Great little diner. Stopped in for breakfast and got two seats right next to each other for me and my friend on a Sunday morning. It's hard to get multiple seats in a row, a group of 5 came in after us and had to be split up. The food came out pretty quickly and you could see the cook making it right in front of you. Wow. We started part of our Route 66 trip here. I can say enough great things. We ordered Omelet's. 1 ham, 1 sausage. Both were great, but the sausage was so much more flavorful. I eat here every time I come to town (three or four times a year). Great diner food, great diner atmosphere, and friendly service.

I end up walking here at least once a week for breakfast with my girlfriend and the staff is always so kind and exactly what you'd like from a place like this. We leave spending under $30 and full of some pretty decent food. It is cash only but they have an ATM on site and I've never had to wait on a weekday even in peak times. St. Louis Magazine did an article on, "5 Items Under $10 to try this August" and TOD was featured. The featured diner special, was their Ying-Yang. You ask, what is a Ying-Yang? It's a classic, Slinger with both Chili and Gravy on top. Yes, instead of having to choose your favorite topping of gravy or chili on your Slinger, Tiffany's gives you both. What also surprised me, is I got to choose my meat. I didn't have to have the usual hamburger on my Slinger. I got to choose between, sausage, bacon or the traditional hamburger. I went with, sausage. My two eggs, I had fried hard. When having a Slinger, i don't want a runny yolk. The Hashbrowns at Tiffany's are homemade. They make them from scratch, everyday. That's true dedication, if they have the patience to boil, peel and grate potatoes daily. That's true diner love. You can't tell under the gravy & chili, but it was perfectly divided. Each side of my plate had an egg, sausage patty and a serving of the delicious hashbrowns. The coffee that TOD serves, is from their neighbor down the street, The Living Room. That guarantees you a good strong cup morning brew. It's always nice to see local businesses supporting each other. Another local biz that TOD supports is, Happy Dog Hot Sauce. I've always been a fan and was excited to see that they sell it as a retail item. The server/cook told me it is a favorite of their customers and that is why they decided to start selling it. TOD, is a true diner experience. There are no booths or tables. Everyone sits at the counter and watch your diner comfort food be prepared right before you. The crowd itself can be entertaining and the regulars will include newbies in their conversations. If you haven't been, I recommend a visit to Tiffany's Original Diner. I'm very much a huge fan of hole in the wall greasy diners. I've driven by this one many times and wanted to stop by. Today I have the chance. Definitely a little disappointed. My sister had the house made Corned Beef Hash and I had the Chicken Fried Steak. The food was wonderful. These are breakfasts we order all the time and Tiffany's were the best. I'm really bummed to have to write this review because I used to really enjoy frequenting this place as a classic, cash-only greasy diner for weekend breakfasts. The owners let a bunch of people wait around the back so it was crowded (during a global pandemic...), openly complained about the county rules limiting capacity, and they openly complained when we asked to get our order to go. On top of that, we waited over an hour for our food despite only being a party of two. After placing my order, the server told me that there were already credits in the jukebox and that I could play whatever I want (not something you see everywhere you go!) You know that scene in a Western when the new guy walks into the saloon and everybody stops and stares and it's completely silent for like 5 seconds? That's the moment I had when I walked in here. The thing that reminded me of this were that they had westerns on the TV for ambiance. Anyways... on to the important part, the food. The server and the cook were really sweet to the bf and I. The sign on the wall lets you know that if their service, food or drinks aren't up to your standards to lower your standards. So, with that giant fuck you, I already figured I'd have a good time here. I enjoyed my hotcakes, fries and ham. I'm upgrading from 3 to 5 stars since it seems I haven't updated in quite a while. Compared to other diners, I would say this is def a 5. Service is faster lately than it used to be, staff is still nice and personable. Get the sausage, egg, cheese omelet with toast and hash browns or the burger - so awesome. Okay... the slinger I got was really good (like, really good), and the lady working the grill was cool, but everyone was handling meat with their bare hands and not washing them. Health code violation! But I didn't get sick after eating, and I honestly handle meat with bare hands when I cook for myself (though I do wash my hands afterwards). But I dunno. This is a greasy spoon diner. I came for the first time last night after the Let Them Eat Art festival in Maplewood at around 10pm. The cook didn't wear gloves and touched EVERYTHING and never washed his hands. My friends and I even saw him lick some gravy off his finger and then continue to serve food without washing his hands. We already had our food at this point. My burger and fries were good except I found a hair in my food! I'm sure this place is great and ideal for locals and they can keep it. No its not for the slick Clayton types, its only counter service, no table , but its a very authentic diner experience. Tiffany's is a small diner in Maplewood. We were in yesterday and before that I don't think I had been there for 10 years. We came around 1030am and were able to get a spot. The server was really nice and explained a couple menu items to us. She got our drinks and order right away. We had the Tobey (sub breakfast sausage) a small biscuit and gravy to split, and the Western Omlet. Everything was great! We were craving good diner food and Tiffany's delivered. The omlet was great and I liked the option of the Tobey (I like the idea of the Slinger but not the chili or hamburger patties--this was a great alternative). The food was good and the prices very good, but that's about it. I had a burger and fries. When my friend and I walked in there were only spots on the corner of the counter. You couldn't see the menu board from our seats and we weren't offered a menu. There were still dirty dishes on the counter. The waitress took her time clearing and asked for my drink order. She had to wash a cup before able to get it for me. We could also see the sinks from our seats as well as a huge pile of dirty dishes. Customers next to us left and their dirty plates were never cleared. The food was cooked quickly, but once served we didn't get any attention. Never offered silverware. Had to do this.. Went here tonight cause we were craving some diner food. About midnight Saturday night there were 3 people at the counter. One cook. We had to walk to the other end of the counter to see the rest of the menu on the wall. Ordered our drinks, asked for a Coke and was told if I wanted Coke I "better to go to steak n shake", they only have Pepsi. Um.. Ok Pepsi please. After he scooped the ice with the cup he was serving it in, (first health department violation) he grabbed the straw bare-handed from the mouth part and put it in straight the cup. After watching him wipe his nose, scratch his head, clear dirty dishes from the counter, slide his tip money into his pocket.. He proceeded to bare-hand some ham from a fridge and chop it on a metal counter for my omelet. Not once did this guy wash or even wipe his hands off!! Not wanting to cause a scene, I asked for to-go boxes and PAID for the food.. Immediately drove 15 minutes downtown to pass the food off to a homeless couple (hoping they wouldn't get sick) I just couldn't think about eating this food after what I just saw. Ended up at Courtesy Diner on Hampton. Perfectly satisfied for less cost. I don't like to slam places like this. Believe me I don't.. But this needed to be posted! Uh... what? Nostalgia is great and all, but reliving the olden days by watching the cook smoke cigarettes over the grill? No, thanks. I've been to greasy spoons. Even as a vegetarian, I crave some hashbrowns and diner coffee from time to time. On one such occasion, Tiffany's called my name. I'd never been, and it's just down the street from home. It's tiny, which is fine. It has the looks of an old diner, which is fine. It's expected. The server (the owner's daughter, I guess?) isn't friendly and doesn't care (Though she did gripe about not getting tips from some people... Connect the dots, dear). That doesn't bother me, though. I've waited tables, and it isn't the best job. She doesn't really move, though. Service was ridiculously slow, which had nothing to do with the number of customers. The staff just wanted to chat and smoke instead of cook and serve. Maybe that's an authentic diner experience, but I was hungry and wanted some freaking breakfast. Three days later (approximately), I was served a spoonful of hashbrowns and some toast. I ate everything and left hungry. Greasy diner food is supposed to be cheap and filling. This place has so much potential with just a counter top breakfast bar, but it's still lacking. First this review is for an actual breakfast trip, not a 2am breakfast trip, which I would imagine would be an entirely different experience. This place was dirty, and not like that "it's divey so there's a decorative troll doll that's been sitting on shelf for 10 years dirty." Like the counter tops, the floors, and what looked like all the cooking utensils. We were the only 2 in the restaurant and they didn't bother to wipe off the counter top the whole time we sat there. The food was no better than IHOP, which is kind my bottom baseline for breakfast. Eggs were whatever, meat was ehhh, and they slathered the toast with a paintbrush of butter, not appetizing. This also may have been a unique experience, but what looked like the owner was having a discussion with a customer and his daughter about some topics that I really didn't want to hear about. Tiffany's can pretty much be summed up in this one exchange from my venture there late last night. friend: I would like a slinger please cook: cheese? friend: cheddar cook: it was a yes or no question There's nothing fancy at all about Tiffany's. No cheese besides American. No decaf coffee other than instant. No credit cards and none of those high-falutin tables and chairs. Just a long bar with maybe 20 worn bar stools. it almost makes Courtesy Diner seem "nice." Almost. But, they do have pretty decent food for a very decent price. As noted, my friend had the slinger (with cheese) and while he claimed it different than Courtesy Diner, was quite pleased. I had a bacon egg and cheese sandwich on wheat toast. So simple yet so delicious. The service was very speedy and we were in and out of there in under 20 minutes. Both the cook and guy who took the order were a little more hipster than the greasy spoon stereotype. They were very friendly and fun to talk to. And they didn't even call me "hon." If you're feeling really brave, or drunk, they seem willing to deep fry just about anything. In our 20 minute stay, we saw one man get served a deep-fried twinkie wrapped in bacon, and another, just deep fried bacon by itself. A plate of deep fried bacon. Tiffany's is about as legit as a 24-hour diner can get, It is a small space, mostly counter, serving up some delicious breakfasts and diner favourites. As if the setting wasn't legit enough, the lady behind the counter taking our order was also MAKING our breakfast. It was a one-woman show. I ordered the "Ying Yang": half "Toby" (eggs and hash browns smothered in sausage gravy), half "Slinger" (eggs and hash browns smothered in chili) with deep fried bacon also buried underneath. Digging through with my fork was like walking through a war-era field where you never knew when you might hit a a crunchy landmine of bacon or an explosion of yolk. It was greasy spoon heaven. The clientele seems to mostly be "regulars" (most of them 50 years+) adding to it's street cred. All in all, I cannot imagine many places desreving the title of "diner" more than this one. read more

I never leave bad reviews but this place deserves it. I just left here for the first time with a party of 7 and this has to be the worst service and food I have ever had. 1st the guy and the lady both had terrible attitudes. 2nd you can tell the grease hasn't been changed all day. It looked like muddy water when he dropped our fries. When we told the cook that the fries were nasty he grabbed a fry out of the cooking basket and noticed it was full of grease, threw it back in the basket, then dropped the basket back into the grease and says "let's see if I can get them crisp". That didn't work. 3rd my eggs were mushy and nasty due to him not cleaning the grill after cooking bacon,sausage, and hamburgers. 4th my nephew ordered scrambled cheese eggs with cheese and hash browns with cheese. When he got his food his eggs were the same as mine but he had a piece of cheese that was still cold just laying on top. When he told the cook his hash browns were pose to have cheese also and could he melt the cheese that were on his eggs, he took the plate and dispense nacho cheese on his hash brown and gave him his plate back. After explaining our dislikes to the staff they continue to have a nasty attitude and didn't want to do anything for us. They eventually took 2 out of 3 fries off the bill and that was it. We spent $60 in there, one person ate their burger and another ate their patty melt, the rest of the food we gave back.
