We anxiously awaited the opening of this restaurant. We had eaten at the one that used to be in the avenues once only and considered it subpar Mediterranean food served in a fast food environment. We were hopeful that now they were going to actually have a sit down restaurant, especially for as long as this restaurant to go up and open. It looks beautiful from the outside, but when you walk in, it's nothing but chaos you wind through a line the noise level is outrageous. You're rushed to place an order with an extremely long menu. I asked for a water cup and was told I had to buy water. I could not get a water cup even though they had a self serve soda fountain. They do deliver your food to your table however, all seating is outdoors with the mosquitoes. A robot brings the food out and servers grab the food from the robot. Our bill was outrageous. My daughter had a Greek salad and a Greek pizza, I had a falafel sandwich, my husband just had a piece of spinach pie, which looked anemic And our other diner had a bowl of soup and beef gyro. He said his soup tasted weird, it was some sort of lemon soup. But he did enjoy his meat. My daughter got one small little container of dressing for her Greek salad and asked for a second one. The waitress told us it would be $1.92 for a tiny little container of dressing. I can go to the store and get more servings than I got for that. Our total bill was $81.81.basically to sit in an overpriced mediocre Greek cafeteria. I asked to speak to the manager and she shrugged her shoulders and agreed with me that $1.92 was a lot for one extra dressing, but it is what it is. I told her don't worry we will not be back. Still Nikki's rainbow room by Patrick space force space has never let me down. This was our first and last visit to this restaurant very disappointing. read more

When we placed our order after waiting in line at the fast food type counter at the entrance, my wife and I asked for water as we always do on low carb diets. They refused to give us tap water! They wanted us to order bottled water in polluting plastic bottles but we refused. Then they said they had drinking fountains by the bathrooms outside at the far end of the restaurant. My family is familiar with Olive Tree from it's previous location in Viera, so we've been anticipating the new location from the time construction started. We went at lunch time on 28 Nov to sample several dishes and experience the ambiance of the outside seating. The weather that day was quite nice -- sunny and breezy -- which made for great anticipation at our table as we awaited our food to be delivered. Our order included Chicken Souvlaki over Greek Salad (very good), Beef/Lamb Gyro Platter (fair because the meat was overdone), Gyro Sandwiches (very good), Greek Lemon Potatoes (poor/bland; needed more chicken broth flavor, garlic, and olive oil), Creamy Feta Dip (very good), and Rice Pudding (very good). I'm Greek, and I know all these foods very well as I grew up with my mom preparing all of these dishes and more. I realize it's very challenging to produce authentic Greek food in a fast-service restaurant setting, but there is room for improvement here. The service has a unique element in that the wait staff is surplussed by automated server robots that bring dishes from the kitchen to the table side where the food is then given to the patrons. Very clever use of tech, but it made us wonder if the investment is worth it and whether the food prices are a reflection of the high cost of acquiring them. They are an interesting differentiator and conversation piece. What brings this review from 3 or possibly 4 stars down to 2 is the restaurant's refusal to serve complimentary water. Not only was water unavailable for our table of 6 guests, when we asked if we could have a carafe of water, we were told that water is only available for those guests who purchase alcoholic beverages. We offered to BUY the carafe of water, but this didn't result in water for the table either. When we pointed out that two of our party had purchased wine, two small plastic cups of water were delivered to them. After spending $160+ for lunch and wine, we found it quite unreasonable to be refused complimentary water for the table. We wondered what it might be like from May-Sep when temps reach into the mid- to upper-90s for lunchtime, even in the later afternoon hours for dinner. Will it be a smart business move to refuse ice water for a table of diners then? It feels like a conscious decision to drive customers to buy a beverage ($1.95 - $3.25) when other restaurants don't. As I write this, my family isn't interested in going back again due to this one issue alone. Overall, the food was mostly good with room to improve. The atmosphere is quite nice for moderate weather -- inside dining in Pano's once it opens will be necessary as weather becomes too hot or cold to remain outside. The service staff was fairly well-attentive. Not serving guests complimentary water definitely needs to change. read more

As a lover of Mediterranean food this place is pretty convenient. The quality could be a bit better I feel like it's pretty average and prices could be a bit better. I know it was built to have a authentic feel but the lack of AC leaves something to be desired being in Florida it's hot 10 months out of the year and I'm not a fan of sweating while I'm eating a 25$ meal read more

Most awkward restaurant experience I have ever been to! Note there are 2000 waiters walking around, robots dropping off food that you have to order at a cafeteria style counter! Maybe cafeteria is a Greek Voird ? .. The bar /cocktail situation is sit down at a table you find then walk 300 feet down steps to outside Bar pay 12.00 for a 4 oz poor of wine and then walk back and carry the 2 glasses back and then when you want a glass of tap water it's 1.50. Remember waiters and waitresses all over the entire restaurant. Well that entire dining experience was all GREEK to me. 60.00 for 2 Greek salads and fries! You might be better off at the Olive Garden not the olive tree. read more

Unfortunately just not much to praise. The food is OK. Its not bad in any way and the restaurant is not unclean. So it's not that the food has any major ref flags but no Major green flags either. The food is bland. They have good dressings but they only appear in a limited capacity and there is no way to add little extra sauces even at a cost. They have one of their dips as an appetiser which means you have the option to pay nearly 9 dollars if you don't order one of the few items that comes with the feta dip. The meat is bland. Not to pull out a cliche "Ive had greek food before" but seriously the meat is so so so bland. The salad is decent but the portions of things like fries are dismal. Would be ok at half the price. The portions are poor. Not as volume has it but in comparison to the price. Greek food isn't cheap as it is due to complexity but you are sure to pay normal dollar and score no more than half the food of any other environment. For two persons a non alcoholic beverage Gyros and desserts were 70 some dollars with "tip" not to mention that it's a blurry line of if the service really warrants a tip. It's worth mentioning that this is with Gyros. Not their more complex items. Their "dinners" are good enough but again not worth it for the price tag when they come out. Desserts are good in quality but vary from 5 dollar rice pudding to 12 dollar dessert. That being said the 12 dollar is imported from Greece so it's understandable. The bulk of their desserts are about 8 dollars. The venue is pretty good. Mostly at night. In the right conditions the moonlight almost makes you feel like you are oceanside especially when there is no smell. In the daytime however. You can see that it is in fact a green muddy ditch of a drainage pond. But when dining in the dark it's quite nice. Worth mentioning that the pond does carry a smell in the hotter months. They have decent seating all round and some built in heaters so all good. It's fast food style ordering with the pager style delivery system. They even have one of those food running droids thats clearly regularly confused the poor thing. It doesn't seem to serve much purpose than comic relief as a server is required 100% of the time to hand over the food. In any case no harm no foul there. I should add that the staff at the kiosks are very polite and help-full. They do however have a large menu and its often feels pressured to order fast or let yourself be passed. Overall another mechanic that seems out of place and doesn't contribute much to the experience This is pretty much the whole issue. Fast food style ordering that Im sure benefits the restaurant but not the customer. An over caliber venue that is good but almost wasted on the concept. And a menu that just doesn't not lend itself self to either discipline. It's like taking the worst parts of dining and fast food convenience and combining them. It has flaws and truly no distinct strengths. Here in lies some of the larger issues. The staff members will often walk by and touch the pager for no clear reason. Just now we had it 15 or so times to note. Also a staff member very awkwardly did a double take as they moved past the table to the extent that one was almost compelled to say "can I help you?" I assume they were checking if we had cutlery of sorts but it was a very odd interaction and they could have just asked. The staff are sort of mediocre as it is especially when they have little service to provide. On this specific occasion we had a drink spillage (our fault not theirs) and they didn't even notice despite the 7 or so staff members mostly hovering. We asked for napkins to handle it. They made Zero effort to assist with the spill and delivered 3 yes 3 bar napkin size napkins to help the spill and asked if we would need more. To which we said yes but received no more. On asking a second server we once again received two napkins. Wet table it is. They serve alcohol but you have to request table side bar service and as their service goes I'm not sure thats an adequate system and it's once again in no way a positive. After several visits I just don't think we will be returning. Theres simply no way to justify the cost once the initial excitement wears off. So much potential. The prices have been ridiculously high. For a small like 4 spoons of chick peas with tips and tax almost $10. Today I just noticed that thay charge 3 percent for credit card surcharge which is unacceptable who has cash these days. I havenot seen any other resturant to do that. We were excited to try the new location ....we were there for lunch. The building is very beautiful and the view of the lake is nice..... you order the food at the inside counter..our food was good...but you have to purchase water... the wine is a 4 to 5 oz pour ... the chairs are too low for the tables... there is a 3% cover charge for each ticket, cash or credit .... Sorry to say it is more like a upscale fast food spot with a lake view ...overall it was disappointing. ...hopefully the upstairs restaurant will be more to our liking..... we will return in couple of months when the upstairs space has opened..... give it a try and judge for yourself... read more

My husband and I came in to the Olive tree Greek grill excited to try it out as we have been anticipating it's opening! It really is so beautiful and we didn't actually mind sitting outside since it was actually pretty cool when we went. I think pricing is pushing it a little for the portion of things but still delicious.
