Old Chicago is in one of Petaluma's historic buildings downtown, so one expects a little funk. But the place doesn't look like anything has been cleaned or updated in decades. The bar area is covered in dust and decor that's ancient. I love deep dish pizza, so I had high hopes. But the crust has no flavor, and you need a chainsaw to cut it. The service was decent, but not great. Overall the experience was disappointing, and I wanted to like it. I have not gone to this location in an extremely long time and had forgotten how good the pizza was until Tuesday night! I wasn't able to show up at the same time that most of the invited guest were coming, in fact I couldn't get there until about 30 minutes or so before the "event" ended but I was able to gt a slice of pizza that had quite a few ingredients on it and it was delicious! My friend reserved the back room for 2 hours which was great and away from any loud crowds that might show up. Old Chicago is in a great downtown location, the pizza is great, salads are good, employees are friendly, service is great, and the overall atmosphere is great! Came here for a work event and had reserved the back room for a large party. This was my first time coming here so I was pretty excited to try out there pizza. I was not disappointed. Absolutely amazing pizza. We had ordered the pepperoni, veggie, cheese and a meat pizza. The crust is awesome. Was only able to have two slices since the pizza slices are huge. Fills you up pretty quickly. The hostess was great. She was very attentive and was happy to assist in what we needed. The atmosphere was amazing as well. Omg!! Delicious! You can smell the pizza baking as soon as you turn the corner! As soon as they sat us they gave us the menu and everything sounded so so good. Tasty is an understatement (insert drool here). My boyfriend suggested we drive out from the East Bay to pick up a pizza and go to Bodega Bay for a New Years sunset. All I have to say is this pizza is basically a fluffy pie that even when full, you want to eat more. We "made our own" 1/2 and 1/2 pizza. One side with pepperoni, mushrooms, olives and artichoke hearts. The other half was the same but swapped the artichoke hearts for sausage. It was an hour drive for us, and I can't wait to go back again!!!!! Also to note, they are located on the second floor of the building. Highly recommend! read more

The wait for this place is horrendous, but that hyped me up more because it made me realize that people were probably waiting for something great. It's located in an old building on the second floor. You need a special key to access bathrooms down the hall. They look old, but hey gets the job done. Pizza came out fairly quick for deep dish. It was cheesy, and hot, and delicious, and I didn't want to stop. We got half pepperoni half combo, both were fantastic! They are not skimpy with toppings, so it made it that much better! Came in while I was visiting friends in petaluma and checked this place out. It actually reminds me of a scene from an old westren. I have a high apprication for the original decore and the preserved old feel to this place. Everything from the exposed brick to the crystal chandelier is amazing. There were different rooms beacuse the place was actually an old saloon/brothel when it first opened. The actual walkway was preserved that people used to walk in which was pretty cool too. We ordered the pesto chicken pizza which was super filling. I highly recommend getting a fork to cut into the pizza. One slice of pizza completely filled me up. The mozzarella on the pizza was the kind of mozzarella that streches for days and I really enjoyed the ultra freshness of the pesto. The service we recived was some of the best service I'd recived in a few days. I will deffinatly be back to try more things on the menue. read more

We drive RT from Alameda to Petaluma for this pizza ... it's that good!!! The restaurant is in a great location in a historic old building with lots of history. But, we really come for the great pizza and servie. Our favorite pie is the pepperoni and mushroom with jalapenos. But they offer so many more toppings. They also serve up a decent wine and beer list. The pizza takes a while to bake, so we always enjoy one of the delicious salads while we wait for our pizza pie. You will not be disappointed. Even with two orders, our table of 6 was underwhelmed with the salad. If I had to give constructive criticism, this is where they could work on. We ordered two Medium pizzas for our table of 6. They are big enough that you wouldn't need any more. Everything was fresh, the dough was perfect and the ingredient variety and quantity was on point. Probably top 3 best pizza I've ever eaten. We came at a good time and were seated immediately. On the way out a line had formed outside. The place is on the smaller side so be prepared to wait a little; It's well worth it though! I'm more of a New York style pizza kinda gal but this place is really good. The cheese is delicious, and the dough is soft and fluffy. I only ate the center of pizza and had some of the crust bc it actually is way to much crust for me. I ate and felt so heavy afterward ( and this is coming from someone who can put away a whole pie on her own). The deep dish has a good crust and depth, with a nice flavorful tomato sauce. It could do with a bit more cheese for me, but otherwise a great pizza. Service: Attentive for a Friday night. Drinks were consistently refilled when they came by or when we asked for it. Cost: $38 for a medium deep dish, a tea, a soda, and a dinner salad for two. Review is way overdue...I was craving pizza on the way back from wine tasting and the bf found this place. The reviews were great, wait time was long and let's just say I was so disappointed. I've never had deep dish Chicago pizza and let's just say it lacked the grease factor and taste​ factor. We ordered pepperoni jalapeno and garlic. The pizza hardly had any sauce and the crust, the best part, seriously tasted like cardboard. On top of that my bf paid $1 for a side of BBQ sauce he didn't touch. The salad was good.
