hachi is lowkey my favorite chill, loungey bar place! gets busy fast but its welll worth it. went here recently again with some friends and snagged some chuhais. theyre a great option if you dont like strong tasting drinks that are huge and affordable! the mango was great and the lemon wasnt sour which i was afraid of. the seasonal peach oolong was crazy good and we would go back for that alone. we felt that the double shot watered down the tea flavor though! got a few skewers, the mushroom bacon was my favorite. my friend loved the chicken skin, and we all really liked the chicken thigh. make sure to ask for extra of the skewer salt! i dont usually like sukiyaki broth but it was delicious and shareable with another person if you order other bites. the yellowtail carpaccio and hamachi handroll practically melted, quality was peak. tiger roll was great too, and i liked that it wasnt drowned in sauce. only thing we didnt like was the steak, it was prettyy dry despite being marinated and still a little pink. (i dont think they asked our cooking preference) otherwise, the space is very pretty, and the service is great and friendly! highly recommend, and im already wanting to make my next visit soon
Came here on a Friday night and didn't have to wait long at all. We got seated at the sushi bar although I would have preferred a table. I did like how the sushi chef handed us each dish as it was done though. I enjoyed the tapas, sushi/nigiri, and yakitori mixes. They had a grill to grill all the yakitoris. It's nice to be able to enjoy small portions of food to try more things. Everything we got was pretty good and I was surprised how inexpensive the bill was since I was expecting more. Nice place to grab small bites.
Our second time here and the food is amazing yet again! The seating wraps around the open bar and kitchen area, so you're essentially dining around the heart of the cooking space. It has a warm ambient glow that makes the whole place feel intimate, but noise levels can be a bit high due to the close proximity of the tables and lack of noise buffer. Their drink menu is also creative, with unique cocktails and seasonal specials worth exploring. We tried a bunch of different food items: Takoyaki balls: the BEST balls ever! And that's saying a lot because we've been to Japan ! Takoyaki itself is a classic Osaka street food, traditionally made with diced octopus in a savory batter cooked in molded griddles. Here at Hachi, these takoyaki balls are crispy on the outside with a soft center, sitting abed a rich mayo-based sauce. What makes these stand out is the contrast with the balls of delicious and, instead of a fully liquid sauce, there are small chunks of cream cheese blended in, so you have bites of that with the battered balls! Agedashi Tofu: Lightly fried tofu served in a delicate dashi broth. The exterior is soft with a bit of crisp, while the inside stays silky and custard-like. The broth is clean and, if I dare say, savory but light. Basically a punch of umami and extremely balanced! Karaage: They are known for their chicken karaage, and it absolutely delivers. The chicken lightly coated and fried until golden and crisp while staying incredibly juicy inside. Each bite has a satisfying crunch followed by tender, flavorful meat! I highly recommend pairing it with the negi sauce, which delivers a a tangy vinegar-based scallion sauce that cuts through the fat and oils, and it deeply enhances the flavor of the chicken. Yakitori Skewers: Yakitori is a traditional Japanese grilling style where small skewers of meat are cooked over charcoal. The focus is on simple flavors utilizing high-quality ingredients. We tried a mix of skewers, which comes with a slice of lemon on top to be squeezed over the skewers: * Wagyu skewers: rich, buttery, and cooked to perfection * Beef tongue: more chewy and textured, so not a huge fan of it * Chicken skin: ultra crispy with rendered fat and a satisfying crunch * Pork belly with green onions: fatty, smoky, and balanced by the freshness of scallions We also ordered a fresh scallop skewer, grilled shrimp with tartar sauce, and eel. The scallops were sweet and tender with 3 pieces per skewer. The shrimp was cooked and de-shelled and served with a tartar sauce. The eel was the most memorable with its rich, tender, and deeply savory taste. Eel (unagi) is considered a delicacy in Japanese cuisine where it's known for its sweet glaze and soft texture. Our favorites were definitely the eel and scallop skewers.
I saw an ad appear on Instagram saying this is the most famous Yakitori place in Las Vegas! So I went on Yelp to check the ratings and they were pretty high so me and my husband decided to go check it out... RESERVATIONS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! A LINE forms before opening!!!!! It was our first time going so we didn't know that they took reservations. We got there 15 minutes before opening time and we were the 3rd customers to be seated at the BAR which was kind of nice... WAGYU: 10/10 STAR OF THE SHOW!! We kept ordering more and more of them. It was the best Yakitori I've ever had and I'm comparing it to the ones I usually have in San Diego. Next time, we'll just start with 6 orders of Wagyu please!! TSUKUNE: 10/10 HONORABLE MENTION!!! We ordered 4 of these!!! I believe it's Chicken Meatball skewers. I can still recall the taste of it at the tip of my tongue. I definitely would like some more... SCALLOPS: 10/10 So sweet and tender! I have no complaints. It's usually chewy elsewhere but, the one I had here was not chewy at all... TAKOYAKI: 8/10 Pretty good. Lots of mayo sauce underneath the takoyaki. I just like the outside to be more crispy but, it was still employable... PORK BELLY: 8/10 I'm not a big pork fan except for pork jowl at KBBQ, Al pastor or chicharrones!! But if you like pork belly then, you will enjoy it!! CHICKEN DON BURI: 8/10 Not bad! It reminded me of a more authentic Yoskinoya bowl... FRIED OYSTERS: 10/10 It was perfect and satisfying! I love oysters and the world is your oyster so... SERVICE: A+ EXCELLENT!!! NENE was our lovely waitress for the night and she's the best! She's so attentive, gave really good recommendations, patient and she can speak Thai. We loved her!!! Thank you Nene and all the hardworking staff!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND TRYING THIS PLACE!!! A meal so fantastic I sincerely forgot to take photos of almost any kind. Sincerely one of my top 3 restaurants in Vegas after only having eaten once. We came with the objective as trying as many foods as possible. Karaage, takoyaki, pork belly, Hot pot, sashimi, nigiri, Yakitori, a ton of skewers, and more. I'm forgetting stuff, but every single thing we ate was positively divine. The highlights were definitely the karaage, which were so crispy and impossibly juicy at the same time, the pork belly, which had an incredible salty flavor with the perfect crispiness, a wagyu skewer, and the sashimi. Oh my god, I've never had softer fish in my life. It was hard to believe that this quality of fish could be had in Las Vegas. But seriously, every single thing we ate was incredible. My friends and I were positively flooded that each new thing we ordered was just as delicious as the last thing we ordered. The only thing I remembered to take a photo of was the honey toast, which was also fantastic. Our server, Marc, was only on his third day. But he was fun and full of personality, and had an insane amount of great recommendations. He almost told us what to order for our entire meal, and he knocked it out of the park. Super funny and great server. Keep up the great work, Marc. We all would love to see you again! The place is a bit small, and it is pretty much always slammed busy, which is why we've never had the chance to come here before. Since it's so small, it tends to be pretty loud. Despite that, the place still feels stylish in it's own chill way. If you're able to get a table, definitely do so. The experience is almost unspeakably worth it.
Love the depth of this menu. Service was great. Love the Japanese ambiance. Came specifically to try their skewers. The grilled shiitake mushroom was my favorite. The chicken was a close second, though it felt a bit too crispy on the outside and not as crispy towards the inside. Takoyaki was fire. I must come back to try the sushi.
So so happy we finally got to try this place. It has been on our list for quite sometime but due to the long wait we pushed it out. We got here around 9ish and wait was maybe 5 min with a couple ahead of us. Service was great- was welcomed in by a friendly young lady. And our server was great too. Love the feel of the restaurant. We sat at the bar and their table seating seems great for small groups. The menu was filled with some of our faves and some new things. Idk where to start but food was great! Skewers were good and one thing that left us remembering was their version of miso soup. Fish was fresh and really can't complain. There are so many other items we want to try and already planning to come back. Definitely a must try if you havent yet!
We were going to pull up on Thursday night for dinner but luckily, I saw a tip from yelp that it would be best to make a reservation. When I called the restaurant, they said everything was booked until 7:30pm so we took the first available. We were seated quickly after arriving and it looked like the only available seating was at the bar, so if you plan to go, it would be best to reserve ahead if you want a table. We ordered skewers: salt chicken*, marinated pork, chicken skin, shitake mushroom*, bacon mochi. Everything was good but my favorites were the ones with the stars. We got the poke salad and the Hachi chicken salad*. I highly recommend the Hachi chicken salad! It had juicy chicken and the crispy bowl was delicious! We also ordered meatballs with poached egg, pork chasu, Hiyashi Nasu(cold eggplant), a jalapeno yellowtail roll* and yam noodles*. It was such a tasty meal and the sushi was surprisingly good and cheaper than I am used too. The staff was attentive and friendly. Can't wait to come back to try more stuff! This is one of my new favorite places in Vegas!
Went here with my friends!! Such fresh and yummy food!! I love the chicken thighs and Wagyu skewers here. The waiters are so sweet and answered all our questions. Great vibe here and really crowded! Amazing place to get food off strip but close to the hotels. Such a gem I'm coming back whenever I go to Vegas again
Recently went to Hachi and had a great experience. We visited on a late Sunday night with a party of 10, and even though our reservation was for 8pm, we were seated almost an hour early, which was a nice surprise. Heads up that parking is extremely limited and the surrounding area doesn't feel the safest, so it's best to avoid bringing valuables or keep them out of sight. Once seated, service was quick and efficient, and we were able to get our orders in without any issues. We ended up trying a wide variety of items: Pork Belly (5/5): Super juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. One of the standout dishes. Duck Skewers (4/5): Slightly firmer and gamier than expected, but still enjoyable and worth trying if you like duck. Ramen (3/5): The weakest of the bunch. Noodles had a texture similar to al dente chicken noodle soup, and the broth felt a bit thin and lacking depth. Sukiyaki (5/5): Rich, flavorful broth that soaked perfectly into the glass noodles, with plenty of tofu, veggies, and beef. Very satisfying. Tiger Roll (5/5): Fresh and generously filled, with a great balance of toppings in each bite. Pork Katsu (5/5): Fried perfectly with a crisp exterior, not greasy, and paired well with the katsu sauce and refreshing salad. Takoyaki (5/5): Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and filled with generous pieces of octopus. Overall, a great izakaya experience with a wide variety of strong dishes. I'd definitely come back to explore more of the menu next time.
Absolutely horrible customer service. The older woman at the front desk was unbelievably rude, disrespectful, and aggressive for absolutely no reason. I calmly explained that I had just called and was specifically told we could come directly and that our table could be held. Instead of listening or trying to help, she immediately responded with a nasty attitude and said, "If you don't want to wait, you can leave." We spent almost $190 for two people, and no customer spending that kind of money should ever be treated this way. Her behavior completely ruined the experience for us. Because of the way she treated us, I will never come back or recommend this place to anyone. Management seriously needs to do something about the front desk staff.

Wow, I have serious FOMO for this place. Where have I been for the last 10 years?! I first visited Hachi back in 2015 when they had just opened. I remember thinking it was good, but the yakitori was a little too salty for my taste. I think that's why we never made it back. Even though I've heard great things about it over the years, we were busy trying all the new restaurants popping up around town. Well, here I am 10 years later, and I'm kicking myself for waiting so long. Hachi is officially the best izakaya in Las Vegas. In fact, I'd put it above some of the highly regarded izakayas I've tried in Costa Mesa and Irvine. The food quality is chef's kiss. Tip: Make reservations. This place fills up quickly. Ambiance (4/5): A true hole-in-the-wall Japanese izakaya feel. Simple, cozy, and clean. Service (5/5): Quick, friendly, and efficient. Food (5/5): Fresh sashimi, delicious appetizers, and perfectly executed yakitori. Loved: * Beef Tongue Skewers (5/5) * Chicken Skin (5/5) * Chicken Thigh (5/5) * Sashimi 5 Kinds (5/5) * Pork Cheek (5/5) * Scallops & Uni Carpaccio (5/5) * Salmon Carpaccio (5/5) * Karaage (5/5) Ok: * Agedashi Tofu (3/5) * Beef Tataki (3/5) * Tsukune (3/5) * Scallop Skewers (3/5) I'll definitely be back soon for more sashimi and yakitori. Ambiance: very small restaurant so i can see why they're so busy. make sure you make a reservation here in advance. small japanese restaurant and it felt pretty authentic to what'd you see in japan Service: service was fast & our server was really nice. made some great recommendations. because they're super busy & other servers drop off your food, there were a few minor mistakes Food: food was good here! really enjoyed the fresh sushi bowl - probably the freshest seafood in town! everything else we tried here were pretty good esp the wagyu skewers. i'd recommend just asking the server what's popular and you can't go wrong with what you pick read more

I forgot I had been here before.... This time and last it was great! One the best sushi places off strip! Not to far of a uber ride tho too. Enjoyed all the carpaccio dishes and few slices of toro. Yummmmm. The prices are reasonable and selection is fantastic.. .. must visit! read more

Absolutely horrible customer service. The older woman at the front desk was unbelievably rude, disrespectful, and aggressive for absolutely no reason. Great food. You get to see them make the skewers right in front of you. The food is fresh and they have some of the highest quality fatty tuna here. Drinks were good, service was good, and the ambiance made me feel like I was in Japan. read more
Amazing Japanese izakaya! We've made reservations via phone, which is highly recommended since they are always busy. Each time we've been, there were always people waiting for a table. All foods I ordered were very good. Especially bluefin Chutoro was delicious It was very busy on Friday night. I waited for the bar for 30 minutes which wasn't so bad. We've been coming to Hachi for a bit now, and I can say that the service, and food is ALWAYS the same. Friendly, quick and delicious! I HIGHLY recommend making a reservation ahead of time, because while they open at 5:30, reservations will always be booked for that time, and they will have a wait even if you get there at opening. However, if you don't mind bar seating that is always an option, and it was what we did when we went for the first time as a walk-in. The energy in the restaurant is always high, and service is so friendly. This last visit was a visit for my birthday, we got sat in the side room that has three tables in there, it was perfect. They let us know when making the reservation that there would be a 90-minute time limit, and we felt that was the right amount of time, nothing felt rushed and all the food we ordered was coursed out nicely. Highly recommend getting the Sashimi 6 choice option - for $29.95 you get such a great selection of sashimi, so fresh and tasty! If opting for skewers - YOU MUST get the duck breast with salt, you will not be disappointed Overall one of my favorite restaurants, and will definitely be back! read more

This is a yakitori spot where everything we ordered was amazing. The chicken skin was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. If you come here, you must try the fried calamari -- it's a must-order. The takoyaki really stood out too. At most places, you barely get any octopus, but here the octopus pieces were generous, tender, and super satisfying in every bite. And the draft beer? Say no more -- ice-cold, refreshing, and absolutely perfect. Honestly, there isn't a single bad item on the menu. Restaurant atmosphere feels like Little Tokyo. Each booth feels private because they have little curtains. The bar area is great for sushi rolls. We ate izakaya and enjoyed the smoky mequite wood flavor in eachnof the food. The restaurant is well organized with such a tight space in the kitchen. Hachi is hands-down my favorite Vegas spot when I want to get away from the tourist traps. The moment you walk in, the vibe completely transports you to an alleyway in Japan. It's authentic, lively, and consistently packed--definitely make a reservation because this place is a local legend in Chinatown. The Highlights: * Yakitori on Binchotan: You can really taste the difference that the traditional charcoal makes. The smoky aroma is perfect. The chicken thigh was juicy and well-seasoned, but the scallop skewers were the absolute winners of the night--perfectly grilled and tender. * The Sushi & Raw Bar: For an izakaya, the sushi quality is elite. The Uni, Shrimp, and Scallop nigiri were incredibly fresh and creamy. * Ankimo (Monkfish Liver): If you're a fan of rich, "foie gras of the sea" textures, their Ankimo is a must-order. It was prepared perfectly--velvety and clean. * Small Plates: We ordered a huge variety of tapas-style dishes, and the efficiency of the kitchen is impressive given how busy they are. The Experience: It's a semi-casual but refined setting that works for a date or a big group dinner. It's located in a strip mall on Jones Blvd, so parking can be a little tight, but it is 100% worth the short drive from the Strip for this level of quality and price. As far as izakaya goes in Vegas, I was pretty impressed with Hachi! Reservations are strongly recommended, especially for larger groups. Our group of 7 was told they didn't have any reservations until 9/930 for Saturday night while we were in Vegas, but they did say we could show up at opening and they would see how they could accommodate us at that time....and so we did! We were first in line before they opened at 5:30pm, and we were told they would take care of some people with reservations first and then seat us, and we would have to finish before 7pm in time for the next reservation. Our group of 7 finished dinner just before 7pm, so they did work fast even with all of our skewer orders and I think our group enjoyed their Karaage, Pork Cheek and Chicken Skewers. Also tried an interesting Squid skewer (can't remember the name), but texture is like cartilage and has a good smoky flavor from the grill. I would say each skewer ranges between $2.50-$4/each. They ran out of salmon collar already so we also got 2 Yellowtail (smaller size) that was tasty. Takoyaki was standard & others in my group who tried the Ramen and Katsu said they were standard as well. Parking is shared lot in plaza. First time here and I absolutely loved it. Went on a Saturday night, it was about a 25minute wait. Food was so fresh. Really enjoyed everything we had. We had a tiger roll, pork belly, chicken thigh, the bacon wrapped Mochi, and more . I didn't even take pics of everything because it was so good. They sit larger parties in booths and perhaps parties of 2 at the bar. Would definitely recommend and return. read more

I want to start by saying that I genuinely like Hachi and the food is excellent. There are several standout dishes that keep me coming back. The Hachi Style Salad with diced chicken and mixed greens on a crispy wrap with garlic onion and house special dressing is fantastic. The bluefin toro nigiri is so satisfyingly buttery. For the yakitori menu, there are some clear winners. The pork belly is great both salted and with sauce, though I personally preferred the salted version. I also tried the pork with negi shio (Japanese green onions) which was really good. The premium wagyu beef skewer was rich and delicious, and I could easily eat a whole platter of the enoki wrapped in bacon. The shiitake butter mushrooms with soy sauce are simple but incredibly satisfying, especially paired with the wagyu skewer. Their Japanese brown rice tea with matcha is such comforting drink. We actually went two nights in a row. The first night, on Thursday, everything was great and the service was on point. The second night, however, felt very different. I arrived around 10:00 PM and was told the wait would be about 20 minutes. After roughly 25 minutes, I checked back in with the host and she asked for my name. I mentioned that the other host had not asked for it when I arrived, which was concerning. She then turned to the other host, who said she hadn't taken my name and instead had written down "green." Her exact words were, "I didn't ask for your name. I just wrote down green. It was easier." Mind you, I was wearing a yellow sweater, and throughout the time I had been there I was the one politely communicating with her, not my friend in the green sweater. The response came across as pretty rude and dismissive. She also mentioned that when I arrived there were two parties ahead of me, yet during that time they seated four groups: one table of four and three separate tables of couples. Around 10:30 PM I went back up to ask how their seating and reservation system worked. They confirmed there were two parties ahead of me when I checked in and that the other groups seated had reservations. The confusing part is that I had called around 9:30 PM before coming in and was told they do not take reservations. When I brought that up, they clarified that they do take reservations, just not same day and that they need to be made days in advance. That information would have been helpful when I called earlier. The friend who introduced me to Hachi also mentioned that they usually only take reservations for groups of six or more, which added to the confusion since none of the groups seated before me were parties of six. I ended up finally being seated at 10:41 PM. The food here really is great, which is why I came back two nights in a row. I just hope the host stand communication and waitlist process can be improved, because the experience at the front door didn't match the quality of the food. read more
First, let me just say Hachi is in a BUSY plaza and shares a parking lot that is way too small to support all the businesses in the area, making parking a logistical nightmare. Make sure you carpool and get here early. It took us 10 min to find parking. Additionally, this place appears to always be packed. Thankfully, they take reservations--including earlier on the same day if you squirrel brain and forget until day of (like me)! The entryway is nearly nonexistent and there's very little standing or sitting room. There's a handful of chairs in the waiting area. Once we got sat, everything was pretty smooth and easygoing. They had a lottttt of food items and a couple menus to look at. The skewers were on their own paper menu for marking selections. They serve alcohol as well but I found their sake menu to be underwhelming. Personally, I like nigori sake but they only had one option. Think of the food and ordering like tapas. The plates and serving sizes were mostly smaller plates and the four of us ordered various things and shared. The sashimi was super fresh and delicious--I could have ordered that 10x over. The chicken skin was okay. It honestly reminded me more of chicharrónes though. Service was good. I accidentally tripped on a lamp cord and the staff was super nice about (versus judgmental). Our waitress was also very helpful and took time to explain the menu to us. We were looked after well. Overall, I'm happy I checked this place off the list of places to try. My friends and I all liked the food and we were happy about having a nice spot to get together for girls night. read more
Came here for dinner while we were in town for a work conference on a Tuesday night. I was surprised how crowded it was for a work night. Great food and fun vibes. Restaurant offers a variety of Japanese foods including yakitori, sushi, sukiyaki. Our server was great! I enjoyed the jalapeño yellowtail and the wagyu skewers. We keep coming back here, and I think this is already our fifth visit. We really enjoy ordering food from this place, especially the Japanese skewers -- they're always so good! It was our first time trying the Japanese toast with vanilla ice cream, and it tasted great for the price. We will definitely highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Was here last week for the 2nd time & it was just as good as the first time! Luckily, we were able to make reservations on a short notice & got seated right away. Place was packed on a Thursday night but service was still efficient. Hubby & I invited his aunt to join us who was visiting from SF. She enjoyed it as much as we did. We ordered the chicken skin again bc it's my personal fav along with the duck skewer, beef tongue, & pork. We also had the seared garlic tuna & bluefin toro sashimi. The garlic tuna had depth in flavor esp with the red onions on top. Bluefin toro was fresh. There are so many choices on the menu that I hope to try more variety next time. read more
