I've ordered from this place four times in the past year, and not once has an order been ready on time. Not five minutes late--consistently 10-15 minutes, minimum. Today (New Year's Eve) was the last straw. I placed a very simple order at 5:00 PM, fully expecting a delay due to the holiday. The app said it would be ready at 6:15. I arrived at 6:15 and was told it would be another hour. A 2 hour and 15 minute wait for a simple takeaway order is unacceptable in any scenario. Their xiao long bao aka soup dumplings were not good this time around. The flavor was just not there and not enough soup. The steamed bbq pork buns were also not good the dough was sticky and weird. Should be soft and crumbly. The worst was the overpriced xiu mai they were so small, tasted weird and bounced like rubber balls plus looked undercooked. The fried tofu did not look nor tasted fresh. We ended up skipping the rice since we had the bun. The fried bun was crispy on the outside but didn't taste oily. The house special cucumber was a nice side dish to complement everything. I thought from the outside it would be fancier than it is. The inside is surprising bright and gives cafeteria vibes. However, the gentleman who was my waiter the night was very accommodating and honest. There were things I had questions about and he was honest with his opinion. I appreciated that. We had these shrimp filled , dumpling. All it was was a sticky clear wrap around a piece of shrimp. And it's shaped like a pretty sea shell. I personally didn't like the sticky /texture of the outside. Then we had bbq beef buns. Again, the texture of the bun.. it was fluffy but it reminded me of partially cooked dough which the thought turned me off. There's not a lot of filing in them either. Maybe if there was more filling less bread it would be ok. The flavors in the bbq very subtle. Then we ordered a bowl of beef soup with noodles. We wanted to try the numbing soup but they didn't have the soup with shrimp without the spicy (you can add the chili sauce instead of them making it burn for you if you order the normal version). I didn't care for it. The noodles thick as heck and the soup flavor wasn't clean and refreshing. I prefer the 1.50 Hot & Spicy noodles from the grocery store. That's good soup! They did provide big chunks of beef. It could completely be my palate and I just didn't care for the flavors but also the name of the place I expected a variety of soup dumplings. Food was good not great but good, my favorite were the dim sum however the shrimp and pork shao mai is on the smaller side. I figure the restaurants name says it all, "one bite dumplings " meaning bite size dim sum? Ahaha that's just my take on the dim sum they were all bite size. I'd say this is a pretty good place for a drop in for dim sum if you don't want to travel to Alhambra and surrounding area for dim sum. Although the food is good I am giving this place one star because of the cocky attitude of the manager. The service is terrible especially if you ask them to make slight changes to certain items. I always ask for spicy shrimp chow mien but today for some reason she refused to accommodate my request. The food came out cold! I asked what drinks they had and she said "everything is down there" pointing to the iPad. I initially began placing my order on the iPad but she stopped me and asked me to verbally tell her what I wanted. In order to tell her I had to check the menu on the iPad and that irritated her. This time my son and I ordered the Spicy Beef Xiao Long Bao since they are new on the menu. The beef had a really bad sour taste. Almost like it was old. I brought it the the waitresses attention and asked if we could get the original Xiao Long Bao since the ones we received had a sour taste and she stated no because we had already eaten one of them. I explained to her how would we know they were bad if we didn't try them. She said she would talk with the manager but she never came back to our table. I'm sorry but that is very unprofessional and not the way you treat your frequent customers. We will not be returning here and not recommending one bite due to the way they handled this situation. It was a simple fix and they chose to handle it poorly. The meat was bad and they didn't care to come talk with us and fix it. Shame on you one bite. My mom and I went to this place near where I live in Los Angeles County. She has tried this place before. It is like a dim sum Chinese food type of place. We tried the dumplings and their famous pork shu Mai. I thought it was okay, but the restaurant praises it. We also ordered the vegetable dumpling. It was better and tasted awesome. There were customers to the right and left of us, and they ordered the pot sticker and some soup in a bowl that smelled amazing. I should have ordered it but didn't. The food didn't quite fill me up, and it was about 30$ which us way more expensive than dim sum in LA for the quantity. We got about 18 total dumplings. They also serve Chinese food as well, but we didn't order it. It looks like Panda Express from the pictures online. The interior is quaint and has a narrow seating area. The service was average to be honest. They didn't seem happy at their job. We did however, arrive at about 2:45 PM and they close at 3 PM. It could have caused an annoyance. But we left at around 3:05 PM. The other customers were still there so that's kind of a problem I believe from the employees. They reopen at night for dinner around 6 PM. After we ate, we went to church. The price and quality were decent. I enjoyed the filling, warmth and comfort of delicious dumplings. It was a tad salty but I washed it down with the tap water. Overall, as with many of these dim sum restaurants, this one was decent, but I have had better value elsewhere, although the quality was really good. I might be back. read more

I found this little dumpling spot after my massage right next door. It was busy and it has great reviews so I decided to give it a try. They offer a good variety of dumplings and cooked dishes plus some dim sum here. I asked the owner (I presume the Asian younger guy at the counter was the owner) what the best dumpling to try and he said the pork soup dumplings. I was by myself and not very hungry so I couldn't order a ton of food. I ordered the pork soup dumplings to try. The order comes with 8 pieces for $12.99. All the soup dumplings are made fresh to order in front of you to watch. They came out fresh and piping hot in about 10 minutes. They were filled with the delicious pork soup! The skin was thin but not the thinnest soup dumpling skin I've had. Overall they were good. I also asked for some fresh ginger too. They offer free soy sauce, vinegar and chili sauce at the table but you need to ask for the ginger if you want it. They didn't charge for it. I was looking at the other tables food as the orders came and everything looks good. Portion sizes were good for sharing too. Overall a great spot for dumplings!
