After moving to Santa Clara, it's a trip how different it is compared to living in San Jose. Biggest difference? Instead of having 8 Milk Tea spots within a 3 mile radius of your place, OMG Tea has to be the only one I know of that's close. And it also happens to be in the same office building where I work. It's all about convenience. When my Milk Tea addict friends came to visit, they asked if there were Boba spots in the area, and this was the only place that I could think of. Walking in on a Sunday was much like walking into any other Tea Spot in San Jose- Crowded, busy and had a line out the door. The place itself was a good size-- modern, airy with lots of seating. Since I wasn't quite sure what to order, I stuck with the original black milk tea and substituted Lychee for Boba along with 80% less sweet. Not a fan of Boba here (go figure). But much love for some Lychee Jelly. As for the Milk Tea itself, it was a tad too sweet for me. I'm thinking I should have gone less but as with any new spot, it's always a learning curve. 4 stars. OMG Tea has a good variety of drinks to choose from and they all seem to be pretty solid. I came here a few times because it was close to where I lived and all the drinks I ordered did not disappoint. My favorite drink I ordered was an oolong milk tea with ice cream. It was nice and creamy and the tea taste still shines through. The drinks come out in a relatively fast manner so I'd say that the service was pretty solid. You order on a self service kiosk, but be cautious of the automatic tip they include. For a $6 drink, they added $3 tip, which was a bit insane in my opinion. You can edit it out or adjust it, but just keep it in mind when ordering. There is some seating inside, but I felt that the shop was a bit stuffy, so I don't think it's the best spot to do work at. Overall, if you are in the area and are looking for a quick solid drink, I think this place is a good option. Just beware of the automatic $3 tip. read more

I haven't been to this location since the change from Sharetea to OMG. There are enough tea options to drive an indecisive person insane, but luckily they labeled the drink options that are fan favorites. We ordered two Oreo slush drinks at 30% sweet and no boba/toppings. The drinks were made pretty slowly compared to other drink places. It was a little over $12 for both drinks which is high, but also fairly standard around the Bay. The drink was what I'd consider "normal milkshake sweet" even at 30% sweetness and had a pile of Oreo crumbs on top. It was a nice icy/milky texture and the Oreo flavor was spot on. I would recommend sharing this one since we both ended up trashing the last 1/4 of our drinks (only so much Oreo we can handle!). My only complaint was that it had a really strange aftertaste (my guess was the ice???). I'm a huge Oreo fan and would probably get it again, but it also wasn't a drink I'd come back for again and again. I'm excited to try the other delicious sounding drink options here, like the "strawberry slush with ice cream." UPDATE (I.E. the update from 4 to 3 stars): came here a second time and ordered the strawberry ice cream slush at 30% sweet (3 stars, wouldn't recommend), and the Oreo slush again. This time the slush was extremely icy, to the point where I had to throw away half the drink because it will thick ice slush with no Oreo remaining. This was disappointing because the drink is tasty, but for a $5-6 drink it should not be 90% ice! read more

The nice thing about their menu is that they have so many options -- milk teas, fruit teas, coffee drinks, slushies, and more. Debating between coffee and milk teas, I ended up going with the ginger milk tea since I've never had it before. Ginger Milk Tea with mini boba || $4.25 Got mine with no ice and 30% sweet. All I can say is wow. The sharp zing of ginger really does help give you a kick in the tastebuds to help keep you awake. I'm glad I opted for this drink instead of coffee, since coffee usually doesn't bode well for my stomach. Even though the drink was 30% sweet, it still was on the sweeter side for me. I guess I'll have to start trying 0% sweet to see how much sugar is originally in it without extra being added :/ It's nice to see that OMG Tea has mini boba available on their menu since it's not that popular at boba shops. The con was that the boba was overcooked and on the mushy side instead of having that nice chew most people enjoy. PSA: free boba topping with Yelp check-in! As others have commented, the plastic cups they use here are SUPER FLIMSY and thin. If you squeeze with the slightest pressure, your cup will dent in...so be careful. The only sturdy part would be the base of the cup, but they chose to have a funky rounded design which makes your cup more apt to tip over if you aren't mindful. My favorite go-to place for boba!! I come here every week and I mostly get the Brown Sugar boba w/ fresh milk. The 100% sweet for the drink is too sweet for me so I'd recommend 50%. Customer service is phenomenal and the drinks are delicious and customizable. You can always change the tea base, sweetness, and ice level of your liking. He had his fingers on the rim of the cup and before putting it in the sealing machine he went and tilted the cup to pour out the contents so he can properly seal it all along while it touches all his fingers. This is extremely disgusting and extremely unsanitary. You never want anyone touching your food and worst your drink. Whoever the manager is, I hope you read this. Your staff on 01/14/19 who worked till closing. The only Male staff there I would reconsider retraining him or getting rid of him. His unsanitary ways is gonna get people sick.
