I always start with the good news: very good service and meat cooked just right. Now for the bad news: 1) Overpriced for what you get, 2) 20-oz steak was served on a very small plate which was weird so we asked for larger plate-did not look like their pics of a 20-oz steak, 3) out of both brussels sprouts and cobbler on a Sunday with few guests, 4) the twice-cooked potato was just mashed potato in a small serving dish, not put back in skin, and 5) a large group was upstairs celebrating and getting louder (not a separate room for large parties) and noise really carried. read more

We saw all of the reviews and went in with some skepticism. We were very pleasantly surprised. From the drinks at the bar, to the great oysters and shrimp from the raw bar, to the fantastic steaks and enormous lobster tail all of the food was awesome. Our server was from the Marsha Brown era at the restaurant and she didn't miss a beat, fantastic service. The new manager was visiting tables and told us that there are new executive chefs in the kitchen. I would suggest trying Oldstone again if you had a poor experience in the past...I know they won't disappoint. read more

OldeStone is a legit steakhouse. Multiple prime cuts plus chicken, pork chop, veal chop, fish and a vegetarian option. I got the ribeye and my wife got the petite filet. They nailed it. Cooked perfect and tasted fantastic. The sides were also delish: parm truffle fries & honey glazed Brussels and bacon. We went light on the apps: shishito peppers and oysters. Both excellent. Our waiter, Jorge, was a pro. Cocktails were tasty and appealing to the eye. And the wine list, while not expansive, had good choices across the price spectrum. It would be great to see them refresh the ambiance and make it their own. Still feels like Marsha Brown. If there is no concern of historical society revolt, start with the huge mural that I always found a bit out of place in a civil war era former church. read more

It's just a matter of time (and not a whole lot of it) before this place closes. We did not eat here but came to the bar for drinks. We were here last month and got regular sized drinks. This time we got tiny drinks. Mine was 3oz (it should be about 5 or 6 oz) and was $5 more than when I ordered it last month. I guess the owner has to find a way to make money given that the bar was at about 30% capacity on a beautiful Saturday night. Avoid this bar like the plague! read more

I went to the Oldestone a month after it opened with a group of 6 business clients. To say it was beyond bad was an understatement. I still get jokes to this day and vowed never to go back. My wife and I received a gift certificate and she wanted to try with our 2 daughters. I was extremely hesitant as it was the same menu. I reluctantly agreed. We all where blown away with the food and service. I asked the waitress, what changed and she said that a new chef was in charge of the kitchen. I'm in the industry and I've seen transformations of quality in restaurants before, but never to this degree and with the same items. My hats off to the chef, staff and ownership that truly caring about what they server and the quality of your experience. We will be back often! Only thing I'm hoping for now is one day they bring back Marsha Browns creole's mussels. read more

We were big fans of Marsha Browns, but the new place retains enough of the old vibe to still make it feel like home. We sat at the bar for old times sake. Varied and affordable wine list and we made a perfectly satisfying meal with generously portioned sides and apps. Ryan at the bar gave terrific, good humored and knowledgeable service. We had some lovely ice cold dry rose by the glass, the Mac and cheese and Brussels appetizers. And they still serve the hot bread! (Rolls now but very soft and tasty.) read more

I hate to pile on to the many bad reviews, but we came here last Saturday and was shocked at how bad it was. If you liked Marsha Brown's, you'll hate what became of it. Service staff was very nice, albeit slow. Between getting bread and drinks it took almost an hour to order the meal. Apps were good (seafood tower is still abundant), sad to see they got rid of the bacon rasher app though. An hour after ordering our waiter came by to tell us 3 things we ordered were not available (so, we are now at the 2-hr mark). We decided to not order anything additional, just bring the food. No kidding, the Grouper entree a friend received was the size of a toddler's palm. And the steak was extremely dense for a filet. They also informed us they were unable to make a red wine reduction sauce (what could they possible be out of?). We asked to see the manager and quite honestly he seems to not care a bit. Very non committal, aloof. The waiter offered to have the same manager take something off the bill. It turned out he chose to take off a side of parsnip mash. Backing out the wine the bill for 4 was over $130pp, and keep in mind one of us didn't get an entree. Choose another place, there are so many that are better. Oh, and valet isn't free anymore. Well, stopped in for dinner. Ordered a Yuengling lager- first one was tepid. Second one, after I asked for them to be put in ice- well it was cooler than the first. Wanted a salad- no idea of salad dressing, wanted Russian/Thousand Island on a wedge salad. went to New Hope....and wound up at the church. First two beers tepid and cool. No salad dressing Ordered a 12oz filet- Advertised - "Elite Prime"- choice at best. Had to saw a piece off. Definitely not Prime. Choice Or Select at best. Had a taste to it- I passed. My date ate it. Mackintosh (my dog) would be shitting on my floor...... She had some kind of ribs - wanted to trade. So much salt on them...passed. Definitely not Marsha Browns..... Overall, the food does not live up to the price. They were out of oysters. The bacon wrapped prawn was not worth $24 for 3 barely wrapped bacon prawn. The sauce that it came with was not good. The wedge salad was good but the cherry tomatoes tasted like they were a few days past their sell by date. The onion bread was stale. The steak was pretty good, along with the sautéed mushrooms. We also got the loaded baked potato - the potato was hard to cut into/through so I think it was microwaved for a bit too long. We ordered the ice cream and doughnuts for dessert. The doughnuts looked, smelled, and tasted very fried. Ice cream was ok but nothing to write home about. We had late reservations so there were a lot of open tables next to us. About 30 minutes into our meal, a couple was seated right next to us! Even though there were at least 20 open tables near us. The tables are close together so we basically sat with another couple for dinner. I can see if it's busy but it wasn't. Our server, Charlee was incredibly attentive and kind. The music upstairs was phenomenal!! MG3 band in the jazz lounge. I would go back to sit in the jazz lounge for a couple cocktails. read more

The 4 of us went to Oldestone tonight........They've got some work to do. This was the old Marsha Brown's, which had an amazing, unique creole style menu. Not including the drinks we had at the bar (which were watered down), dinner was $560. 12 oz filet was $64- it was a nice, lean cut of meat with absolutely zero flavor; I feel like it was baked in an oven. I've never eaten a filet with less flavor, and it was cooked nearly rare when I asked for medium to medium rare. I had to ask for a side sauce which was equally bad, a chunky teriyaki tasting sauce ( I NEVER get a dipping sauce with a filet). Sides- Brussels sprouts were undercooked and had little flavor. They had no mashed potatoes, so the waitress talked me into the twice baked potato. Again, the most flavorless potato I've ever had. I actually put salt on them(and my steak- I NEVER use salt). My wife had 3 scallops and a teaspoon of rice for her meal at $52. Appetizers-I ordered a shrimp cocktail: they were like the Acme shrimp ring, wet and slimy, just larger- yuck. They had a tuna ceviche, which was interesting. Our dinner mates had the 12 oz filet (similar review) and the acorn squash stuffed with quinoa (which she liked). You can't serve flavorless food at an absolutely premium price in a venue which previously housed some of the best food in Bucks county. Please figure it out or shut your doors now. Save yourself some money. My understanding was this was the executive chef from Marsha Browns who was going to have their own menu with some Marsha influence. None of that was evident tonight. This was our second time here at Oldestone. The first time, we were a little underwhelmed. Marsha Brown's had closed and those are YUUUGE shoes to fill. It wasn't bad, just wasn't Marsha's. That being said, we gave it another shot with our daughter, and I Have to say, it was excellent! Service was awesome, Justin was our server, and he was extremely personable, hardworking, and an all around good guy. The steak was very tasty, seasoned well and cooked to perfection. The sides are a little on the smaller side, especially for sharing since I could have eaten a whole side by myself. Of course, I'm a slob - but that's a different story. Anyway, I highly recommend this restaurant - especially because I'm from NY, and I have higher expectations for steak houses. read more

Chris S, the manager, went above and beyond to accommodate our family before, during and afterward the event. He made sure the private room was set up and all of our special requests were pleasantly taken care of. The location and decor of this Church turned restaurant is magical and the food was outstanding ! However, the best part of the experience was because of the staff and the service we received. This is a "Buyer Beware" restaurant. It's a beautiful space. However, for the high price point the food is average. Our biggest complaint was the server's (Lou M.) failure to disclose the actual cost of a very expensive MP entrée. Interestingly, he volunteered that another MP item on the menu - fresh East Coast oysters - were $3 each. When my wife ordered the twin lobster tails, another MP item, Lou lost his voice and failed to disclose the $120 price tag. Had he volunteered that information she would have passed on the item and ordered another entrée. Perhaps that likely change of heart is what caused Lou's sudden and momentary case of laryngitis. We didn't see the price until our bill was presented. Clearly over-priced, the lobster tails were mediocre in presentation, size and taste. The oysters were great. My $62 prime NY strip steak? Literally do not understand the low ratings. Bacon appetizer was so creative. My steak was cooked to a beautiful rare temp as requested. It was perfectly seasoned. It didn't need any of the side sauces, but each of them was delicious. Twice baked potato was so creamy. The creamed spinach was flavorful and loved the Parmesan crust. We were excited to go to this place. We loved it when it was Marsha Browns. We reserved a private room 3 weeks in advance (Dec 27, 2022), so they knew our party of 9 was coming that evening. It was a special occassion, where all parties drove 1 hour to get there. We were totally disappointed with the food, the drinks and our service was super slow. The bartender ended up being our waiter. The owner/manager, Chris, said he would give us a gift certificate for our inconvenience and poor service. I called and spoke with Chris over the phone 5 separate occassions and stated that we never got the gift certificate. After 2 months of lip service and nothing arriving in the mail, we will never go back here again. read more
