I cannot believe that a 11 course omakase is just $38 here. I was in the area and craving sushi when I found Omakase 95, and just could not resist that kind of deal. I was expecting this to be basic omakase which would've been fine with me, but when my sushi chef got out the blowtorch I knew it was about to get good. The set starts off with a fresh piece of salmon sashimi on a small bed of greens, seasoned fresh and perfectly. Stand out favorites in this sushi set were the fatty toro, salmon and most especially the Hokkaido scallop, topped with a wasabi salt. All of the fish was incredibly fresh, and the set itself was a nice mix of fresh and blowtorched pieces. The chef knew exactly when to add certain seasonings and toppings, and when to let the fish speak for itself, which is really an art in my opinion. The set concludes with a small, savory miso soup. I wish I had taken photos of the actual fish, but my phone died and the waiter her graciously allowed me to charge it while eating here. It was for the best, honestly, I got to be fully present for all of my fish. Ambiance wise it's a casual spot, come as you are. If you live in this area and love sushi you need to come here for lunch. If I lived nearby I would be here weekly. read more

We got the lunch omakase (15 course) for $58. Made reservations ahead and was seated promptly at the bar. Def recommend sitting at the bar when you do omakase and not the table. It was a good experience - they had some different appetizers that I had not seen other omakase places. I enjoyed it but was a little unsure about the oyster shooter app. If you are in the neighborhood it's a good spot to try and won't break the bank (at least not for lunch). read more

A great spot for a great deal in the uptown manhattan. I came here for their lunch special deal which was $38 for 11 courses. Such a great new gem to find and the quality of the sushi was up to par. Staff were super nice and the service was so elegant and the chef asked how everything was. I would highly recommend going to this spot and bringing some friends along or having a nice little date. read more

I've been to omakase places all over NYC and Japan. Omakase 95 was among the best experiences. I had one of the lunch offerings. The staff were professional, the quality of ingredients exceeded expectations given the decent pricing, and the interior design is pleasing. The one thing I'd add are hooks underneath the counter seating for bags. Overall, 5/5 experience. I'll be back. read more

First time here and I had amazing sushi! It was the freshest tasting sushi I ever had. Made right in front of us as we opted to sit at the sushi bar. We ordered the 15 piece tasting menu which began with the oyster shooter and ended it with the Wagyu beef with fresh truffle, which was cooked with a blow torch. Afterwards, we ordered some extras of our favorites. Besides the oyster shooter, my favorite was the Masunosuke with homemade mayonnaise, yuzu pickle and wasabi salt. We also had two different sakes, which were delicious. I was not a fan of the dessert, which my friend ended up eating as he liked it. The servers were very polite and attentive. Water was served with lemon. The place was immaculate as was the restroom. I can't wait to return. I only took a photo of the tasting menu, which I can't find in my photo library but when I do, I will post the picture. I did not take further pictures as each placement of sushi on the wooden platter was given with an explanation on how it was made and to be eaten. Disrupting this process would feel rude. What a terrific meal! Just got back from an incredible Omakase dinner experience at this new restaurant and we were blown away. We've been to many sushi restaurants that have omakase many times, but this was unique both in terms of the amazing quality (every dish was fresh and delicious) as well as the price (for the quality of the experience, I would've easily expected to pay double). The staff were incredibly attentive and responsive, and even made suggestions based on what they thought the people at our table would prefer. The restaurant was also incredibly clean, especially the bathrooms which many restaurants seemed to neglect. And the icing on the cake is that they have a lunch special, which may be one of the best values in the city. We will definitely be back! read more

Unbelievable experience! Easily the best omakase I have ever had at an incredibly reasonable price. Every bite was better than the last. I found myself closing my eyes to enjoy each of the unique flavors. The chefs were knowledgeable and passionate about each dish they served to us. My favorite dish was the king salmon course. The service was impeccable. I'm excited to go back soon with more friends. The restaurant was also gorgeous! It's brand new with a little bit of work still being done. On a whim, I decided on this place on my way home, indecisive on eating out or cooking on home. I'm glad I decided to be lazy because this place was a gem of a find. Of course I'd love it, they're connected to Shihou! Service was friendly and great, food was great quality and delicious, and alcohol selection was equally yummy (try the green tea plum sake!!
