Food was good, but the place is TINY and LOUD. Everyone is on top of each other -- the cook, the cashier, the sit-down customers and the take-out customers. There are not nearly enough tables and seats. There are maybe a total of 6-8 two person tables (maybe a couple 4 person tables) on the inside and 8-10 two to four person tables outside; plus the take-out line and the regular food line is all the same so there is a constant state of confusion with everyone. The service was slow too. There is no wait staff so you have to go and stand in the take-out line when your food is ready and if there is no table for you, then guess what; you are now a take-out customer even if you don't want to be... Staff is friendly, but this is not a good place for a Saturday night unless you like noise, crowded places and not enough places to sit. read more

Despite the construction the restaurant is undergoing outside, it didn't change the taste of the food. Their plate sizes are generous and the atmosphere is fun and relaxing. Love Olive Tree because their food is consistent. Every time I go I always know that my food will be fresh and the same quality. I'm a huge fan on falafel and dolmas. Great food but too crowded. I can wait longer if I really want to have delicious Pita & Hummus. After almost a year I've been back here 2x in the last 2 weeks. The food is just as good as I remember it from the past. I must've gotten lucky these last 2 times, too, because we got a table right away. I can remember standing and hovering over tables of people clearly done with food but enjoying their wine and conversation for what felt like hours. Seemed like there were different faces at the counter so not sure if there are new owners or just new staff. I ordered my favorites: hummus with extra pita bread, mussels and greek salad. My friends also got the lamb soulvaki and and chicken dish. There is limited parking so we parked at Kahala mall and walked over. Think I might need to get take out soon when I'm in the area. I'm not the biggest fan of Greek food but the hummus here is awesome! If you like your hummus more bean-y this is the place to go! Friendly staff and there's a wine shop next door! It's BYOB so it works out great! I'm not a huge fan of their main dishes but that's because I'm not a huge Greek food fan. The atmosphere is always awesome! My favorite is sitting outside. It's a small restaurant with nice people working there. The food was delicious. We managed to snag a table outside before it was jammed packed. There were a lot of people, so it may be in your best interest to phone in your order. Even though it was very busy, we didn't have to wait a long time. We didn't have any cash on us and they were totally kind and told us to eat first and then find an ATM. So our food wouldn't get cold. The best item on the menu for vegetarians (in my opinion) is the falafel. The falafel is excellent and I understand that the fava beans in the falafel is imported from Greece or somewhere in the Middle East (I forgot exactly where...). So, the taste is simply exquisite! Went at 6 for dinner and we were lucky enough to get the last table. It gets very crowded so take-out is ideal. The falafel was too tiny and tasted dry but it was filled with many different spices, perfectly balancing each other out. I love their pita bread! We figured out you can buy a bag of pita bread from the wine store next door (the figs are good there too!). Their baklava is too big and sweet for one person, maybe for 2 or 3 people. It has the perfect amount of nut to honey to pastry ratio! Parking is hard in the tiny lot so if there isn't any parking there is a ton at the mall. I get Olive Tree cravings! Best Greek food on Oahu! Tabouleh is just the way I like it, with just the right balance of lemon and olive oil. Fine bulgar and lots of parsley! The chicken souvlaki is excellent...Especially if you like white meat. The greek salad & pita bread that comes with the platter is simple, but delicious because it's usually very fresh! The baklava can give you an orgasmic experience, but there have been a couple of times where it didn't live up to it's normal expectation.
