    Stewed Pancakes

My friend and I really enjoyed our time at On Orange. The gentlemen who I believe might have been the owner or manager was really helpful with explaining the menu and letting us know about popular dishes. We ordered the Swedish pancakes which came with stewed apples. They were really unique and tasty. We also split the baked oatmeal which came with milk to pour on it. It was served nice and hot and the contrast of the cold milk was great. Whenever I come back to Lancaster I would definitely return!

Our large group stopped in here before we were heading to the airport on a Sunday around 9am. They sat the 7 of us quickly and we loved the ambiance! Super cozy and homey. We ordered a variety of things on the menu and it was all delicious. We particularly loved the pancakes but be warned the stack of 3 Swedish oat pancakes could have fed all 7 of us easily!!! Unless you're the hungriest person alive, 1 pp is PLENTY. Eggs and omelette were cooked great, everything was well seasoned. Great seeded breads and the bacon and crisp and delicious. The fresh squeezed orange juice is a must!

Was in town for a wedding Came across this little gem in the wall Food was amazing I had a western omelette and my sister the specialty omelette, Greek inspired. I didn't have coffee but my sister did She said it was nice and strong The place is nicely decorated - has a lot of character And it's clean Staff is friendly Not overly priced and I felt they serve just the right amount of food The fresh bread was delicious

This is a great little cafe. It has a lot of character and charm. The seating on the lower level is cozy. The coffee is strong and good. The food and service was excellent. We especially LOVED their toast-- the multigrain bread is a good enough reason to go!

Swedish pancake w/stewed apples, Florentine omelette w/roasted tomatoes and 7 grain bread

This place is consistently EXCELLENT. The food, the service, the friendly, cozy environment--all A+ . It's changed hands over the years but the high level of care in every aspect has stayed the same. I've been dining here for decades and it's still one of my favorite breakfast nooks in Lancaster. You won't be disappointed here. Tip: whatever menu item you get, be sure a Swedish pancake (or 2 or 3!) is ordered too. They're made with oats and my favorite thing there.

Indian omelette is super spicy and super delightful

Whether you're looking for a breakfast that's more traditional or one with a little twist, On Orange has got you covered. The food and service are top notch at a terrifically affordable price point. I loved the basement level dining area--I sat in a small cubby with its own chandelier (lone diner). Lovely outdoor dining space is through the basement area, too.

Wonderful breakfast! The patio is beautiful, and this is coming from someone who doesn't normally like patio seating.

When we were seated, we were given the prix fixe food menu but never provided with a drink menu. We were served water, but our waitress didn't ask if we'd like cocktails, wine, or any featured Valentine's drinks. For a special occasion dinner, that felt like a major oversight. The bigger issue, though, was the food. Several courses were noticeably undercooked and difficult to enjoy. The carrot salad had hard, undercooked carrots and a very bitter sauce that overwhelmed the dish. The grilled Badger Flame beets were also undercooked and had an unpleasant flavor. The beet risotto was firm and lacked the creamy consistency you expect from a properly prepared risotto. The halibut tasted overly fishy and seemed undercooked in the center. For $75 per person on Valentine's Day, we expected a polished, thoughtfully executed experience. Instead, the meal felt poorly prepared and not worth the price. It was an unsatisfying way to spend what should have been a special evening. The ambiance was very nice but the rest of the experience left a lot to be desired.

But awesome all the same! For how busy they were, the server was very attentive and very accommodating as we were yapping away and constantly not ready with our orders so kuddos for the team and putting up with us! I love the mystery beer concept, its not great beer, but being from DC at like $2 a can, I am not passing that up, ever. And a cheap beer with a burger is the perfect combo! On to the burger... I have heard that this is a great burger... and I have to conclude that I agree though it is reminiscent of a Big Mac - just way better ingredients - it has to be the sauce they put on it... Anyway, nice size patty, good amount of toppings and a quality bun (not too soft, not too thick, bread soaks up some of the juices but doesn't fall apart). The mussels were quite excellent as well. It was a Thai curry broth the night we were there and it was drinkable, like soup... we did ask for extra bread... enough said. I am going to take a minute too and praise their spirit free cocktails. THIS IS HOW THEY SHOULD BE MADE. They used bitters, tonics, etc to craft something that tasted like a cocktail but without alcohol which means they were not sickly sugary concoctions, but expertly crafted beverages. Just really great options. All that said though, their espresso martini was one of the worst I have had. Just skip that.

I visited as part of a work related event and was able to enjoy both the bar and dining room. The bar selections were first-rate and while not extensive they were well-considered. Our party of 4 ordered 3 appetizers: the cheese board, the short rib eggrolls, and the New England clam chowder. The clam chowder had wonderful flavors, but did seem to be lacking in actual clam meat. The PA Preferred cheese board was a nice selection of soft and hard cheeses and paired nicely with the honey, fruit and bread. The egg rolls were excellent and I would have loved to have had an entree that was based around the short rib as it was that good! I ordered the grilled NY strip as my entree. The dauphine potatoes were wonderful with a crisp top and gooey interior. My steak, however, was a bit disappointing. It was cooked to the requested medium-rare temperature but did not have much flavor on it's own. The bordelaise sauce was very good and had a nice acid balance. The steak was just not seasoned as well as you'd hope. There was also a lot of sinew that was difficult to work around. My husband ordered the scallops on special that evening. The scallops were cooked to a perfect level, but the rice had bits that were hard & undercooked. I was expecting top-level food as the head chef/owner served not one, but three US Presidents. The cocktails and wine selection were a high point. We had a regular old fashioned and a blackberry margarita that were absolutely divine!
