The Mac and Cheese was good. The Lima beans were mush. The slaw was overly sweet. The brisket was almost uneatable, WAY TOO MUCH FAT. The price for pickup was a Gun barrel to your ribs, price. This place is great. The bbq, the brisket, the okra, the drinks. We love it so much we ate here twice. They have expanded in 2 buildings. If you like margaritas, the bartender at the bar that used to be the lodge is great. If you like philly cheese steak sandwich, try the Texas philly. It is brisket and very tasty. I had been wanting to come here since I saw Orchid on Food Network Star while watching . We were finally able to make it here to try it out. It was well worth the drive (an hour for us). Between the five of us that came we sampled the brisket, chicken, ribs, nachos, and the brisket philly. It was Delicious!! Everything was cooked wonderfully and tasted great. The deviled eggs were "eggstraordinary". The staff was friendly and Caylin A. did a great job serving us. She was kind and friendly. I would say the price was fair for the quality of the food and the service. For four meals, three appetizers and drinks (sodas and tea) and the bill came out to right about $100. I would definitely make the drive out here again and would definitely recommend you try One Hot Mama's!!! read more

So there seems to be a lot of rules for this place. We have been 2 times now and the first time there were only 2 tables occupied and I was waiting for my wife who was on her way. They have a rule that you can't sit down till your whole party is present. There is no place to sit and wait for your table unless you go outside and sit in the heat. A party came in behind me and they were a party of 8. The party had 6 people present and they would not give them a table even though the restaurant was empty. One of the people in the party was elderly with a cane and a leg issue. They asked if they could sit down and they reluctantly gave them their table early. A supervisor told the hostess in front of other guest that next time pull a chair over for the person instead of sitting them at the table. I asked our server about this rule and she stated that's how it's done on the island. I suggested they change that here in Bluffton since most are not tourist and don't want to be treated as such. The second time we went I ordered a bacon cheese burger. Did not see anywhere on the menu that you have to basically build your burger from the ground up. It took over an hour to get our food and it was not that busy. My tea was refilled 3 times before our food arrived and it was barely warm. The burger as you can see came with nothing but a bun, patty, cheese and bacon. No lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle or sauces. In the pic I put the ketchup,mustard and mayo on it after asking for it. Server just said that we did not ask for it and you have to tell us what you want on it. Most places give you this and ask what not to put on it. She never advised or asked what we want on it. So if you go make sure you are very exact on what your ordering. If they keep treating everyone as if they are tourists and figure they won't see them again, this place will not last. read more

As a party of 9. We showed up at 130 in the afternoon and was told it would be over an hour wait. We offered to eat outside at the empty tables and they just told us that we were not allowed as they didn't have a the wait staff to serve us outside. The young girls at the front counter looked like thay had no idea how to handle a party that big. They need to teach these girls how to deal with patties bigger than 4 read more

We've been to the Bluffton location twice. The first time, they were out of everything. We came again this evening, and while they weren't busy and we got seated quickly, the service was still very very slow. We opted to split a meal, and we were informed right up front that there was a split fee for sharing a dinner. When our dinner came, it was all on one plate. My husband got a second plate, but I did not. His order was wrong. If you are charging a split plate charge, you should at least split the plate. The waitress was preoccupied and very rarely came over to our table, in fact I had to flag her down for an additional glass of wine and the bill. I was not impressed with one hot mamas on the island, and I'm even less impressed with the one in Bluffton. read more

Great service! We did takeout but we sat at the bar to wait. Joy & Dominique were very attentive to everyone, we received our takeout order quickly. We were able to watch a few minutes of the football games while waiting. The wings were also delicious! read more

Know before you go... this is a corporate restaurant. I prefer Locally owned, but I've been here a few times. I've had the ribs, and they weren't bad. It came with 2 sides, served in very small cardboard boxes. I prefer to eat my food on a plate and not a take out container. The portions were small, and warm, instead of piping hot. The service was OK, just about what you would expect from a teenager. All in all, I'd skip the trip and try Choo Choo BBQ on May River Road. Locally owned and great BBQ! Happy Eating! read more

While I've enjoyed their food, my thanksgiving order was not okay. They were running behind schedule, they were not social distancing and nobody seemed to wear gloves. When I told someone that I didn't want to wait any longer for my food, she went back into the kitchen saying that my food was ready - I watched her grab a pan with her bare hands to have food put in that pan - this was right after touching the computer, and paper receipts. This lack of hygiene questions any future visits to this place. read more

Definitely don't try the rib tips. They always run out and by the time I order them, they're normally sold out. They get four stars instead of five because they must have a management issue if they are consistently out of rib tips. Seriously, yelp reader, stop ordering them on days I order them. Greasy fried chicken sitting in oil with cold fries. We waited over an hour for our food and I am not impressed with the food or the service. No refills on the iced tea, only the water. The waitress assured us that the food was coming out shortly but it took over and hour. Don't know what would have happened if we ordered appetizers? It would have been a 3 hour event!!! Maybe I will try it again in 6 months but I believe they are overwhelmed in the kitchen at this time. They cannot handle the volume of customers at this time and the food proves it!!! read more

This restaurant is new in Bluffton but has been on HHI for years. We LOVE the One Hot Mamas on the island and were super excited to have one in Bluffton. Unfortunately, they need some work. We've been there 4 times, the first time they did not have a liquor licence yet. The 2nd time was a 45 min wait, at 5:00 on a Tues night. The 3rd time was a Sunday afternoon at 2:00. It was packed and there was a 20 min wait, even though there were many open tables. The service at the bar was slow, and there was only one bartender. The last time was this week, 5:00 on a Tues night. Again it was packed, again only one bartender, again long wait and slow service. The food is still great, and I'm sure the crowds are based on their reputation, but they have got to hire more people, and staff it better. We have so many choices for restaurants in Bluffton, we do not need to wait an hour and still have bad service. I truly hope they get their act together soon. read more
