I had never been in a moonshine distillery prior to today, and I would go as far as to say I don't anticipate that I would go into many more in the future. So, I'm going with a 3 star review, because it was really just not my thing. If it had been a brewery it was a good concept and they had their products prominently displayed and had merch to sell and promote the produce line. All things I'm good with. So the main issue for me was the smell. It really just wasn't pleasant and would have made it hard for me to buy anything here. Now, that being said, there are several distilleries in the area and they had the exact same smell as you walked past, so this isn't something specific to this location. If you are a fan of moonshine, they have plenty of product available here and in a very large variety of flavors. If you like moonshine, there is a good chance you will enjoy stopping in to check these guys out. Just wasn't really my thing. read more

This was an awesome experience. Even during COVID they are trying their best to take precautions. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful to decide what to buy. We were able to save about $60 on our purchase because they were so helpful letting us know specials they had going on. Once you've seen on distillery, you've seem them all, right? Well, not quite. They have the standard flavors of moonshine, but this place also has some interesting flavors like oatmeal cookie and bananas foster. The also have rum creams in flavors like peaches and cream and root beer float. They also have a working bar, so you can drink while you shop. read more

Must do! So much fun tasting all of the moonshine! They're all pretty delicious (especially the oatmeal cookie) and there's a lot of variety for you to try and bring home. The shop is also quite unique, with nice souvenirs. The little area around has a bunch of cool shops and restaurants. This was the moonshine place I was most excited to try because I'm a fan of their whiskey, and the moonshine is a little harder to find in KY than some of the others. The moonshine samples are free. You can try the whiskey, gin, rum, or Rock n Rye for 2 bucks a piece. The Rock n rye was what surprised me the most. I wasn't aware they made it. I tried the peach habanero flavor and it was great, but definitely left a burn in the back of my throat. The Honey Fennel was good as well. As far as creativity with their moonshine flavors, the place gets an A+. Bananas Foster, French Toast, and the one I eventually took home, the oatmeal cookie flavor were all fantastic. When sampling, one thing I noticed is that the bartender was not "putting on a show" like the other moonshine places we went to. It was just "which ones do you want?" and pouring them in a cup. No cocktail suggestions or banter. That's the only part I wasn't a fan of. The prices are the same as the other moonshine places. There's not one that's necessarily cheaper than the other. read more

Rob was amazing!!! They are located in a shopping area in a cute little cove called The District in Pigeon Forge. Easy to find, easy to park. They had a band that was playing out front on a Saturday. So good! Rob served us some of the neatest concoctions and mixes of moonshine we've ever tasted. He was entertaining and really cool. There's no charge for the tasting so we tipped generously. Stumbled upon this little gem while walking to a restaurant nearby. Tasting was free and 8 options from their list--all of which were really decent. Staff on site were extremely friendly and helpful. The biggest bonus, though, was the plate of Moonshine Cake samples. There was clearly a sign that said one per customer but I'm certain we broke that rule. I visited this establishment on my vacation with my mother. I had previously visited four years earlier and fell in love with their blackberry moonshine. They have since upgraded there area to include a small but cozy lounge to enjoy a cocktail. I believe this moonshine is crafted with experience and with a skilled hand. I always recommend this distillery. Our visit included a visit each night we were there. Jessie the ran the tasting the first night we were there and her knowledge and ability to answer questions on how to pair and drink the moonshine was exceptional. Bethany the manager went above and beyond to help me rectify a purchase I made in haste before the tasting. I cannot remember the bartender in the lounge whom was as well knowledgeable in all the products. I cannot express how much the establishment and the people in there made our trip worthwhile. This was a wasted trip. I didn't realize when I bookmarked this place that Pigeon Forge was basically the Redneck version of Orlando. The fact that Dollywood was nearby should have tipped me off something was up, but having never been to that part of Tennessee, all I could think of was trying some Tennessee whiskey that wasn't Jack Daniels. This place was one of the first "distilleries" that popped up on Yelp and other sites. Traffic in this part of Pigeon Forge is ridiculous (actually the entire drive between Pigeon Forge and Gaitlinburg is mind-numbingly horrible). This place is part of some faux old timey strip area with a few other touristy stores. I walked in hoping to smell some mash, see some vats of product, and then taste some craft made shine. Not one bottle that I looked at for sale in the place was distilled by Old Forge. A major hint for the pursuers of the craft alcohol experience is to look at the product bottle. If it says ANYTHING besides "distilled and ..." on the bottle then it WASN'T distilled by the producer/seller. Basically they have bought grain neutral spirits from an outside source and used that to "produce and bottle" whatever crap they are trying to sell you. That is what this "distillery" does with their shine. Long and short of it, this is a fake setup for selling flavored alcohol to Redneck tourists who don't know any better. If you think about coming here for a real distillery experience, you will be disappointed. read more

This is the best distillery in the area. Hands down. We come to the area every year and nothing tops this one. Also, its whiskey..so if you like liquor that doesn't taste like CORN..this is your place. Pre virus they actually had a small "bar" making craft beverages. Today in the virus times, we got 10 tastes for just a tip. We did $10 for the 2 of us but he said 10 tastes was about FOUR shots. So happy hour priced cocktails basically. We didn't try everything. I think they had about 15 flavors. French toast is INCREDIBLE, if you like fruity the Key Lime and Pineapple were very tasty. They also have a seperate cream bar where we tried about 6 more rum based cream liquors including peanut butter, root beer float and watermelon. Found this place due to a text from a friend back home asking us to pick him up two jars of "the best shine up there". I participated in the FREE sample tasting which was a sampling of 10 different flavors of your choice (there were 15 to choose from). The oatmeal cookie, pumpkin roll, coffee, key lime pie, and cinnamon toast were my favorite. The cola was very good as well. The shop had some very cool merchandise that was fashionable vs cheesy like other shine stores we had visited. I would say skip the others and come straight to this distillery if you are looking for a shine tasting/ to purchase some shine. The flavors were better and the shine was much smoother. read more
