First tried this pizza a few weeks ago and loved the deep dish. Called tonight and the opted to pick up the pizza being there was a 60-90 minute wait for both delivery and carry-out. 20 people were waiting for their food when my husband walked in and one guy called at 6:10 pm (we called at 6:30) and they hadn't even made his pizza. After waiting another 25 minutes past the time we was told to get there (7:45 pm) come to find out the 2 boxes sitting on the counter for those 25 minutes were ours. Crust was hard all the way around, bottom too. So very disappointed and I will be calling them to speak to an adult manager tomorrow - 4 high school kids were running the place and obviously had no idea what was going on. Very small area for dining in - opt for delivery and cross your fingers they didn't forget you AND made you the right food. read more

Not only is the food from this place incredible, but all of the staff is fantastic. Some kick ass people with great senses of humor. I believe our delivery guy was Terrance and I must say he is quite a fantastic person for following my special request and messing with my boyfriend. Our pizza also came right on time! My husband and I are trying to find good, New York style pizza and heard about Fat Ricky's through my mother. They have a great deal where you can get two slices of pizza and a can soda for 6.00 bucks. The pizza slices are relatively large and really good! But not like New York pizza. It is just as greasy which was great but the crust was like a cracker. Other than that, they have a great menu with a lot of choices. The place was small and more like a geab lunch and go type of joint. The cashier was nice and friendly and everything was clean. It is located in a very odd place though. They probably don't get much business because of its location alone. Definitely try it and help them out by passing on the good word. read more

First time there, ordered a pizza, burger and a few salads. I must say we actually waited 46 minutes for the burger. They made an excuse that they were waiting on the buns, then served the wrong burger. Most disappointing was the lack of caring from the 10 employees that were there. If I can do no stars I would. We tried them for the first time and were very disappointed. My husband waited over 30 minutes for 6 hotdogs, 1 beef and 4 fries. The wait was because they ran out of buns and had to send someone to the store. He didn't get anything for the wait and when he got home the food was not worth the wait. This place is a train wreck. It is ran by kids. When placing an order by phone it sounds as if the girl is inside the pizza oven. This usually creates orders that are incorrect. The pizza is super inconsistent. Most of the time it is chard or burnt. They are more expensive than their competitor and no where near the quality of any pizza place around. Yum. I don't give 5 star ratings, I think there is always room for improvement. That being said I can't justify anything other than 5 stars when I felt like someone's Grandmother made my family a pizza, lasagna and a kids macaroni from scratch. My husband had been here before. But unfortunately today service was really bad. I'll disclaim he said it's never been this bad. First it took 20 min to get our order (no one else was ahead of us or eating in), but it wasn't all correct. They forgot our fries and the wings were supposed to be naked. Then the server came back after 5 min to ask if we'd like to pay for the fries as they weren't on the receipt. Really not our fault she excluded them! So my husband made a comment that they should come free but we don't want to wait any longer at this point. I had the Italian sausage it was ok but the giardiniera was very spicy. My son had a slice of pizza which was ready right away at least. I won't go out if my way to come back. read more

We have a love-hate relationship with this new and poorly run pizza joint. We want to like it, but we've had three really bad experiences. I don't think we'll ever order from them again. Strike 1: Ordered a variety of sandwiches, no pizza. The breaded steak sandwich was so overcooked, I pitched half of it. They also blew the order, so we had to call to get a credit - which of course they never sent through. The manager was too busy to talk to us. Strike 2: Next week, we ordered two pizzas, one was a deep dish special. Two bites into it and I got a bite of RAW sausage. Completely pink, chewy and rubbery. Called and the manager was too busy to talk to me (again). Asked them to send a replacement and they said it would take 90 minutes! (only reason we wanted a second pizza is because my husband really liked the pizza - the half a piece he was able to enjoy before losing his appetite when he also ran into raw sausage). Strike 3: Unbelievably, the replacement pizza they sent out was worse than the first. The center of the pizza was soup (not cooked) and there was raw, nasty sausage throughout! Called again, had to ask twice to talk to manager. He was completely uninterested and said he would credit the pizza. It's a shame because it seems like they could have a really decent pizza. We're guessing it's just a new place with an inexperienced manager or something. I suggest avoiding this place until they get things under control. read more

In my ongoing quest to try every by-the-slice pizza place in Naperville, we traveled just outside Naperville to try Fat Ricky's Old World Pizza in Plainfield. First, the place was extremely warm. Asked if the A/C was on, and was told that it was, but that the heat from the kitchen simply overwhelms it. Sitting at a table under a ceiling fan made it bearable. Next, a word about pizza, in general: the spice that makes pizza what it is, is anise. I could not discern even a hint of anise in this pizza. In short, it did not taste like pizza . . . yet, it was DELICIOUS. THAT must be what "old world pizza" tastes like! I could not place the flavor, but both the sausage slice and the pepperoni slice were very flavorful, the grease slightly pooling and dripping off as I folded and bit into each. My wife had a coupon for "Buy one Italian beef, with fries and a can of soda, and get a free Italian beef", but she wanted a Combo (Italian beef and sausage). They kindly allowed her the substitution. Unfortunately, the Italian beef was dry, tasteless, and seemed as though the flavor had all been cooked out of it. Even putting marinara sauce on top could not hide that. Here's an odd thing: both the before mentioned coupon and the $5 special (2 slices and a soda for $5), specified that the soda must be a "can", not a fountain soft drink. With only 12 ounces to drink, and no chance for a refill, we really had to sip and conserve. read more

If I could give it zero stars, I would. We ordered 2 thin crust pizzas from there this afternoon. A family size and a medium. There were hardly any toppings on both pizzas and they completely forgot the green peppers on our family size pizza. I ordered 1/2 mushrooms and spinach on the medium and you could barely see the mushroom because there were so few of them. I called and spoke w/ the manager and he said that he would give me 20% off my next order. Umm...you mess up our order and you only offer 20% off. Not very good business!! I was missing pizza and was surprised they offer a Gluten free option. Their Gluten free pizza is one of the yummiest around. Almost like eating regular pizza. Downside is you can only get a small. Little pricey, but that's typical, not out of line with anyone else and this tastes good! read more

This is one of our go to's in town. If you love pasta you will surely love this neat little place. We always go on two for one pasta night on Mondays. I love the spaghetti ala carbonara it is my favorite there but my boyfriend has had a lot of the other dishes there and has said they have been tasty and flavorful too. The bread it comes with is also delicious and is served with real butter. One time when I got home I noticed they did mess up my order but I called and they delivered the right order quickly and apologized. I ordered online. When I arrived they had not received my order. I handed them a printout of my order and patiently waited for my order of Lasagna, Italian beef and fries. After 20 minutes I received my order and an apology (so far so good) I opened the bag and saw three items. I took them home. I then discovered that the 3rd item was bread for the lasagna not fries. I called and asked for the manager, I was put on hold and then many minutes later I was disconnected. I ate my meal and called again. I asked for the manager, I was connected to a young man who claimed to be a manager. He then said I had to talk to the other manager. He put me on hold and many minutes later I was disconnected. Terrible service! Got the wrong order by ordering online and when we tried to get the correct pizza with no hassle the blamed their computer system. We catered Fat Ricky's on January 28th for a baby shower . The food was good and done on time as usual . The bill was $250.00 . Well apparently there was a snafu and my daughters account was charged twice . She called the store and was told this happened to everyone that day and she would be refunded in a couple days . Well after a couple days still nothing . She called back and they were very nice and apologetic but still no refund . They had her call the GM at the Romeoville location and he explained it was the processing company that was taking so long . Well almost a month later and no refund . They have not contacted her to update on the refund . This was not a $25 lunch order it was $250 . We have catered from there before and even recommended them to people . I really, really wanted to love this place! First ordered October 1st - medium pizza, two salads, tiramisu for delivery. It took 2 hours. TWO HOURS! I had to call and check on it after an hour and fifteen minutes. Told it would be ready in another 15. It arrived at the 2 hour mark. When I called, the girl answering the phone asked if i was sure I ordered that long ago. (Check your records, I checked my phone) When I asked the delivery guy about the normal delivery time, he asked if I was sure and said they just opened and were working through issues and would check with the manager. I never heard from them and they did not learn their lesson but soon would! At the insistance of a friend, I gave them another try. The second order arrived on time but was wrong. Salad dressing was missing and there were a couple ingredients on the salad that were asked to be left off. If a salad is pre-made and ingredients cannot be removed that should be stated as some people have food sensitivities and don't want problem foods on an order. After reading someone's review from 4 days ago, I will not be ordering again. They obviously are not interested in customer service or quality control. I will not order again. read more

The pastas are great. I love the arrabiatta, but the Sante Fe is the best. The portions are huge. A pasta meal will feed you dinner one night and lunch the next day. I went with the pizza the last time I ordered. The stuffed pizza is very good. I've had pizza all over the city and suburbs and the stuffed pizza here is among the best. I've ordered from Fat Ricky's for a while since moving to Plainfield. The pizza is pretty good, however, the service is quite poor. Almost every time I've picked up a pizza, I've had to wait. I don't have an issue with 5-10 minutes, a little inconvenient, but not a big deal. When I came to pick up a small gluten free pizza and medium regular pizza, the promise time was 7:00. I came in a few minutes after 7 and the employee behind the counter told me it would be 5-10 minutes, they seemed busy at the time so I didn't mind waiting. I waited 25 minutes before asking that same employee if my food would be ready soon. She came back with the gluten free pizza ready to go but informed me that the order for the regular pizza was never put in and it would be an additional 15 minutes, 40 minutes after the promise time. I was very frustrated, I know that is not her fault, but I would have appreciated them telling me from the beginning that the entire order had not been put in rather than telling me it would be 5 minutes. They offered to deliver the pizza I'd waited for, which was nice but arrived over an hour past our promise time. Unfortunately I will not be back after this visit. read more

Better loosen up your wallet. consistently when ordering online I have experienced discrepancies will the total when I come in to pick up and sign for the purchase. this actually occurred once when the owner Ricky was in. I spoke with him about the the misrepresented price online compared to when I pick up and go to sign the receipt. He tells me that he will fix. again I order online and go to pick up only to find that the tax issue online has still not been corrected. spoke with a district manager who tries explaining the flaw stating that the pricing for the ingredients and taxes online is off. well duh... rather than adjusting the price like any normal Manger would do he would rather lose a customer. Calling BBB and filing complaint and for fraudulent practices. all they needed to do was fix the website. wonder how many others may have noticed the difference. Shame on you Ricky! read more

I love this place, pretty good thin crust pizza and can't lose with the pasta dishes. The homemade ranch is one of best, I always order a gallon of it in the side to dip the zah in! They have a drive thru, which makes it thatch easier to get the two slice combo. Highly recommended read more

I really had high-hopes for Fat Ricky's. I picked up the thin crust pizza and it completely fell apart and was gross. Not sure how they call this pizza. After informing them via Facebook, my comment was deleted so I decided to post here instead. I figured they had a 12 year old make this pizza so I gave them a second chance with a deep dish order. I must say, this was good. I'm giving one star because I'd like to see them make improvements to their thin crust (listen to your customers, Ricky). It's not what you like - if you want to stay in business, you must have a product that no others have, and you don't have it.....yet. I'll change my rating when you change your pizza. read more
