**Overall: 4.75 Stars** Imagine omakase but with a show. That's what you get here at Kyara Sake Bar. I went to Kyara on a date, but it wasn't the quiet or romantic kind of place I thought it'd be. Kyara had great service but they visit you every few minutes and explain things before each dish and they may cook something in front of you or show you the fish (like the actual real whole fish from the same catch you'd be eating)! When we were about to be served the wagyu beef dish, we were shown the certificate and our server explained all about the cow. I felt like I knew all about Bertha and joked that we just went through her photo album and yearbook. Like how was I supposed to eat Bertha now?!! Aiyahhhhh. If you're looking for a Omakase intimate setting, this place is it. We arrived at 830ish- no wait and were greeted and seated by a friendly young man. We had a choice for bar or table and we chose table. It was tucked in a corner so it felt intimate for me and husband. Menu was filled with some of our faves and some new things we never tried. Skewers were great esp the Wagyu- it was so good and tender. We enjoyed the agadashi tofu with was one of our faves here. Food was overall delicious and you can taste the freshness of the fish. Vegas is spoiled with late night Japanese eats, and this is among the best of them. Omakase Kyara Sake Bar is the latest incarnation of Kyara at this little spot at Jones and 215. I first visited it when it was Kyara Japanese Tapas, then had a nice little meal in their short stint as Ramen Kyara, and finally made time to see them in their current form. Well, sorta. Although a lot of people come for the omakase, I deliberately waited until 9pm for their late night izakaya menu (FYI, last seating 12:30am / last call 12:45am), where a la carte takes center stage but quality doesn't seem to decrease at all. The iced green tea (cheap but apparently omitted from the check) was a ubiquitous but pleasant refreshment, especially since their complimentary water is served at room temp. I also had a little of my friend's "Demon Slayer" ($14.75 small portion) hot sake, which was pretty standard flavor with some mild sweetness. My nigiri orders, all 1 piece per order, arrived first. King Salmon ($4.50) was a deeper orange but still very tender salmon. Kanpachi ($6.50) was as delicious as usual. Chu Toro ($6.25) and O Toro ($7.00) were both similarly fatty and awesome cuts of tuna, meaning the O Toro wasn't actually fat-forward. I enjoyed both pieces regardless. Age Dashi Mochi ($6.95) caught my eye from their Fresh Pound Mochi Special menu, and I quite liked it. It was viscous but very soft mochi and had enough breading to soak up the age dashi flavors and toppings, and the mochi had a little intrinsic flavor unlike the tofu which this recipe was inspired by. Kanpachi Jalapeno ($21.95) was my friend's sashimi order, and it was the only real miss. It wasn't unpalatable at all, but it was just really pricy and the fish flavor didn't quite hold up against the sauce. Skewers showed up next. The Pork Jowl ($4.75) was super tender and moderately fatty, and it took on the tare flavor nicely. I felt no need to pursue any pork belly orders after that. The Chicken Oyster ($4.25) was rich and just tender enough, and unlike at the popular Chinatown-area restaurant named for chicken, it was actually in stock here. I tried a little of the Onsen Tamago ($4.50) app, which they served cold with ikura, green onion, shredded nori, and sauce. The egg had perfectly silky egg white and runny yolk, and the additional toppings were harmonious together. Once I asked about it and learned that the Ama Ebi ($12.25) on the white board was a nigiri order leftover, I went for it. It was a larger shrimp than I usually see, and it came with the deep fried head. Both the body and head portions were great, and the thin lemon slices were a great complement when eaten whole with the head. My last order was a non-dessert of Wagyu Tsukune ($6.00). The interior was delightfully pink and tender, as if this were the perfect slider filling you never seem to be able to find. The beef was already delicious with the tare, and the unadorned onsen tamago was just gilding the lily. Go to Omakase Kyara for high-quality Japanese food. I'm sure the omakase courses are worth pursuing for a special occasion, but consider late night or perhaps the similar / equivalent a la carte as well, especially if you know what you want out of an izakaya type of menu. read more

Chef Winston and team keep getting better! The Omakase here is excellent, and you can't beat the $88 price tag. Melt in your mouth otoro, fresh uni, the list of Japanese white fish , and the king salmon are phenomenal. Looking forward to landing a tuna cutting seat soon! first time trying kyara for me and my boyfriend's 6 year anniversary and it was amazing!!! :3 we got the ume omakase and i loved every single course. i personally dont like mushrooms (was in the seasonal vegetables and the chicken mushroom mushroom chawanmushi) but i enjoyed everything regardless :) i am usually a salmon person but i was blown away by the tuna, i especially enjoyed the akami tuna with truffle. also this was the BEST scallop and uni i've ever had! the basque cheesecake dessert was sooo good service was exceptional from the very beginning! i forgot to ask the names of the staff that took care of us but we were always checked up on and they even gave us some extra dessert that said "happy anniversary" :') read more

The owner sat at the table next to us talking to some people then got up and sat at the bar the rest of the time we were there. Poor management for sure. My go to sushi spot! If you're looking for the freshest cuts of fish then this is where you should be going to. I usually get the same thing which is otoro, hand rolls, and the sashimi platter. Overall, Omakase Kyara Sake Bar is a decent choice. If I could go back in time, I would have opted for their a la carte menu instead of the omakase menu. I personally cared more about the nigiri then their appetizers. The appetizers were alright, nothing special and definitely not worth the omakase price. A la carte in fact may be cheaper and more worth your money if you just want nigiri. After our omakase menu, we opted for extra nigiri from their a la carte menu and that took over 20 minutes. This was the Take tasting menu was $118. The ambiance was lively and the lighting was soft and intimate. The server was very attentive and managed the timing of the meal appropriately. The food was dressed to highlight the fresh flavor of the main ingredient. The sashimi quality was 5/5 I liked some better than others but overall very satisfied. Good food exactly what I was craving. 1. Cherry tomato with bonito flakes, shiso flakes dressed in a yuzu vinaigrette. - bright combination, all of the flavors are distinct and bold. Salty fish flavors from thin melting bonito flakes, salty pickled Ume shiso flakes lightly busting, distinct bright yuzu vinaigrette. Bold first 2 bites. Love the introduction to chefs style 2. Asparagus grilled in olive oil seasoned with salt. - perfectly grilled tender young asparagus grilled in olive oil then salted. Simple dish highlights quality of the asparagus and attentive grilling techniques. 3. shrimp Chawanmushi with a dollop of uni on a bed of ikura topped with edamame. - Silky dashi flavored steamed egg topped with refreshing bursts of ikura and salty fresh uni. The edamame was a very Japanese touch that ties this Japanese dish together. 4. Meatball with katsu sauce garnished with furakake. - Another savory very Japanese dish. The nori was an authentic garnish that livens the flavors. 5. Yuzu Shigoku Oyster. - 10/10 freshness and preparation. Simple yuzu vinaigrette highlights the sweet firm oyster meat. Should have been served as a 2nd course alone because it requires time to savor before another dish. 6. Jellyfish with crushed sesame seeds, chili flakes dressed in sesame oil. - my first time having jelly fish and the texture was lightly crunchy chewy texture with a pleasant sesame flavor. 7. House made tofu topped with ikura. - the ikura flavored the cold almost set unflavored tofu, giving desirable texture. 8. 10 sashimi. - Chu toro with Belgian caviar. Tuna with truffle bonito flakes. Omakase Kyara was amazing. Most guests at our table chose the omakase sets, but I went à la carte and ordered the sashimi set, the hamburger steak with demi glaze, and some yakitori. We were there after the Omakase menu, but actually had preferred it. Standouts were the miso, black cod, the Torah roll, and don't even get us started on the homemade soy sauce! By the way, the wasabi seemed to be also homemade and very fresh - incredible! I can't say enough about this place. Kyara is one of my favorite Japanese places to go to with a wide variety of quality food. You have the option of sushi, skewers, izakaya and even Omakase all in one location. This is right off the freeway and you don't have to go all the way to Spring Mountain for quality Japanese food. All of the food is quality and anything you choose will be amazing. They have variety of meat and veggie skewers. They even have A5 wagyu skewers which I'd highly recommend if you haven't tried it. Sushi wise you can't go wrong with tuna (akame, toro, otoro) as everything they have is fresh. The only thing is that I believe they have different menus depending on what time of the day you arrive. We arrived late night which offered the late night menu (9pm-1am) but all the options were still great food items. They provide three different types of sitting arrangements. One is at the bar which provides you an open view of the chefs at work, a booth that gives more of a Japanese setting and another open area that may feels more of like a drinking/izakaya feel. The service is really good in the beginning, but once you have your food it may be harder to track someone down. You'd have to kind of flag them down since they may be busy helping other customers (just like any other restaurant). So make sure you order enough food so you won't have to wait so long if you realize you're not full yet. read more

We all ordered the Matsu Omakase ($138). We were told that the difference between the Matsu and Take options is the wagyu that comes with the Matsu option. Been wanting to take my girlfriend to a place that offered Omakase and I chose this place since I'm not big on sushi and they actually had a good amount of options for me. My girlfriend chose the Take Omakase and two days later she is still blown away by all of the great flavors of the different dishes as well as the sashimi. Her faves were the oyster appetizer, the fatty tuna? With caviar sashimi and of course the salmon sashimi. Oh, and we both loved their Lychee cocktail. Full of lychee flavor and didn't really taste the alcohol. I got a couple hand rolls (snow crab California and unagi with avocado) and some skewers (A5 Wagyu with foie gras butter, chicken thigh, chicken cartilage, & bacon wrapped asparagus). The chicken cartilage was by far my fave, I probably could've easily eaten ten of them. I was excited to actually try the A5 Wagyu because where else would you be able to try a smidge of this expensive steak without breaking the bank too bad? It was super rich and fatty, pretty much how I expected it to be. The service was excellent, consistently checking if we needed anything and apologized for any wait. They explained all of the Omakase dishes and made the experience extra fun. They also asked if we were celebrating anything and we told them it was my girlfriends birthday last week, so they ended our meal with a little matcha mousse cake with a candle. I thought it was gonna be dense and dry, but it was super delicious and every bite just melted in your mouth. We would definitely like to come back on another trip out here. I went here for their Valentine's Day special earlier this year and it was a fantastic evening. I made a reservation a week in advance and spots filled up very quickly! Upon entry, the place had a classy, calm atmosphere. Felt very clean. A smaller more intimate venue. Has an open kitchen concept and a lot your orders are given right over the counter which is super fun. A huge selection of drinks and wines; honestly endless. Place had the perfect vibe. Packed but not in an anxiety-inducing way, lively but not full of obnoxious people who think they invented dining out. Service was freakishly good considering how slammed they were. Our server either had telepathic powers or at the very least was slightly force-sensitive. Pork belly skewer was perfection. Crispy, juicy, fatty--basically a life-changing experience on a stick. Gizzard was that perfect balance of chewy and smoky, like the best kind of bar snack but fancier. I originally tasted a bit of their food and interacted with some of them at a Yelp elite event and knew that I had to come try their food fresh and in their restaurant so my husband and I booked a Valentine's Day dinner to try their menus! We were offered complimentary sparkling wine as it was Valentine's Day and were handed the menu offering Ume $68 or Take at $98. We ordered the $98 Take menu for each of us so we could try it all and we definitely were not disappointed!! Food: The first course that included the oyster, Branzino, and chawanmushi were delightful with the salty and fresh notes, a warm, silky note, and perfectly cooked fish note. The second course included 12 assorted sashimi with sushi rice and nori and it was some of the best and freshest sashimi I've had. No fishy tastes, and most melted in your mouth. We were also encouraged to use the sushi rice and nori to make hand rolls whenever we wanted, and you could ask for more if needed. We ended our third course with a miso soup, and we were stuffed! I was nervous that it wouldn't be much food, but it was perfect! Almost didn't order the strawberry dream dessert, but why not?! Drink: in addition to the sparkling wine, we ordered the Yuzu Sake, Shibata, "Black" and the Mochi Sparkling Uni Matcha w/ white strawberry. Both were delicious and refreshing! Service: immaculate.
