Honestly if I could give 0 stars I would. The service was absolutely lousy. I came here for my birthday and not only was my dad and sister's food delayed, but they didn't take our drink orders, and when we asked the waitress what's going on, she had a blank stare. We asked for the manager several times, no response. Then they tried to add a service fee, we fight against that, and at least got that off. They didn't even offer to pay for a part of the meal. For solid weeknight pad thai delivery on the Lower East Side, One More Thai does the trick. It's affordable and the portions are enormous -- one order of pad thai, one papaya salad and some spring rolls is more than enough for two people, with enough left over for lunch the next day. So far I've ordered from them twice, and both times the pad thai and papaya salad were solid -- the pad thai is plain and nothing exceptional, but it satisfies, and with a little Sriracha it's just what the doctor ordered. Their papaya salad is similarly standard, although they avoid the soggy tomato issue I've noticed with a lot of delivery thai. The first time we ordered, we got the spring rolls, which were adequate. The second time we went with the thai dumplings, which I would definitely NOT recommend. They were hard and the shrimp was very fishy. I even found a little chunk of cartilage/shrimp shell/I don't want to know inside of one. The moral of the story: stick with the standards and you won't be disappointed. read more

Best Thai food in the neighborhood! This place is so sweetly designed and comfy. But, the greatest thing is the food. Their lunch specials are spot-on. Seemingly, on the menu, the same-'ol same-'ol but they taste soo good. So many options for the complimentary appetizer/soup too (with the lunch special) and they taste great as well. Especially the curry puff, you get 2 with a dipping sauce...free! As opposed to that usual cheap feeling when getting a lunch special of not good quality ingredients, this place really stands out. I got the Pad See-Ew with shrimp and the shrimp was regular size and not over-cooked. Surprisingly, especially for lunch, this not usually how it is at other restaurants. I'd give this place 5 stars if I'd gone there for dinner since that seems more appropriate and they're new so I wanna go back again and again to give 'em a couple of more tests. Ive eaten on location at One More Thai on several occasions. It's pretty good. Today I am reviewing their delivery service. More specifically their angry delivery guy (who I will refer to as ADG from now on) who is the meanest, rudest, dirty-mouth-having-person I've ever had the displeasure of meeting. I made both orders on EAT24.com. The first time ADG delivered to me he cursed me out because he had to walk up to my apartment which is located on the sixth floor. One would make the assumption that if your job title is "delivery guy" at one point on another you will be required to physically exert yourself. Apparently, judging by his hefty size, he doesn't do this often. Anyhow, you know when you're a kid and you're happily building a sand castle then some douche just comes up and stomps it out for no reason? You're all happy and "la, la, la" one second and the next second you're all drained and sad. It's dramatic but that was basically my experience with ADG. He was just so unnecessarily angry. I ended just dismissing the whole thing even though I found his attitude both poisonous and disturbing. The second time I ordered online, I did so knowing that the dreaded Angry Delivery Guy might show up again. I was hungry and really craving Thai so I took the risk. I distinctly remember a feeling of unease just before I clicked the "place order" button. I was just being dramatic right? Anyhow, he could have just had a rough day the first time we met.... On this occasion he let himself into my building without buzzing to let him in as well as alert me of his arrival. Apparently, when he got up the stairs, he knocked on my door but I didn't hear him. My room is on the opposite side of the apartment so its hard to hear knocks but my buzzer is super loud and when someone rings it I leave my room and sit in the kitchen until someone knocks on the door. I had no idea ADG was here until someone from the restaurant called and alerted me of his arrival. This was gonna be bad... When I answered the door he was laid out on the staircase sweating, panting, and looking miserable as usual. He again yelled and cursed at me directly to my face. He then roughly pushed the take-out bag into my hands and proceeded to tell me off some more before lurching back toward the staircase to leave, cursing and grumbling the whole time. I could hear the angry echoes of his voice coming up from the staircase! As I stood there, jaw agape, craddling my take-out, I was left to contemplate this disturbing side of human nature as well as make the tough decision "to eat or not to eat?". Did ADG do something to my food? Do I want to eat forbidden green curry tainted with all the insidious emotions spewing out of ADG? Will I end up like Bruce Banner, and be cursed as a horrible creature every time I taste the heart-pumping, spicy-deliciousness that is Thai cuisine? Only to go on terrorizing LES's innocent "order in" customers with the same venomous contempt! Anyway, I did end up eating my food that day. It was..... so COLD! Double Bummer! Even though ADG was so mean to me I sincerely I hope he finds happiness out there somewhere and transforms into his alter ego Happy Delivery Guy (HDG). He could probably find better prospects in the suburbs where all you have to do is walk from a car to someones front door. There are some notable risks which include wet grass (ewwwwww) or complex obstacles such as gates (better start working out now buddy!). He could maybe move to the beach where he can be a sand plower guy (SPG) who destroys sand castles for a living. I worry that his temper and the heat wouldn't get along too well. I imagine you'd have to have a high school diploma or GED to operate a machine of that size. I have to admit I'd be quite concerned for the elderly, small children and the handicapped. They definitely can't run faster than a sand plower. Better yet he should move to the Northwest and marry the elusive Bigfoot. Their personalities are quite compatible. He'd have so much isolation to safely act out his super berserk rage fits. And a wife who can tolerate beatings. They could have a bunch of Angry Delivery Bigfoots to carry on the ADG+BF legacy. I get it, delivering food isn't fun and probably no ones dream job. And I of all people know how horrible it is to walk up to my apartment. However, I always tip very well (because I know my apartment is a pain) and I am always polite to the delivery guys. Generally Im pretty understanding when people are having bad days (thats why I gave it a second chance). I don't expect a song and dance when you deliver to me. Simply hand me my food and get on with it. Please don't yell and curse at me because you chose to come into my building unannounced or because you had to move your body for a good 5mins. One More Thai is decent and the food/prices are generally good. Unfortunatley none of that merits the drama that comes with ordering from them. Hopefully they get it all sorted out. read more

I love Thai food. I've been to Thailand about 4 times. This is one of the best Thai restaurants in the area. You'd need to go to Queens or Hell's Kitchen for comparable quality. The fact that they are on seamlessweb is icing. They don't skimp on spice, which alot of NYC Thai places do. I can handle a ton of heat and I actually have to get the tom yum mild. They also don't skimp on stanky fish sauce or herbs like lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, and Thai basil. Typical dishes like chicken and basil and pad sew ew are spot on. And if you want to do something a little more extravagent, the Basil red snapper is pretty phenomenal. But only if you can handle the heat. However, they do play the worst music in the world in there. But for good authentic Thai food, sitting through the Thai pop is well worth it. read more

Nice heaping amount of Pad thai while dining in and in the take out containers. Penang Curry tastes very similar to the Massaman. Pad see ew a bit too spicy. Then Zacky poo grabs both tear shaped plates and holds them to his head and says: LOOK! I have ears. Those were the highlights of our late night dinner. For some reason the server made me feel like...An American! Aka FAT and like we were two PIGS dining. And that was just a vibe. (My projection, alas). We got some sort of gooey fried things to start. Z had Pad See EWWWW - Sike, it was actually pretty Ooo-y, aka good. I'm just not a fan of limp semi sweet mushy thick noodles but from what I understand every rendition of this dish is that - so it's not this place. I got the red curry w/ veggies and sticky rice and it just left a little something to be desired. It wasn't too sweet, which was nice. But it also wasn't spicy enough either. I dunno. It's NY. Lovely calm atmosphere - low lights, cool and dark, mellow design and decor. Food = amazing, pretty, comfort food. I've ordered: the green curry & the masuman (sp?) curry. My bf ordered: the Pad Thai with shrimp, and the basil fried rice. All were really yummy and came with a pillowy soft dome shaped plate of white rice. My favorite has been ... both the curries, and I am looking forward to trying all of them, I'm sure I'll find more favorites. [I'm looking at you Jungle Curry, first ingredient: "Rhizomes"?!] My one critique: the lights could be a ~ little ~ brighter, so that one can see the colors of the food better. Ordered take-out the other night and was really satisfied (eating said takeout leftovers for lunch right now, and it's delicious!). I got the Pad See Ew, my roommate got the Pad Thai. Both were tasty and prepared very quickly. Walking into the restaurant, you can smell authentic Thai--that lemongrass-y sweet/sour scent. I'm assuming it's from the food and not some odd air freshener labeled "Thai Restaurant." Anyway, the staff was helpful, the place looked clean and I definitely want to stop in to try some more of their dishes. Definitely not the best thai food I have ever eaten, nor is is close. It was convenient to a theatre so we decided to go here before our show. We weren't overly hungry, but I got the green curry and my husband got the massaman curry. His was definitely better than mine. I don't know how to put it other than it was just missing SOMETHING. They offered a very small portion of rice that we had to ask for more, which was also disappointing. Each entree was $13, not worth it in my opinion. I wouldn't go back. read more

The Atmosphere: It's dark in here and not particularly excitingly decorated relative to the world of Thai restaurants. 2 The Service: Casual enough but not great. They can range from being too attentive as Peter D mentioned, to not remember you at all. I think it's 1 person for the whole dining room most of the time. That is probably enough, but a server is bound to have off nights. 2 The Food: I came here with two other folks. I ordered my standard Basil Beef (Pad Kra Prow). My friend got the Jungle Curry and my other friend got the Red Curry. Both the curries were ok. The Jungle Curry, I found bland, but my friend liked it enough. Mine was adequately ok. The red curry was tasty. If it were just the food, I would have given it a 2.5. The stand out was really the soup. Well executed. Finally - They do tend to be heavy handed with the spice and will warn you if you order extra spicey. That said, if you can handle it don't back down. I ordered takout form here and it was pretty decent. Everything came fresh and fast and the flavors were nice. I had the mango salad, I asked for it to be spicy and it was! I do love spice and I was pleased with the balance I got. It did have a bit too much dressing but other than that, no complaints. I also got the chicken sa-te. It was ok. Spicy enough to have you coming back for more! I had the drunken noodles and tried a little of the green chicken curry, pad thai and panang chicken curry. I really liked the green chicken curry, very flavorful and not as spicy. The pad thai was very sweet, so prepare yourself for some super sweet noodle. The panang was spicy and def need more rice to accompany it. The rice comes in a little plate molded into a leaf or a little man if you look at it from an angle. I really liked my drunken noodles. It was spicy and a tad sweet. Lots of thick rice noodles and spicy peppers. And the chicken was made well, not too dry or overcooked. In addition, I really liked the atmosphere there; it's a dim restaurant and gets busier during the later hours of dinner. read more

Ok-I can only speak for the shrimp pad thai, because it's THAT good I literally can't bring myself to order anything else (yet). But seriously, best pad thai I've had in the city. I always ask for it spicy, and that's all I have to say-spicy! With most other Thai places I'm required to arbitrarily assign a certain number of stars corresponding to how spicy I want it. But not at One More Thai...I just say that one magical word to get the perfect amount of spiciness every single time. I really want to like this restaurant. They delivered to my house: tom kha soup and pad see ew with beef. The tom kha tasted good, thermally hot, spicy and flavorful. As for the drunken noodles, the flavor profile was spot on. But after a few bits, it was so sugary and sickeningly sweet, I dropped my fork and said, "forget about it." I don't like to eat Thai food in New York City for this main reason; all the restaurants make their food sweet and does not make the food taste better. One More Thai saved our Easter dinner! We had planned on going to a pizza place across the street, but after a $15 cab ride, we discovered they were closed for the holiday. After a rather frantic yelp search (why can I no longer make a dining decision without consulting Yelp?), we decided to pop in One More Thai. We were one of only two tables in the establishment, so as expected, we received excellent service. My fiancé had the drunken noodles, which was a departure from his regular pad thai, and he was blown away. I had the shrimp fried rice, which was also very good. I am usually a red curry chicken girl, so I would have also liked to sample this. We were also able to score $3 (I think) beers, which for NYC is fantastic. Would definitely recommend! read more

I didn't think much of it at first based just on the ambiance, but as soon as we ordered we were amazed at how delicious the curries and the mango salad was. The food never disappoints! Shrimp rolls are a must try! The wings are good if dinning in because if you get delivery it gets soggy! They are very good with making sure to put the condiments in the bag. Delivery guy is rude though! I asked him to bring the delivery up and he wouldn't.
