is always super friendly and the food is always top notch. read more

The sushi here is decent. The cooked food is mediocre at best, and definitely overpriced. Some of the staff is great, others not so good.

Trendy atmosphere, tasty food, and pretty presentation. Busy place on weekend evenings. On the con side, it's a little dark in there, the tables are kind of close together (overhearing other people's conversations), and the waiters could be friendlier. However, the food is good and I would still recommend it for an intimate, not-too-expensive date night. FYI, it shares a parking lot with the Dunkin' Donuts next door. read more

Sushi was good. Sashimi tastes way fresher and better than competition in the area. For Northern Westchester it is really good. Service is fairly quick considering how busy it usually is. read more

Oishii rules! Been going there for years and they have proven to be one of my favorite sushi restaurants in Westchester. Wait staff is extremely thorough and efficient. James especially, nice guy and always greets me by my name. Love the warm mushroom salad, tofu peanut satay especially but solid menu through and through. Good lunch specials too! read more

Saw good reviews, thought we would try it. Our server was quite obviously ill, she sneezed often and used many tissues while waiting at the bar for our food. She then did not wash her hands before bringing our plates out. The sushi was very average and not worth the price charged. My family's go to Japanese restaurant. Delivery is always quick and the food is hot. They are always so kind whenever we call or walk in only 20 minuets before they close. The food is really good and the menu has a wide variety so you can always find something you like. Prices are reasonable and I always have leftovers for the next day. I remember first walking into this place and was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere. the eye-catching lights and ambiance of the restaurant. I remember trying the roll with banana in it. I was surprised by how good it was. I have tried a lot of their rolls since. A roll not mentioned on the menu but a picture called the TNT roll. Wow. Loved it. The staff is warm and welcoming. Mediocre. Shrimp tempura roll was made with the tiniest shrimp possible. Hardly any tofu in miso soup.

The food is very good. Try the shrimp Pad Thai. They give you a good amount of shrimp!

Went in for dinner with one of my girl friends because a client recommend them...first walked in it was extremely hot (don't know if they even had an a.c) and loud you could hear everyone in the restaurant. The food was in my opinion mediocre...had no taste very bland. I ordered flank steak and I was not pleased when I asked to take it back the entire waiting staff crowded around my food and looked at our table as if I did something wrong by sending by the food...it wasn't good so why get upset at the customer for you doing a bad job making it. me and all my employees eat here at least 2 times per week for the past 2 years. the food has always been good and the lunch special is reasonably priced. being that i am the gm of a car dealership i rarely get an opportunity to go out and eat so we always order for delivery. last week 3 of us called in an order and i decided to do something i rarely do, go out and eat. i decided to go to oishii since i had not been to the new location. (btw all 3 other employees ordered for delivery). i get to the restaurant and sat at the bar and asked to order my favorite 3 roll lunch special which i generally always get. the waiter informed me that the lunch special wasn't available to me because it was 3:15 and it ends at 3. i get it, you cant keep it open all day but knowing that i have been ordering multiple times every week from you and seeing that i took the time out to visit your establishment maybe some sort of compromise could have been made. i told the waiter that it wouldn't be a problem to pay extra and asked approximately how much more it would be and i got a response of "I have no idea". I said to him "you work here, how could you not know?" again.... "I have no idea." The lady at the register looked at me and saw I was a bit unhappy and instead of offering to alleviate the situation she turned and looked down not to be bothered. I said to the waiter, "this is my first and last time coming here, thank you." Again, I cant expect them to allow everyone to get the lunch special price whenever they want but that wasn't the point at all. They watched me leave and never attempted to try and make me feel a little better or welcome. So I will not be ordering from there for lunch, going there to eat and will do my best to talk all my employees into the same. btw, i walked out and walked next door to Mt Kisco Farm and bought my sushi. Not the same but they made me feel like I was welcome. I called 3 days in a row and was told each time the manager wasn't there. On day 4 someone just pretended to listen to me and basically said he would tell the manager on my behalf, no feeling of empathy at all. read more
