When I first walked into the place, it smelled like old oil and old everything. It must have been their ventalation was poor. I def. would not be able to stand the smell if I ate in. Took the food home and pigged out. The Pad thai was full of noodles and stuff, they didn't skimp or cheap out on ingredients. The Drunken noodles was super super SPICY!!! Disclaimer: I am not a thai food connoisseur by any means. I haven't eaten much thai food in my life; I usually opt for drunken noodles, curry, thai iced tea, and coconut mango sticky rice. All have been pretty good in my experience. I can list the number of thai places I've been to on my fingers; the best place I've been was Heng in Providence, RI. Uncle Boon's was surprisingly disappointing compared to Heng. When my friend told me that One More Thai was her new favorite thai restaurant, I had to check it out; we ordered the drunken noodles, pineapple fried rice, massaman curry, and the squid in basil sauce (and a lot of green beans) for 4 people. Not only was our meal absolutely delicious and filling, but the service was amazing and we only paid $15 after tax and tip. Dang. I loved everything we got (maybe 4 stars for the squid in basil sauce - the squid was cooked perfectly, but another sauce would've probably been more interesting). The drunken noodles had the perfect hint of heat and was totally addicting. The massaman curry was full of coconut flavor and went down super easily. The pineapple fried rice had a curry kick to it and was ultra tasty. There's a decent amount of meat in all of the dishes. Someone ordered the Thai iced tea and the scent of the tea was intoxicatingly fragrant; I don't remember ever smelling it so strongly. It was a really good one. My friend and I had come from a gelato making class, and the staff was very accommodating about letting us store our gelato in their freezer during our dinner. Even though there was a language barrier, they were unfailingly pleasant and just made it a great experience. I was surprised by how empty it was; it's tough that they're overshadowed by Clinton St. Baking Company's presence next door, but One More Thai is fantastic and satisfying in its own way. Definitely not the best thai food I ever had but I definitely love their lunch specials. I like that it comes with an appetizer and I usually get the shumai. Their shuman is pretty good! Some of the dishes I ordered were: red curry, pad thai, pad see ew, and fried rice. The protein I normally choose is pork and the mock duck. Their pad see ew is different from the way I normally like this dish but I appreciated their version regardless. I like the way that they make their thai tea as well. I am definitely adding a star for the service. The people here are nice and are prompt on simple gestures such as refilling water. I totally appreciate it. Came through for lunch yesterday. Had a chicken pad see ew which was very good and flavorful. They give a good portion for lunch. The lunch special was a great deal and it came with an appetizer. I've been coming here for many years but today I encounter a new employee. She wasn't warm and insisted that I pay before my takeout food arrives. I replied, "I'll wait for the food first so I can check my order" but she wasn't having it. They have messed up my takeout before. So she ran my card and I waited. Food came out too fast and it was in a ripped bag. I just wanted to get out so once I got home, I checked the food and it was missing the regular peanuts, lime and a few other spices in addition to being smushed to one side of the container. If you choose a non-rice or non-noodle entree, your selection will also come with a side of white rice. For the soup/appetizer, I strongly recommend the Tom Kha Gai soup! It is absolutely delicious, and One More Thai will give you a good amount of it as well. For the main dish, you have got to at least try the Panang Curry once if you can handle spicy food. It has a nice atmosphere when you walk in, and the hosts are very nice. I ordered my go-to, Drunken Noodle with chicken, and was not disappointed. If you like spicy, this one's for you. Great lunch menu selection that includes a appetizer and entre that you might have to take home due to the portion of the meal. The service was great and very polite. Today I ordered Drunken Noodle couldn't not eat it because is was ridiculously OVERALL SPICY that it was extremely unbearable to even eat. I hate tossing food out but I had to do so sadly. Just had a party here, for a large group, maybe about 15-17 ppl... and it was GREAT! It's not a huge restaurant so our group took up most of the restaurant. For a spot in the LES, this place had a looot of take out patrons, wow! Plus I noticed reviews calling their takeout "solid" - which is rare because takeouts are usually not the same quality as if you sit in there and eat it on the spot. So thumbs up to that! The prices were also reasonable, so be sure to try to plan a party here if possible. The wait staff were all so friendly and they made a huge effort to plan/organize all the dishes/food to be sent out in an orderly fashion (something not easy to do for smaller restaurants with minimal staffing and yet they delivered, no pun intended haha). The curry dishes were pretty large, to my surprise. But it all looked amazing, very presentable and tasted good. The appetizers were also great for the group.... tried the spring rolls, curry puffs, satays, etc. I had a pad thai as well. Drinks were decent, no bar.. but it was still manageable... but they should have had coconut drinks. hehe. For the price, decor, and service, this place is a great spot. My wife and I were in the neighborhood to attend a play at the nearby C.O.W Theatre and based on YELP recommendations, decided to stop for a quick bite and a drink. I should note that we have eaten in a number of Thai restaurants from South Carolina to New York, but most in New Jersey. The lunch special you get to choose between all the typical famous thai dishes like pad thai, drunken noodles (which I always get), pad sew ew. in chicken, tofu, veg or beef/shrimp/mock duck for $1 extra.
