This is a great spot to get some healthy food. You order like you would for a poke bowl. There are layers of different things. For the base you can order types of rice or noodles etc. They even have kimchi fried rice. I get white or brown rice. The brown rice seems to be undercooked. Then there is protein. I've tried the salmon, marinated pork and grilled chicken. They are all good, but the grilled chicken is a bit dry. Then they add roasted veggies, I always get mudrooms and broccoli. Also toppings, I get seaweed, tomatoes, carrots and radish, cucumbers and sesame seeds. Then with the sauce I love the Nori sauce!!! So this is a good healthy alternative which is affordable. This is definitely a healthy option. This location just opened last week and finally got to try it. The restaurant itself was clean! The staff was super friendly and welcoming. They are more than willing to give you samples! Their menu consist of the classic bowls/plates, but you also have the choise to "make your own" so you can have a balanced meal, super healthy meal or as you wish. I got the strawberry lemonade and beef bowl. I cant remember the exact name. Anyhow, it was good, for my preference next time I would choose less veggies, but if you are really into eating healthy, then its perfect for you. I came here for the first time today. It was 11am, not crowded. I was bummed that kimchi wasn't a topping but they had kimchi flavored rice, which I had to pay extra for. My "make your own bowl" included kimchi rice, spicy pork, corn, broccoli, zucchini, Brussel sprouts, pickled onions, cucumber and cilantro topped with peanut sauce, hot sauce (which was a sesame oil base, very tasty), cilantro sauce, sesame seeds and crispy shallots. All in all, this place was pretty fresh and yummy. The pork was a tad dry and didn't seem as fresh. It's a hidden gem! Just look for the Dollar Tree store in the large outdoor mall and to the left of it, it's nestled between Steak & Shake and Jersey Mike's. It's another one of those build-your-bowl but not poke or Mexican which seem to be popping up everywhere. It was nice to start with half and half kimchi fried rice and buckwheat noodles as my base. The girl who helped me cheerfully gave me a few samples of the meat (chicken and bulgogi) to taste. The bulgogi was familiarly sweet, but the one thing I wasn't given a sample of was the pork shrimp meatball, so I went for it. I ordered it as my meat layer and added the roasted Brussels sprouts, sweet potatoes, Vietnamese(?) pickled radishes, cucumbers and requested the cilantro sauce on the side. The kimchi fried rice had the fermented, umami flavor I expected. The pork shrimp meatballs were phenomenal! The roasted Brussels sprouts and sweet potatoes offerings, as well as rice and buckwheat noodles which are gluten-free is genius. I would absolutely come back for this bowl. It was excellent, far exceeded my expectations. So, this is basically healthy American with a few Asian influences which is perfectly fine with me. I love that the ingredients are fresh and their vegetable choices are unique because they are different from other places. For example, I got to choose their sweet potatoes as my vegetable option. I love this place. I come here a lot for lunch because I work in the area. It's cheap, quick, tasty, and a ton of food that's fairly healthy. The concept is similar to Chipotle, but the food is Asian. You make your way down the line, picking a base, a protein, and then the toppings you want. For base, they have salad, white rice, brown rice, kimchi rice (little extra cost), and buckwheat noodles. You can also do half and half if you want. For proteins they have a lot of selections, including chicken, beef, pork, meatballs, and salmon. Next you get to pick which veggies you want. They have brussel sprouts, sweet potato, and zucchini. You can get one, two, or all three of them. Then you pick what toppings you want, including carrots, daikon radish, pickled red onions, corn, broccoli, cucumber, kale, etc. Last you pick a sauce, and they have about 6 different choices. I always get the BBQ sauce which is delicious. The amount of food you get for the price is great. Even when I'm starving I can never finish a whole bowl, and it's enough for two meals if I'm not that hungry. I had been told prior to visiting by a couple of co workers that the bowls here were great. Now that I've tried them I have to agree. For the most part ON + ON uses the "build your own" concept like many restaurants before it. You choose your base, your protein or proteins, vegetables, toppings, etc. What makes it standout from others are the types of base and the awesome veggie selections. For my base I chose fried kimchi rice, grilled chicken for the protein, roasted brussels sprouts & kimchi for the main vegetable, other veggies for toppings, and creamy cilantro for the sauce. I came close to choosing the shrimp & pork meatballs but went with the grilled chicken for a first visit. I didn't mention this earlier but the food lean towards Asian fusion but on the healthier side. The rice had a nice kick to it and provided a savory but tart flavor due to the kimchi. A taste I've come to enjoy from kimchi. The brussels added a smoked flavor to the dish. To my surprise the grilled chicken was pretty well seasoned. I'm use to most bowl places relying heavily on the chard broiled flavor from the grill with a few dabs of salt unless the chicken is drenched in a sauce, so kudos for that. Last the creamy cilantro sauce and fried shallots enhanced the flavors of all that occupied the bowl. There's not many On +On's around but I'm hoping to see more pop up. Yes, it's the Chipotle or Subway of Asian fusion bowls. My recommendations? 1/2 salad & 1/2 buckwheat noodle base. Salmon is the only thing I've tried so go for it if your into fish. All toppings go into my bowl because that's how I roll. Yep, I eat the entire thing in one sitting like a gluttonous pig. Fresh and hits the spot. I enjoyed both the pork and beef and would try the meatballs or salmon next time. Toppings were very fresh and tasty, loved the pickled veggies as toppings as well as their cilantro and bbq sauce. Highly disappointed and it just shows that the vegetables were not washed properly (10/9/17) Tried this place for the first time after much curiosity. I was definitely impressed. I like the concept of the restaurant and the taste was amazing! I built my own bowl with the buckwheat noodles, which are served cold, and paired with the bbq beef with the Brussels sprouts and kimchi. Toppings included picked carrots and radish, pickled red onion, cucumber, kale, tomato and cilantro. I opted for the creamy cilantro sauce and had it garnished with fried shallots. Incredible!!! So I've been to this location multiple times. It's rarely close to my house and when I used to go to the gym in the same plaza I would go at least once a week. Over the last few months the customer service and the food have both become overwhelmingly BAD! Today I had one question and the guy that was supposed to be helping Alejandro J was very rude and told me just to read the screens.
