Great place for a weekend lunch, yes it's a chain restaurant technically but they do it pretty well! The staff was very helpful and everyone enjoyed their food. Orders came out relatively fast for a sit down place. The restaurant is either new or has been well maintained and cleaned up. Their deep dish pizza here was really good! Tried the Farmer's Daughter, delicious vegetarian option on the deep dish. Crispy crust with a soft bite, and what's not to love about arugula with a balsamic drizzle - it's a great bite! read more

I'd passed by this establishment many times and decided to o9rder take-out pizza. The place is okay, with typical casual, sportswear-type decor. The waitstaff was cordial, and my order for a large pizza came quickly. When I got home and opened my large, 26 piece pizza, I was surprised at how small my $32.00 pie actually was. But that's not all, I found the bite size pieces to be dry, and devoid of seasoning. Honestly, I've had better frozen pizza and thus, that will be my last time going there. read more

Went to hang for a few beer after dinner. When we first walked in it smelled terrible! We order our drinks. The odor reminded me of old mop water. The inside is pretty spacious and open and all the booths have plexiglass between them. There is a nice patio to sit outside and the place is family friend. Awesome selection off beers on tap and a great array of food on the menu. We ordered the Bavarian pretzel sticks and the Italian cauliflower bites to start. The pretzels are "just like I like them" according to the hubby which means nice & soft with a doughy center, just the right amount of salt and a great "pull factor." The beer cheese was an awesome boost of flavor too. The cauliflower had a little bit of kick (a little more spicy than I expected) but they were roasted nicely & the garlic dip was a nice compliment. Hubby ordered the Hangover burger medium rare with fries and a side of ranch. The burger had a hash brown on the bottom layer and egg & bacon on top. It is definitely living up to it's name. Oozy runny messy and down right delicious. The steak fries are perfect with the skin still on them making for a crisp outside with a chewy center and just the right amount of salt. I ordered the spinach, chicken and avocado salad. It was a massive portion (definitely an entree salad) but I was all about it!! Ingredients were all nice and fresh and they don't skimp on the toppings so it's a decent ratio of lettuce to chicken, avocado, and tomatoes. The lemon vinaigrette dressing added a nice sweet and tart flavor to the salad and brought it all together. Hannah was a fantastic server! Friendly and genuine in her interactions, checked in on us enough, refilled our drinks without us asking, and she took time to explain the hall of foam---it is our first time here. Old Chicago(great name in my opinion) is located at the large shopping center just south of the 202 on Gilbert Ave. The dining area and bar is really nice, spacious with several booths and tables. I had a comfy booth to myself. Service by Aiden and Manager Andrea was outstanding-best I've encountered in Chandler/Gilbert this year. Aiden was very polite and helpful-if he's your server you're gonna enjoy yourselves. My Italian Grinder Pizza was great with alot of pepperonis, salamis and very fresh peppers. The crust was thin flaky, light, crunchy-top ten I ever had. My chicken tenders were best I ever had! Congrats OC! The batter was perfect with juicy white meat dipped in bleu cheese, buffalo and honey mustard. I also really enjoyed the pretzel bites in the mustard cheese sauce. For dessert, I had the chocolate fudge cake which was perfect-not too sweet and with a nice, moist consistency. I've never been to an Old Chicago before and now it's on my all time favorites list. Most know I generally never knock a place, but this place really irritated me. We walked in a couple of Friday nights ago, and the place wasn't too busy. We asked if it was open seating in the bar and were told yes. So we sat down at an empty high top. This is basically the whole story. We were never approached or spoken to after that. I made eye contact with, if I had to guess, two different servers and three other employees. Not one single employee ever asked why we were sitting there with no menu, drinks, or food. Are you freaking kidding me? After 15 minutes, yes, 15 MINUTES, we walked out. On the way of walking out, neither the hostess nor the other male employee she was talking to said a word to us. So I walked back up to her and asked how it was possible that we sat for 15 minutes with no communication from any member of the staff. She immediately got an attitude with me and said I should have checked in with her and got a menu. She said it was my fault. Wow! I will never step foot in this place again! And on a serious note, this is 100% true. On the way out, a huge sewer roach ran acroos the floor in front of us. I'm not going to lie and say that didn't lighten my mood a bit. It was coming from the hostess stand into the restaurant. I'm sure it was running from her bad attitude. Lol read more

Walked into a super crowded tap room at about 5:50pm. Met my group and quickly ordered a beer and some food before happy hour ended at 6. The food was quite good. Had an order of Memphis dry rub wings and some pizza rolls. The wings were tasty and the pizza rolls were delicious and had a fab marinara sauce that had a kick to it. They had a bunch of taps. Three big menus and a stand up showing specials that with four of us all of the menus definitely crowded our table and were not taken after we ordered. No hooks at the high tops to hang purses so they were either knocked around hangin on the chair backs at the close together tables or either hanging off ur knee. They had too loud Irish music playing but did have some games and raffles celebrating early St Patrick's Day which was fun. Big restaurant seating and an outside patio. I guess my reason for only giving 3 stars is the crowded tables and the service wasn't good but probably because the place was packed. May be more enjoyable for me on a quiet Saturday afternoon. read more

Great night out. Came here on Friday evening, post Covid-19. Restaurant did a good job of adhering to social distancing. Tables were clearly marked in a way to space our patrons. We chose to sit on the patio. Patio only had three different groups out there. Staff all had on mask on. We felt that they were trying to keep workers and staff safely. On to the food. Pizza was delicious. We also had a few different beers. We got the pepperoni and sausage thin crust. I was very surprised that I actually enjoyed the thin crust. It also reheated very well in the broiler. Since it was slow, we got a chance to chat with the manager and our server. They were both great and from Omaha. I believe Hannah was our server and Mike was the manager. They were so cool to talk with. Hannah was great at making recommendations for beers. Well this was my first and my last time I will be coming to this place. Be ready to spend a lot of money on garbage pizza. If you do decide to try this place, whatever you do don't get the smaller pizza bc it's literally a personal size pizza. So you paying $17 for a small personal size pizza. Second if you like a lot of dough then this is the pizza for you. The thin crust is still thick and there is no flavor to the sauce and the topping are very bland. I have been living in Arizona for 33 years and have always wanted to try this place. I was skeptic even trying it because of the 3 star review but now I know ow why it's only 3 stars. I would say they are lucky to even have 3 stars. I have had better Pizza Hut, Dominos and Barros pizza than this place. Anyway over priced, no flavor, very Dowey and not good. We were hungry and were in the area. We have always driven by and thought it sounded good. Even for Superbowl Sunday, there were only about 10 customers at the bar, and the place was almost empty. The ambiance was plain, boring and quiet. Our server was Cameryn, she was unfriendly and inattentive. We started with the wings and the pretzel sticks. After a long wait, the appetizers came and we weren't impressed. The wings were very fatty and flavorless. The pretzel sticks were obviously microwaved, and the "cheese" sauce was old and rubbery. The entrees were not any better. The Grilled Chicken Sandwich was disgusting. It was incredibly dry and tasted old. The pizzas sadly were not any better. The 2 thin-crust pizzas we ordered were soggy and tasted frozen. We mentioned to our waitress, Cameryn that our food wasn't good. She apologized but proceeded to give us a check with nothing taken off and tons of extra fees not mentioned. Set low expectations having been in other Old Chicago locations and it didn't disappoint. The makeover was fantastic! Bright, open, great decor! Service below lackluster when not busy! Our waiter disappeared for long stretches of time. To the point that we went to the bar to get drinks!! We finally decided to get our checks and move to the patio in hopes of getting a different server.. Food was below par. The reverse happy hour burger, unlike most other places, is a sad replica of their regular burger: thin, tasteless and bland. Not worth the $5 charge. Go next door to the fast food joint for a better late night burger. And when the food arrived there were no utensils! Had to wait previous minutes as the food gets cold to try to see if the server shows up!! Overall, highly disappointing. DOUBLE DECKERONI = YUMMMO Seriously, I live in Fountain Hills and would drive to Chandler just for the Double Deckeroni. We stumbled onto Old Chicago after a meetup down the street. My husband rarely likes to order 'fancy' pizza (if it's not pepperoni or sausage he considers it fancy), so this immediately drew our eye! You know when you order something and you want to keep eating because it's soooo good, but you're very full and miserable and just keep eating? Yeah, that's how I felt. I seriously could have ordered a second pizza. And another, if that second one didn't make me explode right there in the restaurant!! Mental image too much? Apologies, but that's seriously how I felt Service - our waiter was polite and attentive, totally don't remember his name Restrooms were clean The system seems to be asking me for Ambiance - uh.... it was clean and comfortable. Nothing super special, but better than many pizza places you've been to. If you like pizza, I imagine their other flavors are pretty darned good too. Ok, my wife and I came here Saturday night during the busy time. They did a fantastic job of getting us seated quickly. We decided to split 2 meals, I got the Boneless Buffalo Wings and she ordered the Meatball Hoagie. Let me start by saying that I don't remember my wife ever wanting a hoagie since we've been married. She saw the picture and it intrigued her. The boneless wings were amazing, possibly the best I've ever had! The meatball hoagie had jalapeño so it was spicy, there was a lot of sauce but once I took some off, it wAs absolute deliciousness. Our waiter was great, he was on top if things and I go honestly don't know if I've ever seen my waiter so much while having a meal, he had a lot of tables so he wasn't hovering, he just had incredible timing. I want to give the place 5 stars but I can't. When we first walked in, their vestibule area, there were 2 people cleaning the windows, 3 people by the host/hostess stand, and they were throwing things at each other. When I walked in and my wife was behind me, I almost got hit and I gave my wife the safety arm to get her out of harms way. Ordered 2 pizzas: Deep dish with Meat Me and added onions and tomatoes- perfect crust and added toppings to make flavors even better. Chicago thick with Italian Grinder, May take a few minutes longer since it's thick pizza but worth it. Had the rollers in chicken and pepperoni and deep dish chocolate chip cookie pie at the end. The food was decent, the ambience was nice. However, even though it was a Friday night. We had to wait for a very long time to get our food. It really didn't look busier then you would think it would be for a Friday. They just looked unorganized. I ordered a thin crust pizza, and received a thick crust. Our daughter received her salad almost an half hour before the rest of us. The pizza was ok, I tried some wings, and again it was ok. Now my son in-law had some kind of burger with hash browns. Decades ago when I first moved to Arizona, back in the day, way back when.....Old Chicago in Glendale was one of my favorite stops for lunch during my work week and dinners with my family. It was always consistently good. When it closed down we were bummed. Today while visiting the East Valley helping a family member move we spotted this location and knew we had to come check it out for dinner before going home. Located in the Harkins movie theater parking lot as well as many others it's easy to spot from both the street and parking lot. The location is fairly small inside, but doesn't feel like it with the huge bar and separated dining room from the tables tops/bar area. We were greeted right away and taken to our table. Our waitress took a bit to get to us, but once she did she apologized and brought us our drinks. We knew we were getting wings and pizza..(what else sounds good after moving all day? Duh ) wink wink...anyway our food came out pretty fast with the wings not over sauced and pizza full of toppings and crust a bit crispy and not over doughy. It was delicious. They only have a personal size or large so we opted for a large pizza. I saw so many other yummy things being brought out to other tables that we'll have to go back and try. Burgers, chicken etc. We will definitely be back. Hopefully we can go do me closer to us sometime soon. read more

We were excited for Old Chicago, this location opened up few months back at Cross roads and we have been eyeing this place for sometime now. We went for a Friday dinner and as we walked in we were welcomed by an enthusiastic front desk. She was chirpy and sweet. Later the server who took our orders was also quite informative about our questions and guided is well. We went ahead and ordered a Moscow mule, provolone sticks (cheese sticks), thai chicken Chicago pizza and a veggie thin crust pizza. The provolone sticks had a good crunchy crust and it was nice with the spicy marinara sauce. The Thai chicken pizza was such a let down. It was sweet and tasted non appetizing. May be few like it their pizzas sweet I'm not one of those. The veggie pizza was average and liked the thin crust better than the Chicago crust. Overall it is an alright place but not coming anytime soon. Prices are a little above average, my main stars are for the friendly and cheerful servers. read more

One would think a pizza place named Old Chicago would have good pizza. While it's not terrible, I was very disappointed. The "thin" crust was soggy, the sausage was meh, could taste no fennel, sauce was a little thick but was ok. Staff seemed nice and were courteous. I don't understand why most pizza places, not just here but even in CA where I live, they don't offer fennel based spicy sausage. It's partly what makes Chicago pizza, Chicago pizza. I doubt I'll be back. Spoke to a nice family while waiting for pizza, I asked if they were from Chicago, they were, asked if the pizza was good.
