We've been coming here since their first location opened up at Forest Springs. We've always enjoyed our pizzas, apps, and subs, never been disappointed. I'd like to point out that they take care of our First Responders, and that speaks volumes of their ethics and compassion. Our pizza tastes just like traditional New York Style. Very disappointed in this restaurant. They were busy, and we understand that many places are understaffed. But there really is no excuse for having to wait close to an hour and a half for two small pizzas & two apps. One app came out 20 minutes prior to the other person's app arriving, and the pizza's were at least another 20 minutes. Others who sat down after us were served before us. To top it off, the waitress and another staff member were flat out rude. One person in our party of four asked the waitress how much longer for the pizzas, and she gave a rude answer. That is not how you treat customers. Won't be back anytime soon. read more

Waitress was rude and charged us for soft drinks even though we were leaving because they didn't have any pizza by the slice! Terrible customer service. They lost my credit card when we paid for our meal. No one ever came over to explain what they were doing to remedy the situation. When we finally called the owner over to ask what was going on, she told us she would call us if they found it. We never heard from them, not we're so sorry, nothing. I have gone three times and each time this place has been disappointing. First off , the food is too expensive and it takes 30 minutes for bad pizza. Second off, the TVs weren't working. I don't know how this place isn't ranked as the top pizza place in Kentucky, much less Louisville. I read somewhere where someone was complaining about not them not having cheese pizza but every time I've gone they've had it, and they have a great variety. The staff is wonderful, and the quality of the food is outstanding. If you like thin crust New York style pizza this is the best place to go in Louisville. The crust is crispy with a great flavor. Every pizza they make has the perfect amount of cheese and toppings. They have salads that are always fresh and made to order. My husband likes their Caesar salad with house dressing over any other restaurant's. If I have a choice on where I go for pizza it is 99 times out of 100 I want to go to old school New York Pizza. read more

This is our second visit to Old School NY Pizza in Prospect, KY. We're from Ohio and come down to KY in the spring for a getaway. After our accidental find of this place last year, we sought it out this year and will probably do so each time we're in the area. The garden salad was extremely fresh and delicious. My husband and I went here for dinner on Friday. The server comes back with my credit card slip and my card was missing. I told the server, my card isn't in here. The server comes over and takes the book and looks and says, um, is it behind the slips, I said, no, it's not in here. The server was flustered and said, let me look for it. She goes back to the checkout area and goes to her other sections and keeps walking around looking to see if she dropped my card. We are sitting there for awhile and she doesn't come back, nobody comes back to us. I see a different server and I said, can I speak with the manager, the woman said, I'm the owner. I said, your server lost my card. Her response, oh, I'm really sorry about that, we've all been looking for it. If you want to leave us your name and number we'll call you if it turns up. So, the owner/manager had no intention on coming over to talk to me about it if I wouldn't have asked for a manager. I left my number and no phone call last night or today to say whether or not they found my card. I am absolutely shocked at how nonchalant they were about LOSING my debit card. read more

Showed up 45 minutes later, and the order wasn't even started. Waited in my car for 30 minutes while they made it, then went in to find out they gave my pizza away to someone else. When I asked for a refund, a very rude owner questioned me why and then told me mistakes happen and if I didn't like it, I should order from Pappa Johns.
