I've been meaning to try this place and finally stopped in today. They had a great spread of different donuts, a lot of them cream-filled. I got the butter pistachio and the onion sesame donut. The butter pistachio lives up to the hype. Seriously. It's mildly nutty (not a very strong pistachio flavor), lightly sweet, and fluffy. The donut itself was very light and airy and so was the cream inside. It was such a delight to eat lol. The onion sesame donut looked like a bagel with the everything seasoning on it, and it was filled with whipped green onion cream cheese. Also very good with a creamy onion-y flavor. I think they might have brushed a syrup over the top of the donut because there was some sweetness to balance the saltiness of the topping. Service was very quick and friendly. We were walking around and noticed this cute place so we decided to go in. The man working was very friendly and patient since we were deciding which ones to get. They also serve coffee as well and matcha. Interior is very warm and welcoming. This store has all the flavors you would make up in a dream, thus you can stand at the counter for awhile trying to decide what you might want to try... yep, we were one of those Customers who kept changing their mind, then asked the friendly and tolerant staff what were the top sellers and then their favorites. Luckily there was no one in line behind us. Had the Butter Pistachio, Mango Cream, Chocolate Cream, Coffee Cream, Almond Salted Caramel, Strawberry Cream, Matcha Cream, ... Been wanting to come here for some time now! Service was great, the cashier was really friendly in telling me about the popular donuts and more importantly.. that the donuts were not too sweet! Butter pistachio 4/5 - really light and fluffy, the cream is also light and not overbearing. But didn't taste any pistachio flavor! Not even little crumbles of it. Cookies and cream- husband really liked this one! Salted caramel- this was his favorite. Again, the fillings aren't too sweet which is what I worry about with a filled donut. I did not expect to like these donuts this much. I'm not a huge donut fan but I was craving it for some reason so I chose Old Ferry Donut to satisfy my craving. I knew the butter pistachio was a popular flavor so I had no doubts about that choice, but I wanted to make it more fun so I added a raspberry ball and earl gray to my box. The butter pistachio was undoubtedly my favorite. It's light and airy even though it's stuffed with pistachio cream and glazed with butter scotch and sprinkled with pistachio crumbs. My next favorite was, surprisingly, the raspberry ball. The jam filling is perfectly tart to complement the sweet raspberry glaze on top. The earl gray is also a solid choice but I'm partial to yeast donuts over cake donuts. They did encapsulate the earl gray flavor very well though. The donuts are a bit pricey but you pay for the quality and it would make a great gift to someone with how unique the flavors are and how beautifully they're presented. read more

Cute speciality donut spot! We stopped by here after lunch and the girl who helped us was super friendly. We ordered the butter pistachio and the tiramisu donut. Total came out to be around $11 for both. Butter pistachio: this one was good! It had a lot of filling and you could taste the pistachio flavor. My toddler liked this one. Tiramisu: this one didn't have as much cream filling and it didn't really taste like marscapone. The glazed part of the donut was a bit dry. I probably wouldn't order this again. After having a delightful soy pudding dessert at Half & Half Good Old Time in Mission View Plaza, I was looking for some shade and a place to sit. I saw a table and a couple chairs in front of a shop called Old Ferry Donut (South Korea's first premium donut brand). So I sat down for a minute or so not thinking to go inside since I already had dessert. However, I saw two groups of people walking into this donut shop. I was now curious. It was on Mother's Day 2025 and they had a Mother's Day Special... 6 pre-selected premium donuts for $28 which is a few dollars of savings compared to you selecting your 6 donuts of choice (price ranges from $3+ and higher per donut). Anyway, I went with the special after getting some great details on the donuts from the owner (I think he is the owner, but not 100% sure). Thanks for the donut info! Mother's Day Special Box of 6 came with Butter Pistachio (I love pistachio, but this one did not come through for me. I can't really pin point why I didn't like it. Maybe I'll give it another try next time.), Cookies and Cream (good amount of oreo cookies topping with the right amount of cream filling... my 2nd pick!), Creme Brulee (I was actually surprised I didn't care for this one since I love creme brulee... it didn't have the creme brulee flavor I'm used to eating from the actual dessert), Matcha Ball (I didn't get to try this one... maybe next time), Milk Cream Ball (perfectly light, creamy, and sweet... my #1 favorite pick!), and Tiramisu (love the outside half crunch... my 3rd pick!). Came to get a sweet treat after lunch and was really intrigued by the earl grey donut. I was very disappointed because I couldn't taste any of the earl grey! Even though I couldn't see it sprinkled on top of the donut. It mostly just tasted like a glazed cake donut which is fine but I wouldn't recommend and I wouldn't get it again. Otherwise, the location is very nicely decorated and styled. They have some merch you can purchase and they have a wide variety of flavors, may be I just picked the wrong one lol. Parking can be rough when it gets packed, but you can usually find street parking within walking distance. I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to come back. I honestly don't think I can go back to regular donuts after this. The dough itself was incredibly light and fluffy, not overly sweet, just perfectly balanced. It somehow felt almost guilt-free (even though I know I'm still paying the calorie tax ). But seriously, it didn't have that heavy, fake sugary taste that most donuts do. It was more like a refined treat than a sugar bomb. The butter pistachio is a must-try, it's rich but still delicate. I also tried the Boston cream and tiramisu, and both were amazing. I would not have known about this place if not for foodie influencers and social media. We tried the San Gabriel location, which is closer to us than the one in Koreatown. All of the donuts we ordered were filled, which I wasn't expecting. We had the mango ball, the butter, pistachio, coconut, and the onion sesame. My favorite was the mango ball and onion sesame. The mango cream was like a moose ice cream and the onion sesame was filled with cream cheese. It was like a a bagel with cream cheese, but as a doughnut. perfect for breakfast. The coconut was really good too, and my least favorite was the butter pistachio. I wasn't getting a prominent taste of pistachio. And that's the only reason why it's my least favorite. All the donuts taste fresh even at the end of the day. You have to get there earlier in the day to have more of a selection of donuts. We were told there are 22 different flavors. The interior of the shop was very orange in color and perfect for the season, which is Fall and Halloween. Packaging is really cute and the graphics on the windows are I catching. This was the first time visiting Old Ferry Donut. I've had this place bookmarked for a while since I had a few people tell me I need to try this place. As soon as we walk in you're welcomed in with the bright orange color and the delicious display case. They had such good looking donuts on display that we were debating for a few minutes what we wanted to get. We would love to come back to try other flavors, but maybe for next time we won't be so overwhelmed since we know what to expect. Staff were very friendly. We did not feel rushed even though we were unsure what to get. The establishment is clean. There's plenty of seats and I would highly recommend going with a friend or two so you guys can split them to try other flavors. I would also like to try their coffees next time. I know Old Ferry is a hot spot right now with social media buzzing, Yelpers raving and at time, there's a line, but I'm going to break the trend and say what I think. I was really excited to try this donut chain from Seoul, but I was left a little disappointed. The inside of the shop was really cute and fully decorated for Halloween. You order at a small kiosk screen, and the donuts were ready for us almost immediately. They also get bonus points for having the cutest packaging. We tried three flavors: butter pistachio, matcha cream ball, and crème brûlée. The best flavor was easily the butter pistachio. The cream was light and not too sweet. I wandered in on my way to Paris Baguette and the man at the front (maybe the owner?) greeted me and offered to give me an intro to the brand. It's apparently one of the most popular donut chains in Korea, and even though the flavors all sound super sweet and decadent, they're not overly sweet. All of that sounded great so I opted to try the butter pistachio and cookies and cream donuts along with their Americano. Oh man, both were amazing! True to the description, the donuts were flavorful without being too too sweet - an absolute perfect pair to an Americano. I made a trip back a few days later to try other flavors. Finally a donut that is not greasy or overly sweet. I got the original glaze and fudge one. They are super soft and perfectly sweet. I didn't feel full after which usually happens with donuts. First of all this place is very clean, I wasn't sure what I was going to be getting for an almost $5 donut....i ordered the coconut and the pbj for my bf. This might be one of the realist reviews ever. Storytime - Around 8 pm this past weekend I was craving a glazed donut. I pulled up Yelp typed in Donuts and saw that Old Ferry Donut was open until 9 pm. I drove there ASAP without looking at any pics or reviews. You can imagine my surprised when I pulled up and saw that this was an artisanal donut shop. Not wanting to leave empty handed I got the Cookies and Cream and Tisamisu. Alright, so despite craving a glaze donut I will say that I was pleasantly surprised. The two donuts were quite tasty and pique my interest enough where I was thinking I have to go back to try some more of these fancy cakes. I call them cakes cause they are quite dense and thicc. Cookies and Cream was pretty good, Tiramisu was good too but man if you thought eating a Tiramisu cake with a fork was hard try eating a Donut filled with Cocoa powder on top.
