We were in the area for a show and decided to stop in. We were seated quickly. Service was friendly. They were busy, so it was a little slow. We ordered the rice balls for an appetizer. They were good. Not great, but good. I had the pappardelle for my entree and it was amazing. My mom had the mussels and she really enjoyed them as well. Had Old Stone Trattoria last night for dinner and it was great! I ordered the baked gnocchi which is gnocchi with tomato sauce and mozzarella on top and it was delicious. I also had garlic knots which were good, but I was surprised by how small they were. I ordered takeout with my family and another so it was a pretty big order. We got it delivered and they said it should be delivered within an hour or an hour and a half but unfortunately it was a little longer than that. It was, however, a Friday night, so I am sure they were busy at the restaurant and in the kitchen so I can not blame them too much for the delay. The food was great but I do think it might be better to eat at the restaurant as the food will be warmer and the service will likely be better. I have not eaten at the restaurant for a long time and I am looking forward to when I do! read more

Our 5yr old had just the cheese pizza - he loved it (to us, the taste was not necessarily anything to write home about but the crust, again, was terrific). After sitting down and then reading some of the harsh reviews of this place, I was admittedly a little concerned. But none of the negatives came to pass during our family meal here this fourth of July. Instead, we had a great meal that we will never, ever forget. As much I'd like to say the memory was made thanks to the food we ate here, the truth is our experience was memorialized the moment Bill Clinton stopped by the window and peeked his big ole head in. This being my first trip to Chappaqua, I had joked with my in-laws on the ride over as to whether we would run into Bubba dining here, and of course no one expected that would happen. But then lo and behold, I am staring the man in the eye as he looks through the window. Understand now that I am the *last* person to go gaga over celebrity sightings. And even if deep-down I am somewhat excited by seeing someone famous, I have a rule to never bother them. But my mother-in-law would have none of it, and thought this was the opportunity of a lifetime for the grandchildren. And to her credit, Mr. President seemed to be fishing for attention by peering in the window. Long story short, we followed him outside and asked for a photo, which he happily obliged. (Several photos, actually.) He even hung out for a bit, let us play with his two dogs, and was essentially the same charming man that you have always seen on TV. Pretty amazing. He really is larger than life. As for the food, well, turns out Clinton is a frequent visitor to the Old Stone Trattoria. And let's face it, Bubba knows a good meal when he sees it. (Although it was clear from the photo, Hillary's keeping him very trim.) Well, I must say I had one of the more delicious plates of pasta that I have had in a long time. It was a simple dish that I ordered: Whole wheat penne baked with eggplant and marinara sauce, and topped with a layer of fresh mozzarella. Dishes like this all come down to the gravy. My friend Marc N's family makes the best gravy I've ever had, and this was pretty damn close. You cannot get this much flavor without making it from scratch, and cooking it for hours and hours on end. It was absolutely delicious. My mother-in-law and wife shared an eggplant wedge. (Normally, being from NJ and all, I refuse to call subs "wedges," but I'll be nice in this case given that I was dining in the Wedge Belt.) MIL and wifey said it was very good. My manorexic father-in-law had a small Chappaqua Salad, but wasn't able to finish it. (smh) And my son, the healthy eater he is, had a giant slice of chocolate layer cake and only ate the icing off the top and back. A classic family dinner. Old Stone Trattoria, truth be told, is technically just a glorified pizza joint. But they've decorated it such that it feels like you are dining in someone's house. And the BYOB policy is nice given that they have a liquor store literally right next door. I did not try the pizza unfortunately, as that would be the true measure of this place's greatness. But I did spy an artichoke and spinach pizza on whole wheat crust on the menu, which I most certainly will come back for. And who knows, maybe next time Bubba will come in and join me for a slice. We figured on a quick birthday dinner on a Monday night. Must have been the B-team tonight because it took FOREVER! My Mom ordered sole with lemon sauce. When our meals all arrived, we were told there was a mix-up with Mom's dish. OK, we started eating while they went back to work wth Mom's dish. When it arrived 15 minutes later, it was the wrong dish again. Another 15 minutes later, third time was the charm and they got it right. We had brought a birthday cake to celebrate. To make up for the snafu with Mom's dish, we were all offered coffee or cappucinos, so we took them up on it. Unfortunately, they brought us the cappucinos but didn't get around to serving the birthday cake until another 15 minutes after we finished our cappucinos! We had to ask for the check and finally got it. Total elapsed time: 2-1/2 hours (no kidding)! This experience would have knocked them all the way down to one star, but the staff was gracious, so they get one star back. read more

My personal favorite is the chicken Siciliana (basically chicken parm with a layer of eggplant in between the chicken and cheese). Pizza Station is OK but not great - same goes for Pizza 238 in Millwood. But then came along Old Stone, and they had nothing on this place! Great place, great service. Lost me as a customer today after being a customer since the restaurant opened. I ordered the sausage, peppers and Onions pizza and asked the person to "substitute" peppers for mushrooms. They charged me price by topping. Once I told them that they charged extra - the person who just charged my card, just shrugged and said "that's not it it works". Well the person taking my order on the phone did not mention that substitutions are not allowed. It's less about $4 extra - more about treating customers well when they have an issue. Ordered for take out the first time tonight. I'm house sitting in the area and decided to try it out, despite so many bad reviews. I have to say, I should have listened to the reviews. I ordered a cold antipasto, the specialty clam pizza with no bacon and baked manicotti. All were pretty averagely priced for Westchester. Let's start with the cold antipasto. I never got it, it was a chef's salad. I do have to say the greens looked fresh in this salad but it wasn't what I ordered. Remember the clam pizza with no bacon? Well it came with bacon. Two strikes. The woman on the phone even repeated my order back to me so I'm confused as to where the miscommunication would be? Ate it anyway, was fairly tasty but I'm not a huge fan of the taste of salt (hence no bacon) so I'm not very happy. The baked manicotti was quite literally plain ricotta cheese wrapped in a pasta topped with what tasted like grocery store brand shredded mozzarella and a watery out-of-the-can tasting marinara sauce. The one really good thing I can say about Old Stone Trattoria is that the garlicky bread that came with the pasta was very soft and tasty. Overall very unhappy with my experience and I highly doubt I will be ordering from here ever again. read more

WOW!!! This lil gem is Deliziosa!!! I am visiting from LA and find myself back here for the second time in one day! The brick oven fresh bread is by far the best I've ever had the pleasure of feasting on! The homemade ravioli was amazing and the sauce was spot on nice and smooth not the chunky kind that so many places serve. My husbands Cesar was fresh, crisp and perfect as well as the lunch sandwich special they served up.
