Nice looking facility from the outside until you see the restrooms. Looks like a place where you would want to enjoy a nice Asian meal. Waiter...although he had a huge language barrier, he held his own. $200 meal and I tipped $35 because the rest of the train wreck was presumably not his fault. I see it as $235 wasted, not a big deal, but to some folks...hmm.. maybe? Men's room a hot mess, divider between 2 super close urinals missing. Anyone into crossing swords? Me? I come in big. Toilet paper and paper towels everywhere, no hand soap? Not a good start. Why did I stay? It was my son's 8th birthday and he loves Japanese 'cook in front of you' (Hibachi). Plus I didn't want to upset my wife regarding my silly concerns of avoiding food poisoning. Right? I was ready to throw cash on the grill and walk at any point during this atrocity based on what I estimated I might have owed this establishment. Did I mention that this place is absolutely FILTHY? Once we were seated at the table, what do we see? A Nasty unclean cooking surface. THIS IS WHERE YOU BEGIN TO RUN. You are still reading? Stop! you won't eat here. To be clear, this is the place where the "chef" is going to cook the food that my family is supposed to eat. "Chef" comes up, doesn't miss a beat (let's pause, he should have made a joke of it and cleaned it up.) But NO he starts into his script of "I spray you" with the "sake" for several minutes before he quarter half-ass attempted to clean the cooking surface. Yes, after he "cleaned" the surface it was still littered with meals of yesteryear. Check the photo yourself...old grease, old rice, burnt scrapeable material along with other mysterious stains and smears from meals of the past...all after he cleaned and was prepared to start "cooking". As he smeared his filth around with dirty water and his stained white wash cloth, the burnt smells of the old foods were brought back to life with an aroma that makes one reminiscent of other nauseating experiences that awaken your nostrils in a way you wish you could never. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, aside from the fact that the stove tops are hot, there was no air conditioning in the hibachi room. You can't make S*it up. So super hot. My opinion? Nope. My wife and my 8 yo & 13 yo all HOT. They are always cold in any restaurant. Be ready to sweat (or swear/both). Tons of fun. Cheffing he was not, but once he had begun the fried rice portion of his behavior, I was solidly out. I already told him my family did not want any of the "yum yum sauce" (extra EXTRA mayonnaise anyone?). So what does this guy do? Prepping the fried rice and he dumps just short of a quart of the nasty YUM YUM sauce all over the rice. Then he grins at me and gives me a 'gotcha bitch' look along with a hip thrust mocking, "everyone loves my YUM YUM sauce!"... really? FU dude! I've been to these types of restaurants more times than I care to remember, but never have I ever seen this type of preparation of the fried rice...this would be the point where they spray the rice with soy sauce. FAIL. I was hungry and I'm a big man. I had one bite of the sushi (okay), one bite of the egg roll (no bueno), I did not sample the "fried rice" after he F'ed it up...no veggie sampling for me because "chef" put an insane amount of (burnt) oil on the griddle in which the veggies were soaked, dripping of burnt oil and stinking, Did I mention no one should ever give this hole money again? As far as the chicken "chef" prepared, It may have been okay, I had one bite, but after the colossal FAILURE with everything else these hacks attempted to pull off, my appetite was shot. To be clear, I'm an almost 44 year old man and have never lost my appetite. I'm a big boy with an iron stomach. I had less than 5 bites of this food and I suggest that you avoid this joke. We went for girls trip to Hilton Head and wanted to have dinner outside the resort and found OKKO. For a Saturday night peak season out of the resort was very underwhelming but OKKO helped make our night. The food was good. It was an asian fusion place and had Japanese, Chinese and Thai but I would recommend to stick with Japanese here. The Drunken noodles I ordered was OKAY which is why one star less. We ordered: - Tempura - Fried Calamari - Tuna Tataki - Lobster Dragon Roll - Paradise Roll The appetizers were really good. Calamari and tempura were crispy, the tuna tataki was amazing. I've been on the hunt for that since moving to the East Coast 2 years ago. The rolls were good, as well. Although I liked the lobster roll better than the paradise roll. Nice restaurant, the grill is available beginning 4:30. They have a large variety of Sushi. The lobster with tempura shrimp was beautifully designed on the plate and it tasted very good. Prices are a bit high for the grill. I would love to return but only for their Sushi and to try different appetizers. read more

This place was really good, however, the host we had was incredibly rude. We walked in and she said "if you don't have a reservation then you need to leave" no hello, no asking if we had a reservation, nothing. When I showed her we had a reservation she was just like "oh, well then". Incredibly rude. HOWEVER our server was incredibly nice and knowledgeable about the food. Every single piece of food we had was INCREDIBLE and I don't say that often. Most people go for seafood spots in Hilton Head but this is definitely a don't miss spot for me. read more

Bad service and cold food. We had a group of 6 and sat in this private room table not at the hibachi table as none were available. The server took a while to make it to the table then once she took our order forgot to bring our drinks back. We didn't see her again until our food came. When the food arrived it was warm at best and some of the vegetables were cold. Since she didn't do the normal stop back and "how is everything" mid way through the meal I told her none of the food came out hot and most everything was over cooked (shrimp and steak). She said sorry and quickly left and offered no resolution. Later that night my wife complained about my daughter (4 years old almost 5),my father in law and I had turned the house into a fart factory! We all had the shrimp. Then my son (4 almost 5) started being a jerk so we decided it was probably because of something he ate :) just kidding :). I wosh there was a three and a half star option. Food was tasty and i loved our hibachi chef. Our server was curteous and nice. Due to covid, our family members were a bit hesitant to be super crammed with other people and we were told that we'd be at a table by ourselves for at least the first hour. (This was verified about 30 minutes prior to arrival). This was also, not the case when we got there. In addition, where my husband was sitting there was dripping moldy water from a vent in the ceiling that was dropping on him every 2-3 minutes. OKKO rocks, Really good Hibachi, great quality ingredients and food. Showmanship of the cooks is what you would expect at a place like this. Great sushi as well. Better than most stand alone sushi restaurants on the island. You can choose to sit either in the hibachi side or the bar/restaurant side. I was really REALLY disappointed in this place. Food: very very mediocre at best. The sushi rolls we had were very blah Service: Very slow. And confused. One of the things we ordered never made it's way to us. Instead something we didn't order found it's home on our table. Price: We we're charged a 20% gratuity for a table of 4 adults and 2 kids (one of whom was a toddler!) I didn't see it listed anywhere although I m sure it says that on the menu somewhere. Decided to go to this location since there was a good variety of asian food options. We were able to get a veggie stir fry with spicy hunan sauce as well as a few options of sushi. As a vegetarian family we are always cautious of various non veggie friendly sauces and restaurants. Our server was amazing (I wish I caught his name!) They had a side option of plain lo mein noodles that my 2.5 year old finished completely. That alone made this place worth it haha We loved the stir fry full of fresh veggies (we omitted the tofu as it was fried) it was cooked perfectly. The veggies had perfect snap and flavor. We ordered 3 sushi rolls as well. They were super accommodating and mentioned that we could build our own rolls with whatever ingredients they had on hand. I would rate it 4 stars if it wasn't so overpriced for what you get. Unfortunately, Hilton head doesn't really have any great sushi restaurants. This is one of the better ones, but that's only choosing between a few. Crave Station just opened and they do $32 all you can eat sushi that I think tastes better than Okko's. This spot is a hidden gem on HHI. being a party of 15 with 4 small children this was an awesome experience. The appetizer and sushi came out quickly and were insanely delicious. Sushi is one of our favorite food groups (lol) so we KNOWWW GOOD SUSHI! The chefs were so fun and had us laughing the entire time! Only downside was the wait for our chefs despite making a reservation at 8pm. They didn't start cooking until 9:25pm. The food made up for it for sure and other wise the service was excellent! We went to Okko for a late lunch for Japanese food, as recommended by a local. The sushi and sashimi plating was really beautiful. The sashimi was cut and trimmed properly, so the fish was tender with no gristle. The restaurant is very pretty. The restaurant has a full bar. read more

We stopped here for a light dinner and discovered this Asian restaurant. We only ordered three appetizers which were priced ~$15 each. All three were very tasty though the one, the beef was a bit overdone so a bit tough, yet the mushroom and the sauce were great flavoring. The Avocado Tower was really tasty though we didn't realize it had the tempura shavings were on top and my husband has gluten allergy. And the last one was good too. We probably should have tried some of their signature dishes but we wanted to get something light. The restaurant was very busy our sever "Ella" had a busy section to handle. another server took our order . we received our food, by the time I the check came. I paid the check in cash with. "Ella"took the change of $20 and never came back to bring the change nor did she bring the reseat.
