Located in a safe part of Olathe, by AMC Old Chicago is a LOT of things but it starts with a good time. Walking in one's eyes are immediately drawn to the HUGE line of taps with all sorts of beers. Of course, right in front of them are some of the nicest bartenders in town. Now, some might be thinking this is a drinking place only, nope its more, much more and the kids will love the huge menu as well. I especially encourage dropping by when your favorite sporting event is on as they have TVs everywhere. I'll admit I've been coming to this restaurant since 2005 or so, I can't remember because it's been so long. That said one of the main features, one that you'll notice in my picture is the beer tour. That's right, drink up to 4 different beers a day which applies to a tour and after 110 beers, you complete a tour and get a cool prize! Moreover, they have holiday mini-tours that last like a month and have interesting limited time brew like (not my favorite) pumpkin brews. Do 10 tours and you get the stein like I have in front of me which allows discounted beer everytime you come in. Please note I don't think it's possible to not like a majority of the beers they have so I think you'll be fine. As for the food, there's something for the kids all the way up to the grandparents. I really like both the Buffalo Chix rolls and pepperoni rolls. Soft and pillowy filled with the meat of your choosing and it's always a hit. I also recommend the Italian nachos as it's a fun spin on the old tried and true nachos. The wings are also great and I like all the flavors unless its hot, I can't do the heat. The spin dip is also a crowd pleaser while the Bavarian pretzel stix are darn good. It's hard to go wrong with any of these and if you need a salad - I recommend the Caesar as it's tasty. As for the main attractions the calzones are dynamite. I have my favorite that I customize with olives, ricotta, onion, sausage and mushrooms which I believe is the best! Regardless of what you chose it will be good. As for pizzas I order mine just like my calzone. It's basically the Chicago 7 without peppers. The dough isn't too soggy or burnt but always comes out just right. Overall, I've never had a bad pie from Old Chicago. As for desserts, I'll leave that to your imagination but I do enjoy a few of them. Overall, Old Chicago is great for the family, a date, friends or whatever excuse you need to get out the house and drop by. The food is great and the beer has more selections that you can hope to go through in a month. Drop on by and enjoy yourself, you deserve it!

It seems that this restaurant may be understaffed. The bartender is absent from what I think of as normal bar duties like taking care of customers at the bar. They spent a lot of time running food and bussing dirty dishes. The restrooms are not well kept, which does raise concerns about the cleanliness of other locations in the restaurant which are not customer facing.

Nothing wrong with the gentleman who retrieved my order, but the rolls are overcooked and severely lacking in cheese that normally covers the top of these rolls. Old Chicago already charges a $4 "service fee" on top of every Togo order for this cheap Togo box and I assume their online ordering software. If they can't even keep the food consistent, what's the point of returning?

Food was ok the fries were very salty I had them remake them with no salt. The pizza and chicken was great . Service was good took awhile to get items we asked for such as hot sauce, napkins and a beer. There was music in the background and it was pretty quiet in the restaurant

Today my we went to lunch here and were seated promptly. The restaurant was clean and good temperature and sound level was good in the dining room. The bar seating area was louder so we opted for the dining room booths. Our server was very sweet and gave us good service and was timely in taking our order and the food came out quickly. I had the cauliflower crust pizza which was pretty good. My husband has the Jamaican jerk dry rub bone in wings and a side salad. The side salad was okay according to him and the wings were okay also. So the food in general was just okay but the service was good.

Good visit. Must've been short on staff because service was slow. When we did see staff they were very polite and quick to get us what we need. Food: The spinach dip was awful, a nearby table sent theirs back too. Fortunately the burgers and sandwiches were perfect.

Was order as a large, This is what came to the table.

We always come here fr pizza and canzone, always the best . The staff not so much. Tonight our waitress took our drink order and forget mine. Then we get the pizza we ordered....we ordered Chicago 7 large, they brought out a min pizza!!!! No sorry, no nothing, then brought our canzone out, we asked her for plates....she forgot!! We finally told her to put our pizza in a box!!! The young girls at the front when we came in,where pulling wait times out their butt!!! They told us 25 min, then the next couple 10 min and then a 3rd couple 15 min's Lol lol..... Great Food!!! Staff needs some help.

The place is decorated really cool with a front patio & open garage door windows with cool lighting inside. Tons of TVs and a huge bar! The good stops there. The margarita was way too sweet but the canned Nutrl peach seltzer was good. The chips & salsa & queso took 25 minutes to come out, I figured they'd forgotten and almost wished i hadn't ordered them. The muscly bartender guy was nice enough but a big air head bc he forgot the guy's drinks beside me 2x... and it wasn't even busy, maybe 25 people in the whole place. Worst part was that they added 20% gratuity automatically but didn't tell me! I was ready to go & he took forever so I just handed him my card. He returned just the signature slip & I signed it but also asked for a copy for my expense report. Took 5 minutes for that & when I got it, I realized they added 20% gratuity, but yet the signature receipt didn't indicate that anywhere that tip was already added, so I accidentally tipped 50%! I didn't realize til I got back to my hotel & they didn't answer when I called back (it was 10pm). I was so mad, and when I called back the next day, the lady told me to call again around 4 & when I did, they didn't answer. Don't get fooled by this place -- check your receipts & don't bother with the food! And don't expect good service either.... OOOOOF.

Parking was ample outside and we came in right about dinner time. We were sat immediately and I soon had a nice red beer. The cheese burgers were the special, so I opted for one of those with fries + the "my girlfriend isn't hungry" add of a couple chicken strips and some extra fries. The burger was perfect, but I've gotta say...for being a place called *Burg* and Barrel, their chicken strips are the best. They're juicy, the breading is fantastic, and they're always just really high quality. We came in while they were starting the trivia night deal, which I couldn't care less about, but if that's something you're a fan of...it's a thing here. Box sizes and to-go orders don't really have a good presentation or fit with the amount of food you normally get while dining in at the restaurant. But Burg and Barrel has it down. Everything travels very well. And they are good at ensuring they have the right boxes for the right items. Venting in place to keep the fries (or tots) from steaming up and getting soggy. Boxes that are big enough for the full sandwich and a full order of fries. Snagged a beer while I waited and didn't even make it all the way through before the bartender showed up with our to-go order. Then speaking of Ambiance... we got to sit in my awesome living room and wolf down burgers and a steak salad while watching the movie of choice for the night. I told myself that I'd start looking at the waitlist starting at 2p for Valentine's Day I kid you not, by 330p, the waitlist was already at 1.25 hours. 30 min later at 4p, the waitlist was at 2hrs. Entrees took five minutes. A wait staff stood there and waited for us to cut into our steaks to ensure that it was to our liking. And we pay at the table on a machine on our own time.
