I was a little hesitant about the kale pesto but should NOT have been. This dish was delicious--great garlic flavor. Would order again. The burger looked amazing and while The Hubs said it was good, he also said it needed some more spice. They had a couple of rotating beers from Heirloom--a Mexican Lager and an Italian Pilsner. I had the Water Lily cocktail, their take on an Aviation. Order it just because it's beautiful (and refreshing). The photo does not depict the deep color of it. I asked what other gin based cocktails they had on their menu. They didn't but the server/bartender offered to make me a Bee's Knees for the second round. It was delicious! The atmosphere here is casual but the food is elevated. I kept thinking this is what a French bistro would be like inside. I want to come back and shop the market. I also felt like it was cooked too hot. The crust was borderline over cooked but the inside was done. That's just my opinion. They served the chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy on the side. Both just warm and as my meal progressed the gravy was straight up cold. But I was finished so I powered through. To be fair, the fried chicken was the least expensive entree on the menu. The interaction felt unnecessarily dismissive, particularly after we had already been waiting so long with very little attention or communication. To make matters worse, after the long wait and confusion, we were ultimately brought the wrong order. The second server who took over our table was much kinder and more attentive, which we appreciated, but by that point the overall experience had already been disappointing. It's unfortunate because we genuinely enjoyed coming here in the past and still think highly of the food, but the service during our recent visits has declined enough that we don't plan to return.

Inside, the restaurant is long and narrow with bar seating, hanging plants, and an open wood-fire grill that immediately sets the vibe. We sat in the back room, which is darker and not quite as charming as the main dining area. It was also verrrry warm. When we mentioned it, our waiter's sarcastic comment about it being hot outside caught us a little off guard, but thankfully it did seem to cool down afterward. Now THE FOOD. The fire-roasted carrots with whipped tahini were unreal. Tender without being mushy, smoky, and absolutely packed with flavor. I ate most of the plate and regret nothing. The empanadas were buttery, soft and flaky with a chimichurri sauce I would've happily put on everything. My Campfire Atlantic Salmon was the star--perfectly cooked with this incredible smoky, citrusy flavor that carried through the whole plate. Even the kale had me excited, which feels like an accomplishment. The artichoke au gratin was creamy, loaded with artichokes, and had a great crunchy texture on top. Portions are generous enough that my dinner became lunch the next day. Our table also tried the filet, pasta, and another salmon. Everyone was happy. I sampled the crab-and-corn pasta--it was good, just not personally my thing. The filet was tender with a glaze my friend loved, although I'd probably order mine without it. We finished with the strawberry rhubarb cobbler + vanilla ice cream--tangy, sweet, warm, cold, crunchy, creamy...basically I didn't want to share.
