There are lots of Japanese foods all across around San Francisco. Usually there are mostly sushi places scattered around the city in almost all neighborhoods of San Francisco . There is one place where they sell hella onigiri which is similar to sushi which both have rice and are salty like some in SF. It's located inside the Stonestown Mall and it's called Onigilly. On a Summer stroll inside the middle if the Stonestown Mall I landed to what looks like it's the former information desk. Onigilly has no seating and is a take out spot. There are hella different types of this cone shape onigilly available. I got the snow crab real crab meat with lemon aioli. The flavor was tasty and it was savory and sour like some in SF. Then I tried the California which had tempura shrimp and crab salad it was like sushi roll on a seaweed cone. I then got ponzu salmon poke on a seaweed cone and it was smooth and delicious. Overall a good pit stop for a quick bite. Go on a Summer stroll and let the cool Don Juan take the "lead"to the Stonestown Mall so take the advice and take "heed"and don't be sour or salty like some on my social media "feed"and land at a place which sells salmon with rice on a cone made out of "seaweed" When it comes to food Stonestown has it all from sushi which is "Japanese ", and boba which is "Taiwanese", and Pho which is "Vietnamese" to where you can celebrate the birthplace of America 250 years at Great Steak with a Philly steak with three types of "cheese" read more

Delicious! You order and pay at the kiosk and wait at the other end of the counter for your order. My only complaint is that there is nowhere to sit nearby. I had to go upstairs into the food court to find seating. read more

The spicy tuna and unagi onigiri was really good! Just wish they had more pieces of spicy tuna. The kabocha pumpkin croquette was really yummy as well. Need to give 2 packets of sauce instead of one. The item that was disappointing was their signature poke bowl. Not sure what happened here but the salmon and tuna was pretty warm....usually raw fish shouldn't be like that and it tasted a little fishy. I would pass on this and only get the onigiri. Ahhh! The same o' zen bowl I once personally have back in Kearny St! Gotta have variety in one bowl instead of having the same meat and seafood cubes that make a meal comfortable. Edamame, carrot strips, hijiki, cucumbers, you name it, you choose it. With free cup of miso soup to-go, why must I include a beverage of choice? Onigilly, at the very center of Stonestown Galleria, would never disappoint everyone's palates. The best kitchen replaced the coffee shop to receive the center of attention. We stopped by Onigilly for a snack, a little musubi. The prices are very good, the space is clean. You order from a large screen, it's very quick and efficient. We got 2 spicy tuna poke musubi, it includes crab salad and furikake. They were very big, I thought the fish and crab was a good pair. It was a little spicy, if you don't like spice maybe not for you. I was really happy with the musubi. The rice was nice, not too mushy. This is a solid filling snack for $5-6. After tax, it was over $5 for the snow crab onigilly but i wouldn't order again. Theres also a 4.25% SF mandate charge. One bite and you could tell the crab wasn't fresh or it was canned crab. It didn't taste spoiled but it was fishy. Having bought 2 fresh, live crab from the wharf fishermen a couple weeks ago, this crab meat was subpar in taste. I've been on a high protein/low carb diet for health purpose... but this is the place where I break my diet. I love their salmon poke origini and tuna poke origini... but I definitely think their miso nasu (eggplant) is an underrated charm. Yes, it's vegetarian offering but the flavor from the miso eggplant filling is superb. And origini is not just about the filling... rice is equally important. rice isn't just cooked perfectly but the rice ball was pressed with the right amount of pressure - so they aren't mushy but at the same time, not falling apart after one bite. So far the quality is still pretty good even after it first opens... so hope they will keep up with the quality at this location! :D read more

I got the unagi and the salmon ponzu poke onigiris. I really wasn't the biggest fan of the unagi - the meat was as hot as the rice and the consistency was like a shredded teriyaki chicken. The salmon ponzu poke was incredibly flavorful and almost tangy and paired well with the crab and warm rice. As the other reviews mention, the flavors seem to either hit or miss and not surprisingly with the number of options to chose from.
