While on a recent visit to my inlaws in Chicago I had the missfortune of locking myself out of my car. I was cold, windy and snowing! Not a real good time to be stuck on the street. Just joined Yelp to write this review. A few weeks ago I lost my entire set of keys. For anyone who's ever had to replace a car key, you know it's a huge and expensive pain. I knew it wouldn't be cheap, but I had no idea how hard it would be to get an accurate quote and explanation of what needed to be done. Even through a AAA representative, shops quoted wildly different rates and services even when I called the same shop multiple times (the dealership wanted $1500!!!). I came across Omega and called because of good yelp reviews. The friendly couple that runs the business showed up at my house in Logan Square in 15 minutes and explained to me exactly how internal chips work (turns out a lot of keys don't actually have them regardless of what the dealership tells you). Despite the fact that it was a difficult lock and took awhile to recreate, they charged me exactly what I had been quoted over the phone, gave me TWO keys, and offered advice on filing an insurance claim. They also accept credit cards. So nice to find a company with integrity in an industry with such a lousy reputation (auto service that is, not locksmiths). Will definitely recommend. read more

I lost the keys to my friends car! I had borrowed a friends car while visiting for the week. Just a quick run up to the mall to do some shopping and catch a movie. When I got out to the car, I could not find the keys. *&%(%*%, I went back to the theater and they let me check the area where I had been sitting...no keys! I was really embarassed, I did not want to call my friend because they would have to get a cab or someone to bring them with the spare keys. Let me just say, it's rare that a place goes above and beyond my expectations but OMEGA Locksmith did just that!  This company is AMMMMAAZZINNGG!!!  I'm pretty much a ditz about losing things and after years of playing  hid-and-seek with fate, it finally happened: I lost my 2010 Prius car keys. I first called the Toyota dealers - and they were going to charge me 190 for the key and then  another 160 for  the silver key. Then, it was extra to just program the damn thing. That would've cost me a lot of cash. Anyways, all over the internet -- and finally I found omega Locksmith. I called them and a man named jose answered me. He was polite, clear about their prices, and super friendly! He did an excellent job He was able to finish in less than 30 minutes and the price was even better.  Anyways, if you're ever in this predicament call them! I was so upset when I realized I had lost my car keys. I called my dealer to find out how much it would cost to make car keys replacement. It was quite expensive so I called Omega Locksmith where I heard from my friend that they are the best automotive locksmith in chicago. They had somebody out to see me in less than 30 minutes which was really impressive. The guy they sent out was really friendly and had my ford transponder keys replacement for me in no time at all.this automotive locksmith gave me a great quote for the replacement car key and did not try to charge me more when it was time to pay like some other companies do. Omega was amazing! I recently lost a car key to my Mazda. I decided that I wanted to make a duplicate just in case I lost my final key. When I called the dealer, they quoted me $200 just to get a key, plus it was going to take two hours, plus the only dealership was in Evanston. I quickly searched for a locksmith. I called Omega and he offered to come to where the car was parked on the street, and do the work for the half the price. I didn't even have to leave my block and the Omega locksmith completed the work in his truck and my car. For convenience and price, I don't think you can miss (p.s. I never give 5 Star reviews, but I was very tempted to do so this time. While on a recent stay over in Chicago, I lost my keys. I really did not know anyone in the area as I was on a lay over between flights. The concierge at the hotel recommended Omega Locksmith. I called and withing 30 minutes Jose was there. JOSE did a GREAT job! Jose was polite, knew what needed to be done, came prepared, was detailed, offered a fair price,arrived on time and did not leave until we were satisfied with his work. Not many companies do that these days. Most are ghosts. Other companies I contacted, wanted $25 to see the job for an estimate. Non-Stop did it for free. I locked my keys in my car actually my trunk for my 2009 honda accord lol long story short called omega locksmith and jose was there in half hour hour. and opened my car and handed me my keys so fast i forgot i even locked in the car in the first place thanks jose he even offered me a good price on a spare key for emergencies. If you have lost your car keys or you just need some spare keys made, count on no other Chicago locksmith but Omega! I spent last Sunday afternoon visiting my aunt in Lincoln Park, and when it was time to go, I could not find the keys to my 2005 Yukon. We looked everywhere, but they were nowhere to be found, so I had to call an automotive locksmith. I didn't like the idea of calling out a locksmith on a Sunday afternoon, but I bit the bullet and called Omega Locksmith. I would recommend them to anyone. I lost the only car key to my 2008 Ford Fusion. After calling a couple Ford dealers they kept telling me I needed to tow the car in to have new keys programmed. A colleague recommended Omega Locksmith and after giving them a call they got my info and came right out to my garage. After finding out that my car's VIN number wasn't registered because it was a salvage (of which I had no idea) they had to use a special tool. Omega Locksmith rules! I was in Chicago to play a show and wouldn't you know it, at 2:30 am, after the show, packed all our rental equipment in the car that i BORROWED from my aunt - I dropped the keys down a sewer! I did not want to call my uncle and freak him out - Lord have mercy - not the greatest neighborhood in the world.... my friend had internet access on his phone and did a quick internet search and Omega Locksmith popped up. Excellent service and fair price. While at local dance club, I lost my car keys. Jose of Omega Locksmith showed up within 30 minutes of being called. He was quick and friendly. I then had him meet me at my home so that he could let me in and make me new keys for my front door. I'm very impressed and pleased with the fast and professional work that jose from omega not only was he fast and prompt the cost was reasonable I was having a family day at the beach when the kids lost my keys somewhere in the sand I called Omega and they were there within half an hour to 45 minutes and made the key within 10 minutes for my 2011 Chevy Impala. Everyone outside cause it was charging me an arm and a leg and we're going to take about an hour to two hours so I would definitely recommend omega for your hands on locksmith. read more

I regret not calling Omega first! No one else could make a new key for my 1996 Nissan Maxima after i lost my only set. I cannot say enough good about this company. I recently lost my only car key so I called the local dealership to ask them what it would cost to get a new key. They quoted me at $500 plus the cost of a tow truck to get my car to the dealer. I thought that was an outlandish price to pay so I went to Google and found Omega. I lost my keys about 3 weeks ago, so I called the dealership and they said they could get me a key, but failed to tell me it would take this long!
