Mw and my wife was going out for our weekly date night and decided to give OWT a try we got the app sample tray it was delicious i really enjoyed the loaded pretzels Wife drank bud light and they was ice cold I was driving so I drank soda we than decided to order a meal I ordered the ribeye wife got the newyork strip both was cooked to perfection steak was really tender S well as juicy the service was excellent they was packed and the waitress did a amazing job of keeping us in drinks and kept asking if everything was ok we got there approx 6 pm to a 30 minute wait and they had no problem what's so ever for us to order drinks from the bar while we waited I'm looking forward to going back read more

Had an incredibly long work day, and looked for restaurants that were still open, I was really hoping for a good craft burger, but after looking at options I was concerned. We had driven by several times and noticed there were always lots of cars. Decided to give it a try. We are glad we did. I had the ribeye steak and my wife had the ribeye sandwich. Both meals were good. The place was busy but our waitress handled it well. Typical tavern setting, los of TVs, bar seating appeared to be full. And the noise of people enjoying themselves. Updating my review and still giving them overall a good review because the food is fresh and very good every time. We got the tavern burger, appetizer sampler with the awesome southwest egg rolls and pretzel bites with cheese in the middle, wings and their amazing sauces. Great food is what's most important when reviewing a restaurant ultimately. Some important things to note though, and I'll explain why I'm docking a star from my previous review: First, don't try ordering takeout from Yelp/Grubhub! This restaurant has stopped participating with Grubhub. I totally understand why, but there's been no notice whatsoever about this change. I ordered takeout the night before thanksgiving, as I'm sure many did. I was getting ready to leave about a half hour later to go get my food when I got an automated email and text simply stating my order was cancelled and that I would be refunded. I called the restaurant finally and asked, and that was when I learned this news. I placed an order anyway and waited about another half hour because my wife was really in the mood for some excellent pub food, and Olde Well comes through when it comes to that every single time. This second part of the explanation is tough for me to write because I don't want to get political. I want to make it clear that I don't care about your beliefs, nor do I want to impose my own in a review. Despite what our government has done to politicize public health, however, I do believe that a time of public health emergency means that people and businesses should be doing the best they can to take basic precautions for public safety while still managing to make money during the pandemic. Sadly, Olde Well has basically turned to ignoring the fact that we're still in a pandemic with spiking cases everywhere. When I arrived at the restaurant to retrieve my takeout, the place was packed shoulder to shoulder with customers around the bar and tables, there was live music, and I was the lone soul wearing a mask. Even the staff and owner were no longer even pretending to wear masks. Despite the bottle of hand sanitizer at the entrance, this restaurant is ignoring public health measures completely. I understand needing to make money and run your business, especially now. I also understand making an educated choice on whether you frequent a business and risk getting/spreading Covid vs. choosing to stay home. But it is most important to be informed, and that's what I mean to do here by writing this paragraph. If you go to Olde Well Tavern during this time, for food or otherwise, you are taking a big risk. Finally, they did get my order wrong by giving me sidewinder fries instead of chili cheese fries, but the food was delicious anyway. If not for the pandemic, I would highly recommend eating at Olde Well and enjoying the live music and friendly staff and family ownership. The food is fresh and great, and I root for local businesses to do well. Based on the display I saw the other night, however, I sadly won't be back until I feel safer to do so. read more

Your food is cooked when ordered. It may take a while to get your order depending how many orders are ahead of you. Service is good.The wait staff work extra hard to serve everyone. I went to the Olde Well Tavern tonight for dinner. The waitress told me the Burger meal was tonight's special for $ 11.00 and included 1 side. Normal price is $13.50. I ordered the burger medium and it came out well done. Burger was fair at best. I selected a salad as my side which was good. The waitress was excellent. Now here is my problem. When the bill came they charged me $ 13.50 for the burger. When I asked the waitress she told me maybe it was because I selected a salad? By the way the salad was the lowest priced side on the menu. I had told the waitress I was from out of town and maybe they thought I was a one time customer. Little did the know I have business interest in the area and spend 3 days per month. If you're hungry and in Lexington /- stop and eat!! Remember the outside of the building is a dated building -- keep walking inside!! Had heard good things about this place so decided to give it a try... Anyone who knows me knows I travel far and wide in search of good food. This place was really cool! I had the 1/2lb burger with fries and it was excellent! It was cooked just right and was a gracious plenty. Also the had a large selection of beer both on draft and in the bottle. The customer service was superior and I had the opportunity to speak with the husband/wife duo that owned it. Can't wait to go back and try the hotdog and shrimp Po Boy and wings which also looked appealing. I'd definitely recommend this place as the food was absolutely delicious! read more

This is our "spot" for excellent pub food. The interior is warm and cozy without the overwhelming sports bar swag hanging everywhere ( tidy bathrooms too). The big "U" shaped bar makes socializing easy along with the communal hightops. Owners Jerry & Mandy's friendly demeanor makes you always feel at home & is reflected in the staff. They do their very best to accommodate special orders and preferences. Once I decided to shake up my usual order and I was double checked on twice by the owners to make sure the servers didn't make a mistake taking my order. Wings are to die for- we LOVE the Carolina Reaper sauce. It's got a slow burning heat with a tangy citrus flavor that is very unique...lip-smacking good! Note they make their own dressing too....I hate eating wings with a greasy bottled/premade dressing....there are no good dressings unless you make them- period. Have enjoyed the cheesesteaks and a few other items but it is hard to pass up the wings....the best place we have found since moving here 18 months ago by far. The burgers are a solid choice with good quality beef and a decent but. You won't find exotic or gourmet toppings but the pimento cheese with bacon is scrumptious & they "nail" the temperatures ( Wish they were more consistent on serving a better quality pickle though- not a fan of the "cooked" mushy yellow pickles). The spinach salad with goat cheese, nut and craisins is as tasty as it is colorful and can be ordered in a half size when you dont want to indulge in fries. You'll find an excellent selection of craft beers both on tap & in the cooler as well we basic Anheuser Bush selections etc. Many weekends Marty the guitarist is playing or other local talents, along with a midweek Trivia night and Taco specials. Very busy place when we dined there on a Wednesday in late October. We were seated promptly, the staff were all polite and masked. The beer menu was on a chalk board which I had a difficult time reading but we settled on a couple of local light brews and dined on delicious wings and fries. Service was great! Clean and super friendly. Because of previous sited reviews ordered the southwest egg rolls ... they did not disappoint! Tavern burger perfect! Great wings and an amazing amount of beer on tap. My husband order the ribeye plate ... steak was delicious. Also... amazing sidewinder fries!!!
