We got the champion platter. Hot link, sausage and brisket were awesome. Pulled pork was ok. Ribs were terrible as they were dry and tough. Pretty sure they made earlier in the day and dried out. Onion rings and cornbread were great. Mac n cheese was moderate, not much taste. read more

On New Year's Eve had some friend bring over famous dAve bbq and at night had someone bring over Oklahoma joes. Meat from joes was was tender and the beans and cornbread are awesome. Awesome BBQ! This was our first time, had lunch, Pulled Pork Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries with Ranch (homemade!)..... it was amazing! Husband had the Hog Heaven, it didn't last long...lol.... We were pleasantly surprised with Oklahoma Joe's! We will definitely make it a point to eat there when we are in the Aksarben area. It's the best BBQ we've had in a longtime. Went to OK Joes on a Saturday at about 7. They were sold out of several items. One being Mac and cheese. Seriously how hard is that to make? How it expensive is it to make and trash if it's not used. The second was pulled pork! Isn't this one of the main dishes? Now on to the food. I had the brisket and hot link. The brisket was fair. Nothing better than any brisket I have had in other places. Definitely not Smokey- must be oven baked.... The hot link was over cooked and dry. Think it was bought at Walmart and put on a warmer for 12 hrs. Nothing special worth writing home about. My wife had the ribs. This was the most disappointing part. Especially when there are huge claims to fame from a bunch of food icons. They had absolutely no flavor. My wife offered one up and I took a half of a bite and put it back. I was done with the ribs! They were horrible and resembled nothing of bbq. Growing up in Tx and having lived in over 20 states, many of which are iconic bbq states, I will tell you OK Joes is a half hearted attempt at BBQ. The should stick to building BBQ pits and not cooking on them. Anthony Bourdain - said one of the top 17 places to eat before you die. He is dead now. Somewhat disappointed, ordered a full rack of ribs and 2 sides. First I might add our party of 9, sat in the glass walled room because of the large tables. The music was very loud, hard to here and I ask if they could turn it down. and was told by the manager that she was not allowed to touch the sound level. Our orders came and my ribs looked great. begin to cut the bones and I could not separate, they were not done. I went back to counter and was told they were done and we were not the Kansas store, which I never mentioned. The manager brought me a new rack and they were better she explained difference between ribs on top of smoker and bottom. For $25.00 I just want great ribs. My overall experience was average. I've been to the original location in Kansas City and this ain't it. Brisket tasted like it was baked in an oven. Burnt ends had an almost sour taste to them. Mac and cheese tasted like velveeta. Thought we had to try it once and that was enough. Food was below average and overpriced. No respectable BBQ place puts sauce on the meat. Isn't that why the sauces are on the table? Kids meals are tiny and lower quality than regular food--they're your future customers, give them good food. Not nearly as good as KC locations. The brisket sandwich was terrible. At any other BBQ joint I've been to, a brisket sandwich is sliced brisket. This sandwich was chopped beef. It was chopped so much, it just looked like mush and had no flavor. Their cornbread is good though. read more

Poor value! The quality during my experience was subpar. $20 bucks and some change for the burnt end dinner with a drink. The meat was not anything to rave about, but the real disappointment was the sides. Recieved cold sweet potato fries and soggy slaw. well folks, here's the bottom line - picked up some carryout 1/2 pound each burnt ends, pulled pork and brisket - got home and they seemed a little light so we broke out the scale .... burnt ends weighed in at 5.6 oz, pulled pork 3.9 oz and the brisket, 3.8 oz we aren't close to Aksarben so the managers first suggestion of coming back in (on a snowy night) was not in the cards - instead he volunteered to send us some coupons true redemption and a chance to avoid being pilloried here would have been to load up UberEats and get it that make up meal delivered $28 (+tip) for less than a full pound hard pass on a place that sells by the pound but delivers in ounces read more

I stopped in for dinner around 7:30, which is likely the reason for the disappointment. As a guy who loves to smoke anything possible, I knew I was rolling the dice coming in later like this. The young lady at the register was nice and service was prompt. I ordered ribs and a quarter chicken. The quarter chicken was extremely dry and a small quarter. The ribs had a good flavor, but they were pretty tough. Again, I knew better than to go to a bbq joint that late, but ignored my instinct. Although, if your gonna be open and take a customers money up until you close, you should offer consistent quality. I may or may not try them again, if I do, it won't be this late. read more

Oklahoma Joes came up from Kansas City, where it originates. It DOES NOT live up to the reputation it's founders worked so hard to build. I have been many times and have had the same experience each visit. I've had enough which is why I'm posting this. Their meat is flavorless and dry, the meat portions are TINY, they give you a total of 15 fries on the side and they hardly even season them with the famous Oklahoma Joes seasoning. Many times my fries have been cold and soggy as well. I'm not sure if they're just ignorant or cheap...who knows, who cares? Omaha is not known for BBQ, but I can assure you there are much better places to go than OKJ. Their have very friendly service which is the only reason they get 2 stars instead of 1. Very disappointing. They might be carry the same name as the original franchise in KC but this place doesn't measure up. I had the Ribs and Burnt Ends dinner with two sides--Mac & Cheese along with potato salad. Both sides were very good. The ribs were only ok. Not bad but nothing special. My husband and I really enjoy BBQ so we thought we would give this place a try. We went in during the week around 2 or so. It was very slow at that time of the day. I got a pulled pork sandwich with the okra. The okra is really interesting its whole pieces of okra breaded and deep fried. My husband got the sandwich that is pulled pork with sausage on top of that. Our food was warm at best which was displeasing. When the guy came around we were almost done eating so when I told him about it he asked if we wanted new food. Well we were almost done eating. The manager came over and took out plates and I also told her and she said oh i better check the steam table. Never offered anything to us. We did have the cherry bread pudding and it was very good minus the bourbon sauce. It was not cooked well and was very sugary, like it was cooked to long.
