I made a trip to this location about 3 years back thinking that this is the only option that was viable for dim sum in SCV. When I got there it was less dim sum and more about Taiwanese dumplings. I guess people in the SCV don't know the difference. Dumplings were supremely overpriced and if you wanted an actual shumai, a dim sum item it was severely overpriced compared to a decent location in the valley. If you're looking for dim sum you're better off just going to the valley. If you're looking for some overpriced Taiwanese, feel free to come here. read more

One Bite Dumpling certainly won't feel out of place if it was in the middle. Of San Gabriel Valley, with its authentic dumplings like Pork Xiao Long Bao. We ordered those as well as BBQ Pork Buns, Pan Friend Pork Buns, Sautéed String Beans with Garlic, and Singapore style Vermicelli. Starting with the Xiao Long Bao, this quintessential soup dumpling comes with piping hot soup and savory pork that is delicious and pairs well with chili oil. You get 8 bite-size deliciousness. The Pan-fried Pork is definitely my favorite out of what we ordered. There is that great blend of crispness, slight char, and delicious savory filling. And I can't get enough of the chili oil for this, too! The sautéed string beans compliment the dumplings very well and if you're not getting rice or noodles, it's perfect. The Singapore style vermicelli is probably the one that least excite us, as it is fairly one note. It is still good, but not compared to the rest of the order. The handmade veggie dumplings and the bao samplers were great, as was the surprisingly flavorful bok choy. Sticky rice is yummy! We ordered the egg drop soup both times and we're impressed with the quality...they use fresh peas I think! If I lived closer (I'm about 25 mukes away), I would be over there every few days until I I've tasted it all! Going with 3-4 others is a good idea so you can share more variety. The food- amazing, delicious, authentic, and savory. Beef stew soup, XLB, fried rice, cucumber salad, noodles are all yummy. The service- great people but they are often not staffed correctly. The last 3 times we have tried to eat here (or order take out) the wait was double or triple what we were quoted. With that being said, the food is bomb, just don't go during rush hour (aka dinner time) unless you are prepared to wait much longer than you are originally quoted. Who would think there would be a great dumpling place in Newhall! It's located a few minutes away from William Hart Park, in a small strip mall. The food here is actually really good, which makes this experience even more disappointing. I came in to pick up a to-go order and told the worker (headband girl) at the counter my name. She briefly looked around and said it would be right up, so I sat down next to another customer who was clearly waiting as well. A few moments later, the younger girl who wears a headband called out asking if the order was under a different name, but she was standing a good distance away. I have bad eyesight, so I honestly wasn't sure if she was talking to me or the person next to me and said, "Who, me?" Instead of clarifying, she repeated herself and then said, "I'm looking right at you," in front of other customers. That was embarrassing and came across as very rude. I explained that my eyesight isn't great, but she didn't acknowledge that at all and just asked again if the order was under a different name. This whole situation could have been avoided if she had just checked the pickup orders in the first place. Decent food Near my town Ruined by Horrible Staffs, Friday night, I and my friend decided to check out authentic chinese dumpling place in my town vs going to San Gabriel Valley, It's a small suburban area and usually nothing happens around that time. Only was to order food was to scan the QR code and order online, however when I pressed order it will hang few minutes and won't go though. I had 4 bars on my cell signal. I asked the blond Asian lady, that the orders doesn't go through, she pointed to wifi username and password on the counter. I did know it was an internet issues because I had good cell signal. Again I asked is there anyway I can order in person, she said No, I tried and tried and the order didn't go, so there was a latina lady at the counter, I asked, Can I order with you, online thing doesn't work. She said ok. I placed 6 plates, mostly pork and shrimps. I don't eat chicken, Later the blond lady literally dropped the first plate on my table, and there's a chicken dumpling! I said Miss Miss Miss and until she walked away, ignoring me because I said louder. The latina lady who took order came to me said that according to the receipt you ordered chicken dimpling and I am being rude yelling at the staff. I honestly do not understand the great reviews. The pork and cabbage potstickers had almost no flavor. The sauce tasted like dark brown vinegar (not even vinegar mixed with soy). The vegetable spring rolls literally had no flavor. The menu said the edamame had sea salt - there was not any salt on them. The cucumbers are wilted and gross looking. The best thing we had was the oddly bright yellow cream cheese wontons but I am leery about eating them since they look like they were dipped in yellow food coloring. Finally, we do not have to drive too far to get some good dumplings. Still quite a drive but I'll say it was worth the stop. Had some shrimp har gow and and shao mai which we paired with some shrimp fried rice! It was so good! The dumplings were freshly made and were definitely tasty.
