Just spent a week staying here and hotel is so beautiful and at the perfect location for exploring a Boston!! The rooms are a bit small but so quaint and cozy with super comfortable beds. The staff were so helpful and nice and made our stay even better. We enjoyed lunch and breakfast at the restaurant which was delicious and ate Boston cream pie several nights. The Omni Parker House is a beautiful historic hotel in the heart of Boston with an unbeatable location. The building is full of character, and the staff was incredibly hospitable throughout our stay. I also enjoyed the restaurant, which served delicious food and added to the overall experience. Unfortunately, there was one major issue that significantly impacted my stay. The bathroom design in my room was shockingly impractical. I am only 5'4", yet there was virtually no way to sit on the toilet because of how it was positioned. It felt like a serious design flaw, and I genuinely do not understand what the architects were thinking or how a room with a bathroom layout like that is considered acceptable for guests. While the hotel's history, location, staff, and dining were all wonderful, the bathroom setup was disappointing enough that it detracted from an otherwise excellent experience. read more

Historic hotel located within walking distance of both of history, restaurants and bars. Beds are comfy, bathroom is small, yet modern and clean. Elevators are slow, but as expected in an older hotel. Might just be a little haunted though. We tried eating at the hotel but unfortunately the kitchen closed by 10 PM and we were seated at 9:55pm I totally could not order any food but that room service was available. The lobby was beautiful, but I was disappointed that the famed Boston cream pie unavailable in any restaurant as we were too late for brunch but too early for dinner. You can wait around the spacious lobby or get one from the gift shop, which I was assured was the exact same except with no plated strawberry. The gift shop itself has all those convenience item sundries for a bit of a markup, but it was nice they had the pies ready to go. It probably isn't as good as the restaurant. It seems the cost is high because they are the originator, but it was a bit dry, perhaps because it's hard to keep a shelf stable cake moist to go. It's also really more of a single serve despite the price. It was nice, but it did seem a bit underwhelming. I do imagine it's fresher from the kitchen, but it did what I needed it. It's more like a temporary souvenir than the best Boston cream pie I've ever had. Next time I will time my visit better. read more

Come to celebrate getting another year older and hopefully wiser. I saw a sign in the Christmas store a few doors down, As I get older, my Happy Hour is called a NAP. Since we're on the topic of sleep, we had a Deluxe two Queen room on the 5 th floor. Subconsciously I think I had hoped to be on the 9 th or 10th floor or close to room 303 where it is said to be haunted by Mr. Harvey Parker, The ghost guy as called by our table server in Parker's Restaurant. Back to sleep, our Queen sized beds were super comfy and came with 5 pillows each. They both faced a large screen tv. Love the fragrance of the shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body balm. So many towels, lovely- white in mint condition. Francine at Reception and DeeJay, concierge were exceptional. We found the Hydration Station on the 8th floor and made our own ice coffee. Sensor ice machine and you can find creamer and sweeteners plus cups in the drawers below. Elegant to the max, the lobby is stunning especially the ornate elevator doors. You need a room card to operate. Everything is first class with Door Men. Two entrances, main one on School Street has stairs. You can walk up and around the corner to your left to enter from a different door without stairs. I was fortunate to have a slice of their famous Boston Crème Pie(actually a cake as noted by our Duck Tour narrator, Ben.) Chocolate script Happy Birthday was written on the plate delivered to our room. Very fancy and pretty. The only downfall was our room window faced a perhaps office building and several office cubicles looked into our room. One in particular the hard working gentleman stayed at his desk 12+ hours so we had to keep our shades drawn. No other view from that room. Despite that, 6 spacious drawers for your belongings, a nice closet with hangers and two robes. I used one as a nap cover blanket cuz the room gets very cold. The porter put our AC on 69 degrees. Only once I was able to access heat setting. The room also comes with an ice bucket, coffee maker, desk and mini fridge. Between our two beds was an alarm clock, an adjustable lamp for brightness and both a portable luggage stand and a sturdy luggage piece of furniture. The location is across the street of King's Chapel housing Ruth Chris. Each day we followed the Freedom Trail red brick path either to or from Quincy Market after a Lyft ride first. Our hotel was also one of the pick up points for a Martha's Vineyard 12 hour tour. Big tip: look no further for the BEST clam chowder I had during our stay here. We also redeemed a coupon for a complimentary beverage from the Last Hurrah adjoining the hotel. Okay I'll stop here going on and on about this historic hotel. I think you can tell I enjoyed our time here in the lap of luxury. read more

The mixed reviews after their remodel had me worried but rest assured-- this place is absolutely great. Room is smaller but it's not ridiculously cramped. The barn door is slightly annoying but you can still manage. Beds are on the softer side but still very comfortable. The common hallway and the lobby are clean and well maintained. The staff is amazing and so attentive. We got water bottles on arrival and check out. They have kid activity bags. The doormen are kind. Overall centrally located and a gem. We decided to stay for one night as we were going to show within walking distance at the Opera House. The hotel has a beautiful and spacious lobby. Check-in was very smooth and we were provided a bottle of water each. We were also told that we had 1 drink at the bar or we could exchange for a drink at Starbucks nearby. When we asked if we were both getting 1 drink voucher, we were informed that it was 1 drink voucher per room. The other party we were joining were given 1 drink voucher each. That would make more sense to me but there was not convincing the front receptionist of that. When we entered our room we were met with a blast of hot air as the heat was set up to 78 in the room. We decided to adjust the temperature to cool the room utilizing the PTAC unit. We then got to hear loud noises coming from the unit anytime the fan turned on. That went on day and night so our choice was to be overheated or hear a blasting noise every so often at unexpected times. Our room was very small and had a queen bed. This was described as a deluxe room on our reservation but I think we were provided a traditional room instead. We had a keurig machine and things to make coffee in the morning if we had chosen to. Bathroom was super small and had a barn door. I almost felt like we were squeezed into a corner or closet while staying at this hotel. I am glad we were only staying one night here. We parked overnight nearby utilizing the ParkHero app for $23. Valet parking is available for $70 if you choose to do so. The best things about this hotel was the location and a very warm room on a very chilly night in Boston. read more

The Scarlet Vetter says....our organization utilized this hotel as our home base for a two day conference. It is regal and elegant. From the beautiful lobby to their well appointed rooms, you cannot go wrong booking a stay here. The room amenities are generally excellent with black out, light blocking curtains, small refrigerator, room safe. Full sized shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion are provided that all smell fabulous and are not bolted down so you can move them as needed. Tips, cotton balls etc. are provided. There is coffee and tea service in the room as well. Beds were comfortable, pillows were perfect. You can control the room's temperature. There is a large screen wall TV with remote, a desk for work with plenty of electrical outlets and USB ports (large and small) and free WiFi. There are also electrical outlets and USB ports by the bed. There is laundry and dry cleaning service and room service is available (expected, really). The room service QR code was not intuitive, however. I have included a listing of ammenities and nearby attractions in the pictures. There are on site restaurants if you do not feel like exploring the city. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The only reason I could not give this hotel five stars was because of the itsy bitsy teeny weeny bathroom that was awkwardly set up. No tub. Just a shower. No place to put your toiletries. To get close to the mirror you have to lean way over a long rectangle sink or the toilet...not optimal for women generally and terrible for anyone whose sight without glasses is poor. On the plus side, there were plenty of towels!!!! I would stay here again, but next time I would see if any rooms have better/larger bathrooms! read more

Dating back to the mid 1800's, the oldest continuously operated hotel in the US is conveniently located in downtown Boston within walking distance of all major attractions. The rooms are nicely appointed, if small, but the service here is always on point. Of course, you'll have to have lunch here as the restaurant has been a haunt of countless US Presidents and dignitaries -- and is the birthplace of the eponymous Parker House Roll and Boston Cream Pie. For just shy of $400 for one night I had higher expectations for this place. Pros: it's right off of the Freedom Trail right next to one of the old churches, the statue of Ben Franklin, and the new slavery statue (outside the church). The check-in staff were kind. It was walking distance to theater area--we were in town for the MFM show. The lobby was gorgeous; rooms appeared to be recently renovated. Cons: one weird thing about the recently renovated rooms--the designer thought it would be a good idea to use barn doors for the bathrooms, which is awkward when you're sharing w a friend vs. a partner/spouse, as the door doesn't fully overlap to a close, so you can hear all the sounds and smell all the business, as there are also no bathroom fans?! Had a room w two queen beds; beds were smaller than standard queen size, more like a full size bed, and mattress was very mushy. At 4:45p the pub-y/most casual of the restaurants was full as a whole wedding party was there. Unfortunately the other restaurant in the hotel wasn't taking anyone in at that time (not sure of hours). Inconvenient. Also, the pub staff were rude. Later that night we decided to try the famous Boston Cream Pie (allegedly created in this very hotel, along w the Parker House Rolls). For two pieces of Boston cream pie and I guess the room service charge it was nearly $40! And the cake was dry to boot. Beautiful building, very historic, but don't need to go back. I'd suggest one of the cheaper chains nearby--that w the cost of two Ubers would have been significantly less than our night here. read more

I stayed here over the thanksgiving holiday and overall, it was a nice hotel. My biggest complaint was that there was no microwave or fridge in the room, only to find out that these were available upon request! We ate out a lot and had tons of leftovers, desserts, etc. that we pretty much tossed because we didn't have a fridge in the room. The hotel is beautiful and the staff we all encountered were super friendly. The Boston cream pie that they have available for $12 was OK. I expected more. I like how we received drink coupons at check in for the last hurray bar inside the hotel. That was a nice touch. The beds and the pillows were probably the softest and most comfortable I've had in a long time. I slept so well! The water pressure from the shower felt like it was from 1855 though. LOL. Horrible! The location of the hotel is great. Near a lot of sight-seeing spots, things to do and restaurants. Recommend if you want an old historic hotel vs. a modern new place. read more

Omni Parker House Although I was not in Boston for a joyous occasion, the staff here were superb. From the valet like Jorge and Irving; to the bartender, Ryan, the hostess, at the Last Hurrah; the hostess at Parker house and the everyone at the front desk! The room was very clean and they even brought up a microwave for me. You get a couple of bottles of water as well. There's also a Jen on the lower level, and it has a Peloton! Also, the location is very central to the City Hall in old town, so you get a little bit of history while you're in Boston. The bonus was the fact that the hotel itself holds so much history. I've stayed here at least a dozen times, and the remodel was long overdue and was partially successful at breathing some new life into what had been a very dated hotel. Modern looking bedrooms and bathrooms, and no longer feels like 19th Century must and mildew. BUT, and sadly there are some buts... one minor and one not-stying-here-again major: minor: no towel hanging *anything* so you're hanging your towels on the corner of the shower door, the corner of the closet door, the bathroom door handle, etc., so the clean new lines look like a wreck at first actual use. Also things fall on the floor as soon as you move said door or doors, so that's comically poor. major: there's been some *serious* screw-up with the plumbing. My room stinks of sewage which comes and goes with what I guess is the use of adjacent rooms. They flush, I get to breathe it. I ended up closing the bathroom door, running the heater which is the only way to get a fan running, to generate positive pressure and force some of the stink out the exhaust vent, since there's no fan in the actual exhaust vent to pull air out. I also stoppered the sink, plugged the overflow drain with a wad of tissues and covered the shower drain with a wet towel. This has been the case for 3 days now, so not some one-off weird happening. This is a persistent flaw. I'd prefer the 19th century must and mildew scent to this, sadly. read more

Staying true to the hotel's reputation, we had an epically chilling encounter in one of the elevators... so unsettling that I decided to leave the moment the doors opened. Words don't do it justice. But, after the top 2 brands were discontinued (crying), and 2 from the bakery at different stores ended up in the trash, it's been 2 years since I've had one. So, for my 64th birthday yesterday, I decided to try, THE ORIGINAL BOSTON CREAM PIE. But, since driving to Boston was out of the question, I used Goldbelly (separate review in New York, NY) delivery service (5 Stars). While the top isn't as pretty as their picture (due to being upside down for some time), it's pretty close. Topping and Filling: Both were out of this world scrumptiolishous! Though, imo, there should be more filling. Cake: It was quite firm (not sure it was normal, or due to minimal thawing out time before eating (if it changes, I will update the review). Shaved Almond Coating: While I love almonds and chocolate, personally, I didn't care much for it here. And, I think, I'd prefer a "naked" cake, with topping/frosting dripping down the side. So, between not enough filling, and the shaved Almonds, it was enough to not give it 5 Stars. Definitely a delicious dessert. And, well worth the $99.95 (tax + shipping included). I'll probably reorder it. But, there's another company in Boston that has the BCP that I'll try first. read more

We stayed at the Omni Parker House in Boston several years ago, prior to their renovations. We looked forward to staying there again, we were disappointed. It appears that Parker House converted two of their old rooms into three rooms. The rooms are very small. There are not enough drawers to unpack your suitcases. One three drawer dresser and two very small bedside tables with one drawer. A positive is that the Parker House is centrally located. Will we stay there again is up for discussion. If I could give a rating of 2.5 I would do so. We are disappointed in the size of the hotel rooms, worse than a Holiday Inn. read more

Thin walls. You can hear your neighbor on the phone. Quiet HVAC that offers no white noise. Located downtown so the traffic is loud. Sometimes loud enough to drown out the sound of your neighbor on the phone. But the lobby is very historic and ornate. The bar is cool. Lots of interesting cocktails to try out. The food menu is very limited. Pub grub, basically. The gym is well equipped, which is a nice perk and saves this from being a 2 star review. read more

Overall our stay at the Omni was excellent, with a few drawbacks. Pros: - Excellent location. Right down the street from the Boston Common and the start of the freedom trail, and a 2-3 minute walk from both the red line T Station at Park Street and the blue line at Govt Center. - Lots of bars, restaurants, shopping within walking distance. - Beautiful historic hotel, with excellent service. Bottled water offered at check in, along with coupons for a free drink (either beer/wine at the bar, or coffee at the coffeeshop in the morning - and the free coffee includes lattes, etc not just black coffee). - Beautiful room (they upgraded us to a suite). Large, nicely furnished, spotlessly clean, and an incredibly comfortable bed. Plenty of outlets everywhere to charge electronics. - We were on the 8th floor, and could not hear any street noise at all, despite being in the middle of downtown. - Overall we loved our stay. Often older hotels can have a lot of problems (dirty, not enough elevators, etc) but this hotel has been incredibly thoughtfully remodeled and you get the beauty and charm of a historic hotel with all the modern comforts and amenities. Cons: - The bathroom door has a sliding barn door, so it doesn't securely close, and therefore doesn't block all light and sound. - The bathroom light is on a motion sensor and goes on when you walk in the room, which I think is a horrible design in a hotel. This causes two issues. One, if you get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, the light goes on before you can close the door, which wakes up your partner. And two, it doesn't detect motion in the shower, so the light turned itself off while I was taking a shower at night, leaving the bathroom in complete darkness. I had to carefully step out of the shower in the dark and wave my arms to turn the light back on. Other than the issues with the bathroom, we loved our stay at the Omni, and would definitely stay there again. read more

Since we can only give whole stars I gave 2 but I'd really rate this somewhere in the 2.5 range. I'll start with the pros: the staff were very friendly and the location cannot be beat. The hotel has a lot of history and it's a very nice lobby and first impression when you walk in. It stops there, however. Let's get to the actual room. The hotel underwent a renovation and to be honest, whoever designed it, should find a new profession. Let's talk about the bathroom to start: nobody, and I mean NOBODY wants a barn door for a bathroom door. The track for this door starts a good inch from the threshold. It lets sight, sound, and smell out. This should be criminal. Also the bathroom light (the full on light) is on a sensor and since the barn door blocks nothing out, when you use the restroom at night the entire room is lit up. The shower door doesn't meet the wall causing it to leak on the floor if you don't point the shower head towards the wall. There are ZERO hooks in the bathroom to hang used towels, only one towel bar and the sink seems to be set sideways? And is so long it's hard to reach the water when using it. The actual room we had, had two queen beds. I'm 90% sure these were full beds, not queen. They felt very very small. The AC was SO loud and during the day it didn't get below 71 degrees. That appears to be by design as it would start consistently running in the evening but wouldn't get down to the 66 we set it at. Also since we had an extra bed I guess that meant we lost other amenities? Because while our friends had a coffee maker and fridge, we had neither. Also, the Boston cream pie was meh. There was barely any cream? It was very dry. read more

We opted for the room with a double bed, which was about 250 ft.², so not the smallest room, but something within our price range. The room was so small and claustrophobic feeling, as there was no view outside the windows, on the 10th floor. Our walk from the elevator was ridiculously long, often confusing at times. The hotel hallways were SO hot, although the AC in the room was great. The best part about this hotel is the staff. From the Bellman to the person checking us in, they were incredibly friendly and even remembered our names from earlier in the day. The "Deluxe Double Room" was the tiniest hotel room I have ever stayed in. Two queen beds and a tiny desk with one uncomfortable char. The view out the window was into a office across the alley with people looking back. The bathroom was also tiny you hardly sit on the commode without bumping up against the mini vanity. The shower was a tub with a shower curtain. Two people barley fit in the room. I know Hotels in Downtown Boston are expensive but very little value with this one. read more

I love a venerable historic hotel. This majestic place captured my heart from the lobby entrance. I was here for an academic conference, the conference meeting rooms and other facilities for the meeting were very good. Great comfortable room, the service is five star. The restaurants are overpriced but the service and food quality are extremely high. I didn't care much for the original Boston cream pie, but that's just personal taste. It was a good experience to try the original. Good location, easy walking distance to all sorts of American Colonial era history as well as three different good lobster roll places. Maybe more, three was what I had time for. Considering how classy the place is, the room price was reasonable. read more
