The outside is very unassuming; I'd driven by this place sooooo many times and never even noticed that it was a diner! It looks just like many old-timey STL buildings which just adds to the charm. Once you walk in, it's like teleporting to the past. It isn't fancy, but it is packed (and rightfully so). It was just myself when I went, so I was able to be immediately sat at the bar which was a nice surprise considering it was packed on a holiday (Labor Day) morning. The server was very nice and attended to whatever I needed efficiently despite juggling a lotta different folks. For the food & drinks, I started off with a nice cold brew. I didn't love the taste, as it was almost tea-esque, but to be fair I don't drink a lot of cold brew so maybe that's just how it is. I decided to get some Sopapillas as an appetizer as I'd heard they were good and they definitely did not disappoint. They arrived very quickly, were hot out of the fryer, and tasted amazing! They were pillowy soft and just sweet enough while not being overbearing. I added a little honey on top and it was like I was in heaven. There were 5 in the order and I had to stop myself after quickly devouring 3 within 2 minutes. That's how good they were. Onto my entree, I went with the Breakfast Burrito with homemade sausage. I am a big breakfast burrito guy, and a pretty tough critic, but I've gotta say that this was one of the best breakfast burritos I've had in recent years for sure. There was just enough cheese to add flavor and make it the perfect texture without being too much. The sausage had an incredible flavor that complemented the egg, home fries, and chiles perfectly. After devouring half of the burrito in under 90 seconds, I once again had to restrain myself and opted to take my leftover home before I made some really good but bad decisions (aka eating wayyyy too much). Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here. The vibes & food were immaculate despite the location and decor feeling very unassuming. I'd be excited to come back and try some of their other popular dishes, and I'll be sure to bring along some friends to share the experience next time!

They are accommodating to my gluten allergy and I've never left disappointed. A throwback diner from the 1960's. I go here once a week and eat a wonderful and affordable breakfast. The omelets, eggs, sausage, and cinnamon buns are superb. The menu is affordable and quite large. the restaurant is small sometimes its hard to get a seat on weekends. the lunch I hear is very good but i only go for breakfast. It beats the hell out of Original Pancake House in Ladue. Go here and save some money, great value read more

I had a bad experience here. They tucked my date and I back into a corner and then neglected us. In the time that we were attended to/served, we watched many parties groups come and go. At that point, I told my husband, "Let's just leave." The entire interaction felt dismissive, defensive, and rude. When I asked to speak to a manager, she claimed she was the manager. I let her know directly that her tone and behavior were inappropriate, and we left. Customer service is about making guests feel welcome. This felt the exact opposite. The egg was overcooked, but she seemed to be happy with it otherwise, so I won't make any other comments on her food. I on the other hand had already had breakfast earlier in the day so I decided to take a chance on a salad. Terrible idea. I ordered the grilled chicken salad, which is supposed to come with lettuce, tomato onion, cheese, green bell peppers, and dressing. I asked for honey mustard on the side. My salad did not come out until 10 minutes after my friend's hot meal came out. When it did, it only contained lettuce, tomato, cheese, and he gave me Italian dressing on the side. I immediately tried to stop him and ask him for honey mustard instead, but he dropped it and bounced without asking if we needed anything else. He proceeded to go up to the front counter, check out all three tables consecutively, make conversation with each as they were paying, completely ignoring my friend who was waving her hand and yelling to him. He kept saying oh I'll be right over! After a good 10 minutes, he came back over and handed me a ramekin of 1000 Island and told me, "Here try this one, I think it's honey mustard." Like seriously? Where the heck did that even come from? He didn't go to the kitchen on his way to the table! I took one look and could clearly tell it was 1000 island. I asked him if I could please just have honey mustard as I had originally asked for, and a side of tomatoes and green peppers with my lettuce, chicken, and cheese. This man tried to take my plate back to the kitchen to add those things instead of just bringing me a side dish. Make it make sense. At this point there are fruit flies buzzing all around our table because we're the only table now. My sad salad has been sitting there for 10 minutes and now you want to take my plate back? Anyway, my friend likes the place so I shut up and ate my unappetizing salad. This place is such a disappointment. I hadn't been in a while so, I had high hopes that it might have improved since I was last there. Honestly, I'm pretty sure it's declined. I wouldn't recommend it.

The gentleman who greeted me today was super kind and even told me to have a great day. You dont hear too many things like that these days. The staff is always great here. I ordered a Meat Me in St. Louie Skillet this time and I love that they cook it just good enough for you to add what additional seasonings you may want. It is not too salty and not underseasoned. I got home and added Trader Joe's 21 Salute Seasoning and Cholula Hot Sauce. So delish!!! I will definitely order this again!

Most of the tables were dirty, which was a bit annoying, but the counter worker was really friendly. He brought us ketchup and hot sauce and anything we needed. I tried the Roasted Vegetable Hash, and I was satisfied, but not blown away. I did think that the sweet potatoes were a bit tough and could have been cooked more thoroughly, and the turkey sausage was very dry. The eggs were well-cooked however, and I loved the tender brussels. I wish they'd advertised that the sauce would be sweet and mapley, as I just wasn't expecting it. I'd like to give this place another try, especially the burrito with romesco and goat cheese. Maybe that will win me over.
