Our second time here and the food is amazing yet again! The seating wraps around the open bar and kitchen area, so you're essentially dining around the heart of the cooking space. It has a warm ambient glow that makes the whole place feel intimate, but noise levels can be a bit high due to the close proximity of the tables and lack of noise buffer. Their drink menu is also creative, with unique cocktails and seasonal specials worth exploring. We tried a bunch of different food items: Takoyaki balls: the BEST balls ever! And that's saying a lot because we've been to Japan ! Takoyaki itself is a classic Osaka street food, traditionally made with diced octopus in a savory batter cooked in molded griddles. Here at Hachi, these takoyaki balls are crispy on the outside with a soft center, sitting abed a rich mayo-based sauce. What makes these stand out is the contrast with the balls of delicious and, instead of a fully liquid sauce, there are small chunks of cream cheese blended in, so you have bites of that with the battered balls! Agedashi Tofu: Lightly fried tofu served in a delicate dashi broth. The exterior is soft with a bit of crisp, while the inside stays silky and custard-like. The broth is clean and, if I dare say, savory but light. Basically a punch of umami and extremely balanced! Karaage: They are known for their chicken karaage, and it absolutely delivers. The chicken lightly coated and fried until golden and crisp while staying incredibly juicy inside. Each bite has a satisfying crunch followed by tender, flavorful meat! I highly recommend pairing it with the negi sauce, which delivers a a tangy vinegar-based scallion sauce that cuts through the fat and oils, and it deeply enhances the flavor of the chicken. Yakitori Skewers: Yakitori is a traditional Japanese grilling style where small skewers of meat are cooked over charcoal. The focus is on simple flavors utilizing high-quality ingredients. We tried a mix of skewers, which comes with a slice of lemon on top to be squeezed over the skewers: * Wagyu skewers: rich, buttery, and cooked to perfection * Beef tongue: more chewy and textured, so not a huge fan of it * Chicken skin: ultra crispy with rendered fat and a satisfying crunch * Pork belly with green onions: fatty, smoky, and balanced by the freshness of scallions We also ordered a fresh scallop skewer, grilled shrimp with tartar sauce, and eel. The scallops were sweet and tender with 3 pieces per skewer. The shrimp was cooked and de-shelled and served with a tartar sauce. The eel was the most memorable with its rich, tender, and deeply savory taste. Eel (unagi) is considered a delicacy in Japanese cuisine where it's known for its sweet glaze and soft texture. Absolutely horrible customer service. The older woman at the front desk was unbelievably rude, disrespectful, and aggressive for absolutely no reason. I calmly explained that I had just called and was specifically told we could come directly and that our table could be held. Instead of listening or trying to help, she immediately responded with a nasty attitude and said, "If you don't want to wait, you can leave." We spent almost $190 for two people, and no customer spending that kind of money should ever be treated this way. Her behavior completely ruined the experience for us. When I come to Vegas my first dinner stop is always Hachi. I sit at the bar and watch them cook and chat with everyone. It is always a great experience. It reminds me of a true bar in Japan and the food is great. Every bite fresh and amazing. They grill Yakitori and the charcoal comes from Japan. A meal so fantastic I sincerely forgot to take photos of almost any kind. Sincerely one of my top 3 restaurants in Vegas after only having eaten once. We came with the objective as trying as many foods as possible. Karaage, takoyaki, pork belly, Hot pot, sashimi, nigiri, Yakitori, a ton of skewers, and more. I'm forgetting stuff, but every single thing we ate was positively divine. The highlights were definitely the karaage, which were so crispy and impossibly juicy at the same time, the pork belly, which had an incredible salty flavor with the perfect crispiness, a wagyu skewer, and the sashimi. Oh my god, I've never had softer fish in my life. It was hard to believe that this quality of fish could be had in Las Vegas. But seriously, every single thing we ate was incredible. My friends and I were positively flooded that each new thing we ordered was just as delicious as the last thing we ordered. The only thing I remembered to take a photo of was the honey toast, which was also fantastic. Our server, Marc, was only on his third day. But he was fun and full of personality, and had an insane amount of great recommendations. He almost told us what to order for our entire meal, and he knocked it out of the park. The place is a bit small, and it is pretty much always slammed busy, which is why we've never had the chance to come here before. Since it's so small, it tends to be pretty loud. So so happy we finally got to try this place. It has been on our list for quite sometime but due to the long wait we pushed it out. We got here around 9ish and wait was maybe 5 min with a couple ahead of us. Service was great- was welcomed in by a friendly young lady. And our server was great too. Love the feel of the restaurant. We sat at the bar and their table seating seems great for small groups. The menu was filled with some of our faves and some new things. Idk where to start but food was great! Skewers were good and one thing that left us remembering was their version of miso soup. Fish was fresh and really can't complain. We were going to pull up on Thursday night for dinner but luckily, I saw a tip from yelp that it would be best to make a reservation. When I called the restaurant, they said everything was booked until 7:30pm so we took the first available. We were seated quickly after arriving and it looked like the only available seating was at the bar, so if you plan to go, it would be best to reserve ahead if you want a table. We ordered skewers: salt chicken*, marinated pork, chicken skin, shitake mushroom*, bacon mochi. Everything was good but my favorites were the ones with the stars. We got the poke salad and the Hachi chicken salad*. I highly recommend the Hachi chicken salad! It had juicy chicken and the crispy bowl was delicious! We also ordered meatballs with poached egg, pork chasu, Hiyashi Nasu(cold eggplant), a jalapeno yellowtail roll* and yam noodles*. We've been coming to Hachi for a bit now, and I can say that the service, and food is ALWAYS the same. Friendly, quick and delicious! I HIGHLY recommend making a reservation ahead of time, because while they open at 5:30, reservations will always be booked for that time, and they will have a wait even if you get there at opening. However, if you don't mind bar seating that is always an option, and it was what we did when we went for the first time as a walk-in. The energy in the restaurant is always high, and service is so friendly. This last visit was a visit for my birthday, we got sat in the side room that has three tables in there, it was perfect. They let us know when making the reservation that there would be a 90-minute time limit, and we felt that was the right amount of time, nothing felt rushed and all the food we ordered was coursed out nicely. Highly recommend getting the Sashimi 6 choice option - for $29.95 you get such a great selection of sashimi, so fresh and tasty! Recently went to Hachi and had a great experience. We visited on a late Sunday night with a party of 10, and even though our reservation was for 8pm, we were seated almost an hour early, which was a nice surprise. Heads up that parking is extremely limited and the surrounding area doesn't feel the safest, so it's best to avoid bringing valuables or keep them out of sight. Once seated, service was quick and efficient, and we were able to get our orders in without any issues. We ended up trying a wide variety of items: Pork Belly (5/5): Super juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. One of the standout dishes. Duck Skewers (4/5): Slightly firmer and gamier than expected, but still enjoyable and worth trying if you like duck. Ramen (3/5): The weakest of the bunch. Noodles had a texture similar to al dente chicken noodle soup, and the broth felt a bit thin and lacking depth. Sukiyaki (5/5): Rich, flavorful broth that soaked perfectly into the glass noodles, with plenty of tofu, veggies, and beef. Very satisfying. Tiger Roll (5/5): Fresh and generously filled, with a great balance of toppings in each bite. I want to start by saying that I genuinely like Hachi and the food is excellent. There are several standout dishes that keep me coming back. The Hachi Style Salad with diced chicken and mixed greens on a crispy wrap with garlic onion and house special dressing is fantastic. The bluefin toro nigiri is so satisfyingly buttery. For the yakitori menu, there are some clear winners. The pork belly is great both salted and with sauce, though I personally preferred the salted version. I also tried the pork with negi shio (Japanese green onions) which was really good. The premium wagyu beef skewer was rich and delicious, and I could easily eat a whole platter of the enoki wrapped in bacon. The shiitake butter mushrooms with soy sauce are simple but incredibly satisfying, especially paired with the wagyu skewer. Their Japanese brown rice tea with matcha is such comforting drink. We actually went two nights in a row. The first night, on Thursday, everything was great and the service was on point. The second night, however, felt very different. I arrived around 10:00 PM and was told the wait would be about 20 minutes. After roughly 25 minutes, I checked back in with the host and she asked for my name. I mentioned that the other host had not asked for it when I arrived, which was concerning. She then turned to the other host, who said she hadn't taken my name and instead had written down "green." Her exact words were, "I didn't ask for your name. I just wrote down green. It was easier." Mind you, I was wearing a yellow sweater, and throughout the time I had been there I was the one politely communicating with her, not my friend in the green sweater. The response came across as pretty rude and dismissive. She also mentioned that when I arrived there were two parties ahead of me, yet during that time they seated four groups: one table of four and three separate tables of couples. Around 10:30 PM I went back up to ask how their seating and reservation system worked. They confirmed there were two parties ahead of me when I checked in and that the other groups seated had reservations. The confusing part is that I had called around 9:30 PM before coming in and was told they do not take reservations. When I brought that up, they clarified that they do take reservations, just not same day and that they need to be made days in advance. That information would have been helpful when I called earlier. The friend who introduced me to Hachi also mentioned that they usually only take reservations for groups of six or more, which added to the confusion since none of the groups seated before me were parties of six. I ended up finally being seated at 10:41 PM. The food here really is great, which is why I came back two nights in a row. I just hope the host stand communication and waitlist process can be improved, because the experience at the front door didn't match the quality of the food. read more

Our group of 7 was told they didn't have any reservations until 9/930 for Saturday night while we were in Vegas, but they did say we could show up at opening and they would see how they could accommodate us at that time....and so we did! We were first in line before they opened at 5:30pm, and we were told they would take care of some people with reservations first and then seat us, and we would have to finish before 7pm in time for the next reservation. Our group of 7 finished dinner just before 7pm, so they did work fast even with all of our skewer orders and I think our group enjoyed their Karaage, Pork Cheek and Chicken Skewers. Also tried an interesting Squid skewer (can't remember the name), but texture is like cartilage and has a good smoky flavor from the grill. I would say each skewer ranges between $2.50-$4/each. They ran out of salmon collar already so we also got 2 Yellowtail (smaller size) that was tasty. First, let me just say Hachi is in a BUSY plaza and shares a parking lot that is way too small to support all the businesses in the area, making parking a logistical nightmare. Make sure you carpool and get here early. It took us 10 min to find parking. Additionally, this place appears to always be packed. Thankfully, they take reservations--including earlier on the same day if you squirrel brain and forget until day of (like me)! The entryway is nearly nonexistent and there's very little standing or sitting room. There's a handful of chairs in the waiting area. Once we got sat, everything was pretty smooth and easygoing. They had a lottttt of food items and a couple menus to look at. The skewers were on their own paper menu for marking selections. They serve alcohol as well but I found their sake menu to be underwhelming. Personally, I like nigori sake but they only had one option. Think of the food and ordering like tapas. The plates and serving sizes were mostly smaller plates and the four of us ordered various things and shared. The sashimi was super fresh and delicious--I could have ordered that 10x over. The chicken skin was okay. It honestly reminded me more of chicharrónes though. Service was good. I accidentally tripped on a lamp cord and the staff was super nice about (versus judgmental). Our waitress was also very helpful and took time to explain the menu to us. We were looked after well. Overall, I'm happy I checked this place off the list of places to try. After our second time visiting, I felt like they were due for a review. Firstly, they only take reservations on the phone and it sounds like they book out in advance, so don't take your chances with a same-day reservation on a weekend! We unfortunately did that and they didn't have anything available for a Saturday, but the upside is that their bar seating is for walk-ins if you have a party of 3 or less (no children). We arrived around 5:15-5:20pm (right before they opened) with a party of 3 and we were probably the second-to-last group to be seated at the bar. We still had to wait a bit, maybe 15, 20 minutes after they opened since they needed to get all reservations situated first. Note - there is a reservation vs walk-in line when you first arrive if it's before they open. Sitting at the bar with 3 was actually not bad! Thankfully they were able to seat us where 1 person was on one side of the corner and the other 2 were on the other side, so it didn't really feel like we were missing much experience-wise. I also like that we were able to see them grilling the yakitori. We ordered a ton of yakitori, but our favorites were very surprising: #1: The shiitake mushroom was our collective favorite and maybe the best shiitake mushroom I've ever had. Believe the hype! #2: We also loved the bacon-wrapped enoki mushroom. #3: Pork w/ negi shio - super tender Everything else was still good, but those were standouts. We also ordered the yellowtail collar, monkfish liver, and a sashimi platter. Everything else was also cooked well, and very fresh tasting. The monkfish liver was a good portion size, so we were able to share. My mother-in-law is hard to impress, but she was extremely satisfied and happy with the dinner. We made a reservation and got here 10 minutes before opening and there were still about 6-7 parties waiting in line! Luckily they let those with reservations in first. Plenty of parking. You walk in and you see the walls covered in photos of well known guests and their signatures. I recognized a few Japanese comedians near the wall I was sitting at. Ordered too many things but the things that stood out were the quality of the sushi/sashimi. Salmon sashimi, uni gunkanmaki, ama-ebi, ootoro. Hamachi Kama was piping hot, crispy edges, soft and moist inside. Perfectly salted. Obviously got the brick toast even though we were so full. Such delicious vanilla ice cream, honey, toasted bread. Definitely still thinking about this place especially with the great prices. Would recommend making a reservation to avoid waiting in line. read more

Hachi is one of my favorite spots to visit whenever I'm in Vegas. The menu is packed with delicious options--from sushi to yakitori and so much more. My go-to order always starts with the Hachi salad, followed by a few rounds of yakitori . I also love the tako wasabi--super flavorful and refreshing. But the absolute must-try? The mochi cheese bacon. It's hands down my favorite! This visit in particular was just perfect. Even though the place was packed, the vibe was great and the service was fast and friendly. Hachi has been consistently my favorite Yakitori place to go to whenever I am in Vegas. I especially like the option to pick between salt or tare sauce. The chicken is smokey, moist and flavorful. There are options for beef or pork and sushi if you want nigiri or sushi. I been to most of the skewer places in Las Vegas and Hachi is the best. Service is excellent with prompt service despite being busy all the time. A central counter is lively and can seat walk-ins. read more
