Fantastic, just a really great spot. The service was amazing. It's family owned and only a few people working so I expected it to be slow, but they actually checked in on us the perfect amount. Prices are solid for how much food you get and everything tasted really fresh. They aren't super gluten free friendly but you can tell they try their best. I loved the appetizer menu and would definitely recommend getting the sushi tower, it was huge for the price. The mochi was awesome too. Definitely will be back.

I will forever go here for my sushi needs! 10 out of 10 always! They make you feel like family and remember your face.

Oiso is such an underrated gem! It's one of my favorite sushi spots--a casual family-owned restaurant with fresh fish and a few Korean food options (like HWEDUPBAP). Nigiri deluxe and bento sets are some of my most ordered dishes, and I can speak to the consistent in both the quality of the food and the service.

Bottom line: Experienced a good meal here at Oiso. The gyoza, spicy tuna crunch roll (more spicy than usual), and Yonkatsu entree were all enjoyable. The sauce with the Yonkatsu made it, ask for extra if possible! We had friendly and attentive service. Overall, a nice visit here. The Deets: I had the chance to go to Oiso with some work colleagues recently, located within the Maynard Crossing shopping center in Cary. Entering, it's a nicely decorated eatery with both booths and tables available for seating. Once we were seated at our table, menus and drink orders were taken in good time. I was a bit disappointed to learn they they no longer do bibimbap dishes, as I do like this Korean dish. However, their menu has plenty to enjoy otherwise. I started with steamed gyoza and a spicy tuna crunch sushi roll as appetizers. They were both good and I have to note their their spicy tuna was a good deal spicier than the spicy tuna I have normally had (most are not even that spicy really) and while it did have a bit of a kick, it was not strong or overpowering (I am not a fan of overly spicy food but this level was just fine). For my entree, I chose the Yonkatsu (panko breaded and deep fried pork cutlet) with rice. I enjoyed this one, mainly because of the accompanying sauce with the cutlet. I wish I had a salad bowl's worth of that sauce instead of the small sauce bowl, I really loved it with the pork! Service was friendly and attentive. I enjoyed my meal at Oiso and my colleagues voiced the same.

Loved my experience at Oiso! The service and food were both great. I started with the ginger salad and the miso soup. I also had a rainbow roll, which was fresh and filling! Good ambiance with indoor and outdoor seating.

Cozy and tucked inside a Harris teeter shopping plaza but don't let that fool you- had some of the BEST sushi rolls! Delicious food, fairly priced, and wonderful service from this family owned spot. Highly recommend!

Small, family restaurant that delivered on great service and fantastic sushi! The crazy crunch roll was our favorite and a must try. Definitely recommend if you love authentic sushi!

After years of wanting to come here, I finally made it! It was worth the wait, because the fish is absolutely amazing. I had the sushi special, which is six pieces of nigiri, with a simple roll of your choice (salmon or tuna). Everything was delicious, except I wasn't a huge fan of the squid, but that's OK because I don't think it's for everyone. Our waiter was really nice, and everything was fantastic! Definitely recommend it, especially for people who want vegetarian sushi.

Specialty rolls. Sorry I don't remember which ones.

I love this place. They don't charge double and then make you do bogo like so many sushi places around here. . Oiso rolls are always just right. The right size, with the right cut, with the right amount of ingredients. Just perfect. I've brought many people here, and they all loved it. And the staff are always very nice. They check in just the right amount of times.

We came in for the first time about an hour before they closed and there was no wait time. The service was great and the waiter was very friendly. We got the spicy tower to start and three special rolls: crazy crunch, hurricane, and sweet Carolina. They were all really good. This has become my favorite sushi spot!

Not super loud either, each table is spaced apart thoughtfully. Now, I have to praise the staff here for their AWESOME customer service. If I could give a 100/5 for customer service alone, I would. This was like Michelin-level elite service. They refilled my drink, changed my grill for clean one, brought over sauces, Really loved the energy and personality of all the staff that I interacted with :). Also my main hostess, Samantha I think was her name, was next level service like better than some of the Michelin star restaurants that I have been to. The meat was very tender, and the sauce is so flavorful. The only reasons I put down four stars for service was the most recent time we visited, our servers were relatively inattentive. The atmosphere is nice, but the temperature in the restaurant is always just a little too cold. The pork bulgogi lunchbox is well worth the price! I love the way they season the bulgogi, although it is on the saltier side.

Grabbed lunch from here recently and enjoyed myself!…read more The staff were polite and helpful throughout the meal. My wife and I ended up splitting the kimchi pancake as an appetizer, and we both got the beef bibimbap for our entrees. We didn't end up getting any interesting beverages this time, but there were a few draft and bottled beers available as well as soju, sake, and other variations of alcohol :) Anyway, our kimchi pancake arrived pretty quickly, and it was very tasty! I liked how the green onion was integrated throughout, and the dipping sauce was very flavorful. It looked like it may be a bit spicy but in fact was sweet-ish :) Our bibimbaps arrived soon after, served in hot stone bowls. In addition, they provided six different small side dishes, all of which were very tasty! I really enjoyed the variety, as they ranged from pasta salad to kimchi. Honestly, the bibimbap was maybe my least favorite part of the meal, which surprised me. It wasn't bad at all, with plenty of tasty veggies included, but it didn't blow me away. Maybe I should have added more of the bottled sauce they provided :) Overall, we both really enjoyed our lunch at Okja and would definitely come back!
