The gift shop has tons of Disney collectibles and figures, various kchotckes, souvenir magnets and stuff. Also they have various unique flavors in bottles sodas and they scoop Thrift ice cream. Outside in the back they have some dinosaurs made of metal and a King Kong. They have some ponds with super green colored water. They have a wall to create a waterfall. They have a stage area that doesn't look like it gets used. The dino shop looks permanently closed. They have a couple of tables that you can sit and enjoy the scenery. Snapping turtles are in the pond and several ducks were around. Not sure why the water is so green though, it's kind of off putting. Anyhow, when we entered we went to the right and followed the yellow "brick" road to the back dining room. The first room is a counter service area with a couple of booths. The next room is a dark looking room with tables and then the larger and bright dining room. If you go further you get the pizza place. If we had gone left upon entry, that would be the gift shop and ice cream area. Their menu is cute and movie themed with comfort food selections. Since we were not too hungry we decided to share the chicken friend steak and 2 eggs with hash browns and sourdough toast. Love that they offer orange marmalade jelly. Our server was very pleasant and food came out quickly. The chicken fried steak was a decent size and was flavorful. Wish it had a bit more gravy though. The hash browns were cooked perfectly. I live that they serve whipped butter for the toast. It was super easy to spread! The food was so delicious that I forgot to take a picture of it. Eggs were cooked perfectly. The place was pretty busy when we got there. I have always wanted to stop here and finally was able to. It was definitely worth the stop and we will be back again for their food! Next trip we are going to have some Thrifty ice cream too. This time we night some real cane sugar Dr. Pepper and different root beers and sasparilla to take with us.

Overall, I think I expected a bit more, although nothing was necessarily wrong. The diner was decorated throughout, but the theme did not strongly read as 1950s to me. At first glance, I could have mistaken it for more of a dive-bar-style spot, though the staff uniforms were a nice touch. The food was average overall. I tried the "Huell Howser" burger, which includes honey ham and pineapple on a cheeseburger. It was okay, but the pineapple was only one ring, so the flavor did not come through in every bite, and the ham did not stand out much either. I also tried the "King Kong Monster Burger," which was smaller than I expected based on the name and looked more like a standard double-patty burger. The curly fries tasted a bit undercooked and were not my favorite. Surprisingly, the side salad with their house-made ranch was one of the highlights. The ranch was buttery and flavorful. The candy store/souvenir shop on the other side of the building was less impressive than I hoped, much of it felt like mass-produced merchandise rather than vintage or unique finds. Overall, I'm glad I tried it once, but I would not personally go out of my way to return.

The cook/server that helped me was friendly and on top of my food order. I got there at 4:00 AM and he was cooking an order for 6 guys in the back. It was a Saturday morning around 9:30ish and was surprised it wasn't that busy. We found a booth and saw we had to scan a QR code for the menu. OK, I admit, I hate that. Then they had instructions to download the app to place your order. I assume this was put in place for COVID. Finally, a waitress came over and said she'll take our order. Thank goodness! I ordered French Toast with sausage patties, which I totally prefer over links but it's so rare to find them on the menu, and my partner had a breakfast burrito. The food arrived fairly quick and it was perfect. I'm not into fancy breakfast foods so keep is simple and I'm happy. The breakfast burrito was HUGE and my partner wasn't able to finish it. The entire breakfast with coffee was about $40, which I felt was very reasonable by today's standards. We both mentioned how we recently went to famous SoCal fast food hamburger joint (not In-and-Out) and it was $30 for 2 people, and not as good. Our service was super friendly, and we felt welcome there. Along with good food, this might be our regular breakfast stop when driving to Vegas.

If you're tired of the tourist crowds and lines at EddieWorld, I recommend this place for the convenience. I ordered the pastrami sandwich with fries based on the friendly guy's recommendation inside the order window. The $14.00 price was reasonable. Service was slow, though. I guess it's because he's the only guy there taking orders and making the food. By the time I took a bite of the pastrami sandwich, the wait was worth it. The taste is what you'd expect from a "typical" pastrami sandwich made fresh. I've had some phenomenal pastramis in my lifetime, and when I say "typical", it's a complement.

The best soda EVER and hard to find. Our delicious burgers were flavorful and juicy and NOT thin cardboard. Chili cheese fries were amazing too. Great people, great food!!! We will be making this little hidden gem a must stop, when passing through Yermo. Thank you Richard and Mary. God bless you both, your mom and this special place too! Also, thanks Richard for recommending Mules Canyon Rd for trail for off roading. We went off of your recommendation and had a blast! Thanks again!!! See ya soon!

I right away noticed the other car just came out of the drive thru and was told the same as well. That lead to our food being opened and handled. There is no need for this to happen Jack n box. It's Barstow and should be easy in and out. Well it was not. I immediately went inside to inform my food was given to the wrong customer and was given immediately an attitude. Manager came out with an attitude as well and made no eye contact, just said "give me your credit card you used" without letting me explain for feedback so this would not be the case. The workers are all not motivated and dropping pans and kicking them around. Shit is nasty and crazy in there how bad it is. I am so glad I did not eat food there with how it's handled. Do not stop here go to the Baker location much better experience.
