I LOVE this food truck. Mostly, because they have a map painted on it that includes my family's home country of Honduras! This made me super happy because being a Boston native, it's been a challenge finding AfroLatin/Caribbean food on the West so when I stumbled upon them at the Black on The Block event, I did not hesitate to order the largest plate with all the staples I grew up eating. . Since they are catering to the event, a plate will run you approximately $20+. It is large and I definitely ate out of it twice at that price point. I chose their Main Tingz Chicken Combo plate that comes with one leg, one thigh, fried plantains, fresh baked bread, a sweet and tangy sauce and two sides. For my sides, I got a salad and rice and peas. . Maybe it was my hunger from working the event all day that was talking, but they lived up to their name because the food was on point. First time here, the lady who we spoke with was very informative. She answered all of the questions we had. It was really good! Chicken had good flavor, beans had just that right amount of smokiness I like, ended up trying my friends potato salad which was good. OnPointttt has a decent selection of meal options though only one Vegan meal option as of my most recent visit, the Jerk Plantain Taco, which is good. I don't know if the meal comes with rice and beans all the time. As a volunteer of an event, I receive a meal ticket, and ask if the meal can be as potentially filling as possible since there is only one Vegan meal option which is not as filling (to me) as the other meal options on the menu which the volunteer meal ticket allows a volunteer to receive. The rice and beans are good. The plantain mixes well with the mango. I like my tacos to be fluffier and softer tacos. I was able to get the spicy ginger shrimp and just like the name of this establishment... it was on point! The rice was so good because it had some of the sauce from the shrimp. I only give 4 stars because even though the shrimp had a lot of flavor, the shrimp was not deveined. This left the shrimp with an unappetizing texture. I've tried jerk chicken in many places: Jamaica, Grenada, NY and Toronto. This jerk chicken from On Pointttt is by far the closest I've had to jerk chicken in Jamaica. The idea that jerk chicken has to be unbearably spicy to the point where your mouth is on fire is absurd. Ordered 2 jerk chicken meals and 2 lemonades and it came out to $53. Prices shown were $15 per meal and $3.5 per lemonade... I even asked the guy if the total was correct and he just gave me a look and said yes. I was hoping for some good a** food so I said alright. I got 4 small pieces of burnt chicken. When I mean burnt, it tasted like pieces of coal. (One response mentioned it's supposed to have a "char" flavor. This is far from char.) By the time I actually got some meat, it was all bone. I'm not exaggerating when I say if I removed the meat off the bones I would have still had more rice than chicken. Another review mentioned it was supposed to be a leg and a thigh but I got neither of those. (Unless it was so burnt it just didn't look like that anymore). The rice and peas didn't really taste like much. Usually there's some hint of coconut milk and they just tasted bland. Still better than the "char". The beans were okay.
