The beers great, the pizza we took home was horrible. No sauce and it was burnt.the meatballs were not homemade.

The food is really good and they have a nice selection of drinks. However, getting any service or trying to pay your bill is usually another thing. They used to be amazing, but the current management cannot seem to keep decent wait-staff. Unless you have a LOT of time to kill and don't need to get anywhere soon, go somewhere else. We used to go there all the time at work once a week, but after taking 30+ minutes to get our bill; most of us were late getting back, so we go elsewhere now. Never again. read more

I' have giving this place chance after chance , went in my third time last night with some friends and always order the same thing , double deckaroni , cheese is always like warm never melted third time this has happened , I got sick because of this undercooked pizza and literally hours after eating this shit I was feeling close To Food Poisoned , waste of money and time , for a pizza place the consistency is always never cooking the pizza, last time around a couple months ago the pizza was cold I talked to the Mgr waited for another one and I still had to pay full price , if you want to get sick off something. you should be enjoying and paying for , give old Chicago a try on German and Gilbert road , I use to work at an OC in college and to be honest this place sucks compared to the ones back north ! It's new and it's Chicago! Tried spinach chicken pizza & it was terrific. Beer selection was outstanding! We sat at the bar & lots of bartenders helped us out! Tried a few beers & enjoyed some wine. Then had the grilled wings with buffalo sauce... again awesome! For a place that is this new I was really surprised at how well they had it together. Great job! Not a bad place to go. Food is decent. The service was good and took great care of us. The environment was middle of the road.

We've eaten here twice and both times the orders came out wrong. Overall, the atmosphere is good and should be fun come football season. On our first visit we went with the deep dish pizza which came out with a cold center and had to be rebaked. It took a while and still came out undercooked. Not entirely sure how that was even possible considering the time it took but we ate it anyway. On our 2nd visit we ordered wings to start and asked for them extra crispy. They came out a bit soggy and far from crispy. They remade them and came out so over-cooked the wings had shrunk down to next to nothing. This is on the cooks who don't really know how to fry a wing correctly. Otherwise, the hand-tossed pizza was excellent. I'm sure we'll try them again and I hope the 3rd time they can get the orders right. We'd love to make this a go-to spot. read more

Quality of the Food - 5* Service - 1* My wife and I visited this restaurant on 9/14/2020 before our bowling league down the street for the first time. We enjoyed the food we received and the quality was great. Where our visit was lacking was in the service. When we walked in, we were greeted by the hostess who advised the young man (Christian) standing next to her would be our server as she sat us at our table. We waited approximately 5 minutes after being seated for him to arrive, as he did not join her and continued to stand at the Hostess stand. When he arrived, he asked for our drink orders and we also put in an order of their special appetizer. About 10 minutes after, he came back and dropped off plates, for our appetizer and left without saying a word. Didn't even ask if we would be ordering anything else. When the runner brought out our appetizer, we asked her if we would be able to order additional food and she said she would get our server (my wife saw him meandering around the dining room, not checking on any tables, and back to the hostess stand). About 5 or so minutes later, he comes back to the table (after we had finished our appetizer) and says, is there anything else we would like. We quickly said, we would like to order additional food. He scrambled for his order pad and hastily took our order and disappeared again for about 15-20 minutes (by this time, we were pushing close to when we had to leave for our bowling league). Upon dropping off our food, we advised him we needed our check since we had to leave quickly and asked him for some condiments to go with our meals. About 5 minutes later, he comes back with our check and my wife saw him wander back to the hostess stand. As my wife was finishing her meal and I finished about 2/3 of mine, he finally comes back and picks up the cash for our check and the appetizer tray. He comes back 3 minutes later with our change and we wrap up and leave. At no time did Christian check on us during our meal. At no time did he stop and ask if we wanted refills (my Sprite was empty for over 20 minutes). We are willing to give this location another try, because the food we had was great and would like to try some of their other offerings. That being said, we would insist on another server that, hopefully, would be more attentive to his customers. When we see tables seated after us getting entrees served before our server comes back after us asking to order additional food, this is an example of poor customer service. I would have asked for a manager if I wasn't in a rush to get to my bowling league. read more

Thought we would try a new place. Pizza was awful! Cheap cheese and low quality pepperoni, left the pizza very greasy! The crust was good but the pizza was floppy. I tried just a slice of pepperoni and had to spit it out, very nasty! The pretzels and cheese were good. Service was good and waitress was nice. read more

Finally checked out the "new" Old Chicago at Gilbert Rd. and the 202. Not near as "cozy" as the Mesa location was - not much going for it on the inside as far as décor. We went there for happy hour. Appetizers were totally "meh" - I wasn't impressed. But I'll keep this one for pizza "pick-up" orders, as they do have the best Hawaiian pizza there is (it has onions and peppers on it and it's mouth-watering). Interestingly enough, this Hawaiian pizza is not on their menu for online ordering, so if you want it, you have to call it in. In fact, the last time I tried to order online, it had all kinds of problems and it didn't even work. It's been messed up since this new location opened up. Just call in your order and you'll be good. read more

First time here this afternoon. My husband and I sat at the bar and we had a great time. Food was great, had the wings with a dry rub and they were awesome, then the provolone sticks which were really good too. Had a couple drinks, they have a great full drink menu and a ton of beers on tap, ordered a pizza to go and they held it in a warmer at the front until we left, (waitress timed our to go order perfectly so it wasn't in there long). The staff was super friendly, had big screens at the bar and some music playing, but neither was too loud or obnoxious, will be back soon and often! read more

We went in later on a Friday night, and it was a train wreck from the first minute. We were told the table would be 45 minutes at 8:15 pm, so we decided to sit at the outside bar counter that was empty, and all of the patio seating was also empty, so we wondered why the wait, but probably because they had no patio waitresses. The bar seats were empty because there was a roaring fan above the seats called a "fly guard" to keep bugs out. I asked if the patio was always going to be lit up brighter than an operating room (didn't say the OR part), and she said yes. So much for atmosphere about as intimate as a grocery store. We ordered 2 drinks that never came. Asked about them from another bartender because ours disappeared. 10 more minutes later, we got them from a bartender who said sorry about delay, they ran out of the drink. Then our table was ready 25 minutes early, hooray? We took the table, but their credit card machines were all down, so 2 cards later, they said your drinks are taken care of, but I got a bill for $11. She disappeared, so i couldn't ask what that was for. I guess it was the total bill, food and all, because our waiter who never came until we were ready to leave, said we were square. Then another waiter came by and spilled a 10 foot area of ranch dressing, so they had to close off the area. The food was OK. Pizza dough tasted like frozen or premade, meat was tasty. Salads were average, and the drinks were terrible. I think they forgot the alcohol in both of them. We will go to Brooklyn V next door from now on, everything there is better, including the service. Sorry. Would've been 1 star, but they comped most of the bill. Place needs a ton of work. read more

This is a great place to watch your favorite team play on football Sundays. If you're a cardinals fan like me, it's a good place to drink away your sorrows. They have a good draft list if you like beer, a very good Bloody Mary, and a decent cocktail list. Their food is awesome. We get the grilled wings, which are super meaty. This is a lively sports bar which serves Chicago style pizzas. They have thick and thin crust options. I had a thick crust pepperoni pizza which was very good. The crust was perfectly cooked and the sauce was tasty. The customer service was good and prices were decent. read more

So, I'm not one to EVER write a bad review but after my experience yesterday evening it's a obligation!!! I've worked in the restaurant business for 13yrs ten of which I bartended. So, I don't presume to get excessive service, but I do as a bartender myself survey the situation of how busy it is on how my service is. But that isn't even the beginning of how atrocious my service was!!! So, first I always prefer to eat at the bar. The bar was pretty full. There was a little patio coupled to the bar that was outside. We decided to sit there. The spot was small, but no big deal. (we live in AZ so the bar was dusty, also not really a big deal!!) But I just wanted to wipe it up. So, when a bartender finally came over to us. I asked nicely (because as a bartender I also know things like that can be a little annoying sometimes, but oh well you are also in the service industry!!) When he (Ryan or Samuel, he had a beard and a faux-hawk) came back with the towel and menus he was you could tell annoyed. Another bartender had brought us menus. Oh well!! I told him I would wipe it up and he said, "no he would". Then literally he never came back to get our drink order. WTF!! (We won't even talk about the fact that we wanted to order food) I was talking to my cousin, saying that the other tattooed bartender must be on the service well and that's why he was completely overlooking us (he was busy). Then I saw the guy talk to the bearded guy. Finally, he came over. He introduced himself and asked our names, (????why did he do this) and finally got our drink order. Brought the drinks and I'm not kidding when I say he NEVER talked to us again!!! We ended up closing out our bill with another bartender. A female bartender. Now this isn't to say he didn't come over to our side of the bar again. Oh, he did. He just wouldn't look at us. Who as a bartender in a restaurant that is all about customer service just decides who he wants to wait on!! I've never had such bad service in my life, I had to actually say something to the manager. In all my years of working in the industry I've never complained to a manager about service before. SO DISAPPOINTED!!!!!! I will never eat or drink here again, and highly recommend you don't either. read more

Ordered takeout tonight and it was fantastic! We love the pretzels and the Chicago pizza with the ale crust!

For starters we used to frequent the Old Chicago in Mesa before it closed. We loved the food. Atmosphere was dingy and gross but the food was always great. This new location was very busy. Our poor server was very overwhelmed and seemed new to the job. She didn't know what was on the menu when we asked questions. We ordered provolone sticks they were really good. Hot wings (used to be our most favorite) ordered extra crispy they did not come extra crispy but they were decent. Ordered a pub pizza and got the wrong order. (This was a mistake by the waitress and she greatly apologized for the mistake) the pizza was ok. Kids ordered the Mac and cheese and they were luke warm on arrival but they still ate it of course(side of steamed broccoli was ice cold). Over all service was lacking and although she was so very nice she needs some improvements. Wait time for food was too long. On a side note the poor bus boy that was cleaning the tables was not provided a dish bucket to clear tables with. He had to load up what he could in his hands and take several trips. I asked him if he was provided a bucket and he said no and laughed saying it would be nice. He was working so hard with such a great attitude. Over all we will try it again after a few months and maybe they will have worked out the kinks. read more

We attended the soft opening this evening, and we will definitely be back! The food was delicious. I used to go to the Mesa location, usually for lunch, since it was close to my work. We had the pizza rolls as our appetizer, suggested by our server, and I could eat them as my main course. Yum. I had the apple chicken salad and my husband had the hangover burger. Both excellent! My husband has two beers and I had two cocktails (hey, it was for charity ‍) and we had no complaints. Getting our drinks was a bit slow, but that was understandable. Our server, Alana, was really friendly and helpful and we also spoke to Mike, who I believe is the GM. Every employee we encountered was service oriented, which is always what will bring people back. The atmosphere has a cool vibe, along with the bar area, and patio. Glad to have them in the hood! read more

I know the place is new but.....45 min wait with lots of open tables. Has a 2 top on the patio so we took that. Misters were on and we got another shower. Sat there about 10 min and no one even took our drink order so we went to our old hang out Brooklyn V's where we sat right away and given drinks within 2 min of being seated. We used to go to the old location in Mesa but were thrilled that they moved over close to us in Gilbert. Our favorite there is the Double Deckeroni Pizza. Nothing like it. Great kids meal selections as well. Only downside is that the dining area is a little tight and cramped. read more

Okay. This place is disappointing. In the words of my husband "garbage food, garbage service". I'm going to break it down into groups... Wait time to table: 7 minutes...open tables everywhere. Wait time before seeing a server: 10 minutes...didn't even know a whole lot about the drinks and then some of the menu isn't even available until another 3 weeks. Wait time before our drinks arrived: 10 minutes to get our drinks and then to be told to wait to grab our order because another table was ahead of us. (I'm sorry, but as a former waitress I would never EVER tell a table to hold their order before taking it so I can get another tables order before theirs. I'd take their order then put them in especially if one ordered appetizers and the other didn't.) Wait time for food for two people: 35 minutes. I should say that we were on a time crunch and we had asked the waiter how long the wait was currently. He told us that it would be 20 minutes for our order and if anything changed then he would notify us. After 25 minutes he told us that it would be another 5 minutes after he brought out the other tables order...you know because they ordered first. So we asked at the time of our food coming to the table to just bring the check and some boxes. Wait time for check and boxes: 8 minutes. Which he then apologized about the length of time for our food then said "but we had a smooth time right?!" With all of this said and done about the wait, there were other discrepancies. We did not receive refills on our drinks so we were without drinks 3/4 of the time. I asked for a cheese to be switched out for another on my sandwich but no cheese came on the sandwich. My order was a chicken avocado sandwich with sweet potato fries and it came out cold with the fries over cooked and no taste or seasoning. Very bland. My husband ordered a build your own calzone that he stated was very blah. He hated paying for the food because it just wasn't worth the price point. The atmosphere was extremely loud where we had to have our conversation through texting the entire time because we couldn't hear each other. It was like we were in a club with the lights on. They also seemed to be over staffed as most of the time the staff was just waiting around just shooting the breeze. So all in all we will not be recommending nor coming to this place again. Went in to order a dessert for takeout. Wasn't planning on staying because it was so close to close, but it was obvious the staff were all hiding in the back. Someone even looked at me and completely looked away afterward. I saw several people who could see me and completely ignored me. If you don't want to serve people don't work in a restaurant. I first joined the Old Chicago Beer tour in 2003 and I've been to Old Chicago restaurants in different cities and different states. The location in Mesa was very convenient to my home so I patronized that location until they closed last year. This new location in Chandler just opened and my membership was transferred here. Today was my first visit to this new location and all I can say is WOW! This is by far the best location I have visited in the Old Chicago family. The bar area is spacious and comfortable and has a good vibe. Below the counter at the bar seats are electrical outlets with USB ports so charging your phones is easy and convenient. The abundance of beers available on draft is impressive, as would be expected. There is also a huge outdoor patio area if you prefer to sit outside. There are also many TV's for your sports viewing interests. Our bartender, Chelsea was totally engaged and provided exceptional service. I think I just found a new "home*! read more

Just finished eating here and we normally don't eat at 3.5 star restaurants and we should have stuck with that. This place was so gross. Pretty small menu with pub like food. My husband ordered an individual Chicago deep dish pizza and it ended up being the same size and depth as our kids pizzas off of the kids menu that were $5 and his was $12. It wasn't at all deep dish which the server said the individual ones come like that. Then they shouldn't have the option for Chicago style if your not going to give that. And it was unbelievably small for an adult pizza, it should not be the same size as the kids pizzas!! Super let down for a pizza place. My chicken sandwich was ok nothing special.
