She yelled back I am here by myself so you wanna sit sit here... we are all friends here... and all the customers being Europeans I was the only one with melanin in a rich shade, so I sat and as she said some nasty things under her breath but I heard her... so I was very uncomfortable and no longer trusted her to make my lunch. ..... I understand if you are working alone but under no circumstances should you yell at a customer and back and forth. Blue Crabs are great, and so is the service! We are locals and were looking for some decent blue crab without waiting in line. This place is a small Mom & Pop seafood joint. It's nothing fancy but we were greeted with a warm smile and a great server. I called ahead to make sure they had the type of blue crab I wanted. They explained how many Jumbo's and Mediums they had. I ordered 3 jumbos and 1/2 dozen mediums. The crab was delicious, and the meat was sweet. The crabs are locally caught fresh from a local seafood company. The staff was very personable and friendly, including the owner who came out and chatted; business was slow on a Wednesday mid-afternoon (amidst the pandemic round 2). This is not gourmet food, not upscale but down home cookin' and service. It was very good. We had the cornmeal breaded and fried Mahi Mahi and Key Lime shrimp. The Mahi was excellent, cooked just right. The shrimp was battered and deep fried and slathered in sweet Key Lime sauce. The vegetables, fresh steamed, buttered broccoli, cauliflower and carrots were even better, perfect. We took home bowls of clam chowder, the taste was excellent, it was a little thinner than I'd like but each to is own. There are other dishes I'd like to go back and try. read more

We came at about 3 on a Tuesday. This place was fantastic! A mom and pop type space the laid back vibe was just what we needed after taking our children to the beach for the first time. Our waitress(who I believe was also one of the owners) was amazing with our children as well. The Cesar dressing is mild and yummy and home made! The onion rings were fresh and hot. Tip: ask for corn holders with your corn on the cobb! The fried shrimp are home battered not bulk. Home made blue cheese! The chef is a delightful man as well. It's simple, old time and clean. I was skeptical with the rating but, honestly, pleasantly surprised. Service was friendly and prompt. Fries were actually done and not soggy. My daughter said her cheeseburger was the best she'd ever had, my husband enjoyed the fried shrimp and I had one of the crab cakes and it was good too. The salads were fresh and croutons were homemade. All in all it was a great experience that doesn't deserve 3.5 stars. If we are ever in Cocoa Beach again, we will be back! The best part of our visit was the friendliness of Megan our waitress. The food was mediocre at best. Stuffed mushrooms weren't bad. Fried clams were overcooked. Fried shrimp were undercooked. What a great local family owned place! I can see why it has been here for 25 years. Great food I an unassuming location. tried rock shrimp for the first time, delicious! The first time (yes, went several times the 4 weeks we were there) we had frog legs and the fried shrimp platter. Both excellent. 2nd time, 2 shrimp platters and a fried oyster platter. Me and my wife love this place. I consider it the best kept secret in Cocoa Beach. We eat here on a regular basis and love everything we have had. The New England Clam Chowder is in the top 2 I have ever had. Being from Boston family, I have had some good chowder. This is a family owned/ run business that we love to support. I had friends bring me take-out from this place so not sure about how their respective dinners were but I had broiled tilapia with a side of steamed vegetables and corn on the cob. I also got a cup of soup which turned out to be clam chowder with some kind of fish in it. The broiled tilapia was fresh and wonderfully soft. It was lightly seasoned just right which was great because I didn't really want anything too full of spice or oil. It tasted like a steamed fish my mom makes at home. The corn on the cob was nothing special - also steamed and sweetly mellow. And lastly, the clam chowder hit the spot for me in the first spoon though I prefer it slightly thicker. I love clam chowder but as I progressively ate more of it, the more saltier it got even though I stirred it through. My satisfaction exponentially decreased due to the intense saltiness. I felt something stringy in my mouth, and, low and behold, pulled out a 4-5 inch hair. YUM! By the way, I'm bald. No way it was mine. I gave the hair to our server, and she disappeared back into the kitchen, only to return a couple minutes later. She offered us a scoop of free iced cream, explaining that's what the owner told her to do. She seemed a cross of embarrassed and mortified. I don't blame her. She had done a good job so far, and this owner misstep was obviously making her uncomfortable. I asked her if I could speak to whoever was giving her this directive. A few minutes later, somebody, whom i later found out was the owner Ray (he did not introduce himself), came out and said simply, "Yeah?" Incredulous, I repeated his "yeah?" Ray said, "What do you want?" I couldn't believe my ears. I asked him if he knew why he had been called out. He said yes, but told me nobody in the kitchen, including him and his wife, had that color hair. I felt like I must be in "The Twilight Zone." Again he asked me what I wanted. At this point I was so pissed, I told him I wanted that plate comped. (He was such an unconcerned prick, I should've gone for the whole meal.) He said nothing but, "OK," then turned and walked away. No apology whatsoever, and I know he would've gotten away with whatever he could to get out of this hair-pie fiasco. We had a good meal and the service was good. If you are looking for fine dining, this is not it. If you want a "down home" non pretentious tasty seafood dinner, this is your place. The owner came out and checked on us after he cooked the meal which is always nice to see in a small restaurant. One thing i would relay to the owner is to train your waitstaff a little better. Even if you don't offer certain substitutions many patrons will pay (as was our case) to get what we want. I must first begin this review with a warning, this place has been steadily declining over the past few years. Thus, I fear my opinions might be heavily influenced by the tastes that were instead of the tastes that are. The fried shrimp is absolutely delicious. My family still goes here for it. The price is pretty reasonable for the amount of shrimp (they are small, however). The corn fritters are a bit moody. Some days they're amazing, others, they aren't worth how bloated you're about to feel. I think I tried the fried fish here last time. I say "I think" because whatever I had was so bland and unmemorable that I honestly cannot think of what it was. Also, as a picky southerner, I've got to warn against trying the coleslaw. Generally though, this place is worth the pretty low prices (at least for seafood in the Cape Canaveral/Cocoa Beach area). read more
