Growing up in the restaurant business in New York and being Italian I can appreciate good Italian food out here in Westchester. I've read some of the sophomoric poor reviews from young men who seem to have experienced "split the bill" service commensurate with their lack of knowledge about how to act eating out. When you intend to split the bill you notify your server BEFORE, preferably as you sit down. Surprise, but you are not the only people being served. Time to grow up boys read more

Me and my kids were driving through Chappaqua and saw this cute little restaurant. We stopped in to eat and we were so surprised! The atmosphere was so cozy and the dining room was so nice. The food was outstanding, the staff was so friendly and the service was great! I tried their special, lemon sole and shrimp oreganata and was so impressed. My daughters tried the personal thin crust pizza and it was so flavorful and cooked to perfection. We will definitely be returning here! read more

The pizza here was very good!! But I can't say the same about our waiter. The waiter here seemed annoyed by our party of 6, didn't want to help us find a table outside, and when giving us things seemed to have an attitude. Old Stone has appallingly unprofessional staff members who handle mishaps (caused by their own stupidity, no less) in an incredibly rude and moronic way. The restaurant forgot some of our food in a takeout order, but that could easily have been fixed (despite the fact that they not only forgot to put the food we paid for in the bag, but actually forgot to MAKE it). However, their staff members' way of handling the situation was incredibly unprofessional, disorganized, slow, and rude. The issue was seemingly resolved when we were promised a full refund on the meal, which we then brought into the restaurant. Upon arriving, however, the man who promised us a refund refused point blank to give us any money, and then incited a stupid and pointless argument with us. He used obscene language and was patronizing, offensively impolite, ridiculously unprofessional, loud, and very unintelligent. After realizing that arguing with him was akin to arguing with a wall of lesser intelligence, we left without our food OR our money. HECTOR - the man being discussed - should be fired for mistreating customers and being an all-around jerk. I would rate their customer service at 0 stars if I could. read more

Terrible food. We tried a family style chicken dish that was supposed to feed four but they only gave us two and a half chicken cutlets. Their homemade salad dressing tastes disgusting, with lemon and olive oil, no garlic or seasoning.... Stay away from this restaurant. Not worth it!! read more

From the outside, Old Stone Trattoria looked welcoming and inviting, and when we stepped inside it looked great! The environment inside was nice and comfortable. We were seated to a table very quickly(despite the dinner rush). The service was prompt, attentive and really friendly. I had the baked ziti, and my accomplices had the pasta bolognese, and Chicken Parm. All of our dishes were delectable, but the highlight of our night was the amazing ragu! A couple of my friends suggested that I try Old Stone. I got tired of them raving about their pies so I did and I am glad I took their suggestion. Very good brick oven pies. If you don't like what they have on the menu they will make whatever creation you would like. Whatever you do you will not be disappointed it is all good. Took forever for food, and when it arrived it was burnt on the outside and cold on the inside. The chef saw it and didn't offer to make another one. Then the pizza we had ordered we substituted additional mushrooms instead of broccoli, and when the waitress asked if we wanted sauce on it, of course we said yes. We were stuck paying for the sauce as an extra as well as the mushrooms that were substituted for the broc. They should have told us! Cold inside too. read more

I love everything about this place. It's sicilian pizza is every bit as good as DeFaro's. Their shrimp parmagianna is wonderful. And they make , as specials, salads in cheese baskets. Their tapanada that is served with their bread is perfectly flavored. The service is wonderful and the prices gentle. I've brought dozens of people there who love it. My only complaint is that it oftentimes is justifiably crowded and you'll have to wait for a table. read more

I have lived in Westchester County my entire life of 57 years. I moved to Chappaqua Three years ago and discovered Old Stone Trattoria. This is not a pizza place, BUY rather a GREAT Italian restaurant with daily specials that are not only affordable but better than any restaurant i have been to in many years. The EGGPLANT Parm dinner is the best i have ever tasted. The chicken Marsala is cooked to perfection and the portions are huge. The environment is cozy and the service is very friendly and knowledgeable. Say Hi to Angelo the owner who once again has managed to create a dining experience second to none in the area. read more

If I could give this place one star I would. Family visiting us and we took them here for a nice slice of pizza. From the minute we walked into the place we were basically ignored. Our server was a dark haired woman with an attitude. The service was non existent. When seated, we were not given a menu or even a smile. The place smelled like air freshener, not food. This should have alerted me to the bad experience yet to come. We ordered pizza and iced tea. The server either didnt understand us or didn't care, because we had to get up and find our own drinks. The food finally arrived, barely luke warm. crazy, given the fact that we waited a long time and they have a hot oven, we were surprised. the worst part of the day? picking up the napkin and it was USED. the waitress grabbed it out of my hand without a word. Tried the eggplant Parmesan dinner was more oil in there than eggplant. Extremely soggy, under seasoned , a very unpleasant meal. My fork was pulling through a pool of oil and sogginess. The pasta that came with it had a marinara sauce on it that tasted like bitter tomato paste straight from a can. The only thing we like from here is the buffalo chicken pizza. Have been coming here since it first opened. At first, the food was great, and despite the higher than average prices, it was worth the visit. Quality however has come down since. My last pizza take out visit had me with a burned pie (first for me). Owner ignored my call to report what I assumed to be a mistake. Well, I guess they do not care about losing one customer .... I have now had 4 experiences at Old Stone and all four have been very very disappointing. My family and i usually order takeout from them. Every.single.time no matter what day or time i am told it will be a 30 minute wait. That would be fine except that every time i go to pick it up, i end up waiting AT LEAST another 30-50 minutes. It's easily an hour before my food is actually ready. Now, i should mention that the restaurant is small and cramped and every time i go to pick up my orders, there's a huge crowd also waiting. It's incredibly claustrophobic and the staff always looks overwhelmed and rushed by how many orders they have. I feel that they are not honest with their customers about how long it will really be for the food to be ready and they just say 30 minutes so they don't lose the customers money. Last night, we decided instead of ordering take out, we'd give them another chance and actually eat at the restaurant hoping the service would be quicker. WRONG. All i ordered for my 2 year old was French fries. An HOUR later i had to ask where they were. They still took another 10 minutes to come and they were so scalding hot she couldn't eat them. We did not order any appetizers and none of our orders were complicated in any way. By the time all our food was served, we had been sitting and waiting over an hour. Now, while they were very busy, i still find no excuse for this. The kitchen is just clearly too small and not equipped for so many people & food orders other than pizza. It's very sad bc their food is really quite delicious but sadly, i think last night was the final straw for us. We will not be going there again unless there are major improvements made in time management. read more

Fast service, excellent thin crust pizza and the best penne vodka in the county. We order from here at least once a week and are always happy with the food., The pizza is excellent and has a thin, crispy and perfect crust. I always go to pick up but the service is very quick. read more

There are Italian restaurants and there are ITALIAN RESTAURANTS...like the kind that your Italian wife who is an excellent cook of the Italian cuisine gives a thumbs up too. All I can say is that this is a hidden secret in Westchester that shouldn't be (ahem, hello Best of Westchester, listen up). Angelo's family recipes and the love that goes into it shows in every dish. It's Pasta with Red Clam Sauce for my wife and the Chicken Scarpariello for me...and of course the pasta slices which seem to be a favorite with all the kids in Chappaqua...and beyond. im a connoisseur of pizza . from the moment i walked in i was impresesd the layout is a mix of a classic Quick service pizza place with classy low light ambience of a resturant. to make for quick service and good atmosphere . but honestly i dont care about the service when i eat out even tho i enjoy being waited on, i pay more attention to the quality and taste of the food. good cheese has less oil baked into it so when u cook it less oil comes out when i folded their slice not a drop of greese fell on my plate! that means they stock quality. the pizza isent the only good thing on the menu tho my wife ordered shrimp scampi and in it was the largest shrimp ive ever seen anywere!!! u never get this kind of service and quality food at a pizzaplace plan to go for lunch tommarow read more

Stopped here by pure luck after a long daytrip. Turns out to be one of the best pizzerias I've been to in the tri-state area. The fresh, homemade bread served as an appetizer was warm, tasty, and just like grandmas homemade bread. All meals were very good, tender, cooked just right and large portions.. My sandwich was just the right combination of Tender chicken cutlets, fresh panini bread, Swiss cheese and French dressing. Basically, All ingredients were of high quality (first bite said everything ). . Five stars through and through and will visit again if ever in the area. read more
