They also have outdoor seating in a converted parking lot. First time here, so I wanted to try a few different things. We had the "daily special"...buffalo wings. They were just okay. The sauce was fine, but the actual wing lacked flavor/seasoning. The very popular mozzarella sticks were also just okay. Another special was their pepperoni pizza made on their delicious garlic ciabatta bread. The chicken parm was also tasty. My favorite dish was actually the Caesar salad with the Calabrian chili oil dressing. Verrrrrry good! I could eat that everyday. I'm going to look into adding chicken or shrimp next time. We found out about this spot through a YouTube video and had to come check it out. I saw that they do reservations online so definitely check those out if you are planning ahead, but we came last minute hoping for the best! Parking is pretty tough on this busy intersection but we did get a table right away even on a Saturday at lunchtime. This place has been recommended to me a few times and I finally decided to make the 1 hour drive to see what the hype was all about. Limited parking on their lot but there is plenty of street parking. Service was excellent, I never had an empty glass of water and my food was ready within a couple of minutes of ordering. I tried the wings that were on special, I'm normally not a huge buffalo wings fan but these were so good paired with their ranch! I ordered two types of pastas: the limone pasta and the braised beef pasta. The limone pasta reminded me a lot of the Jon & Vinny's pasta but even better for the price. One of the best italian spots in LA. It's small and quaint in the inside and they have a nice outdoor seating area with heated lamps! They have a really affordable prefix family style menu but their normal menu is also affordable and has a nice variety. I came here in April for a date day with my son and the wait times are pretty insane, but also it is a smaller restaurant and they try their best with the space which I loved. My son and I sat outside but waited about an hour the hosts were really nice from what I recall and her makeup was super cute and different I recall giving her a compliment about it because it was purple and it was adorable. Anyways back to the food my son ate his pasta so thats safe to say that it's Child Approved since I have such a hard time finding something he loves he's a inner foodie too like me hereditary of course. First off, let's start with the parking... valet is $10 in the front, which they move your car to the neighborhood area behind it. You can save yourself that by parking yourself if you get lucky, or what I did was parked across the street. There is no on site parking since they put 5 tables in their parking lot stalls. Next the wait time for the food, Normal wait time, everything came out perfect timing. The food, was good! Out of the two pastas I really liked that ragu, had a great amount of meat and the pasta was cooked to my preference perfectly, I don't like it al dente. If you like lemon, you'll definitely love their a limone, has a good small spice. The Fried Brussel sprouts, super good in the beginning but they weren't as crispy as I would have liked, maybe too much sauce that made it soggy and a tad too much lemon. The only downside was we had a reservation and still waited about 45 minutes past our reservation time to be seated, which was pretty frustrating. At first they also told us they were out of mozzarella sticks, but later came back and said they found one last order available if we still wanted it. I've never really experienced a restaurant running out of a few basic menu items that early in the evening, so that was a little odd. For entrees, we had the chicken parmesan, crab pasta, milanese, and the alla vodka pasta. Everything was solid except the alla vodka. Personally, I wouldn't order that one again because the flavor reminded me a little too much of Chef Boyardee. Even with the wait and a few menu hiccups, I'd still give this place another try because the service was genuinely good. The manager came by and introduced himself, which I appreciated, and our server Esma was super sweet and attentive throughout the night. My party was large, and they were able to set us up in a nice space with a nice table. Which was nice. The interior is really sweet, really cute and warm. Beautiful vibe overall. The food I will say was out of this world. Super surprising once again having been disappointed after a few years of me being Los Angeles. Everything my family ordered was great. I made sure to try everyone's dish lol everything I put in my mouth was fantastic. The cost of everything was as expected. Reasonable but there were a few items of course I thought were overpriced. Like I mentioned earlier they have an appetizer of a plate of ricotta with meatballs. Ended up being two meatballs with probably not housemaid ricotta cheese. That screamed LA to me. For our mains we got the bolognese and alfredo, and this is where it might not be my right to judge how good this is. The alfredo had a nice look, but I didn't like the firmness of the noodles nor the texture of the sauce. Taste-wise it was alright, it was slightly bland but to the point where it surprisingly made it better. For the bolognese, I enjoyed the taste very well. It had a nice herby flavor, and wasn't overly oily. The only thing I couldn't stand was the amount of sauce in it. I think it is personal preference, but I just don't like it. I feel like all of these reviews are just personal preference, so don't look at this review and make your final judgement to go here. For my final words; food-wise, this would be a 3/5. Atmosphere-wise, 5/5. This means I'll just even it out and give it a 4 star. I get you're trying to make money but that was not nice sir :/ For the food, the cheesy garlic bread and marinara was okay but had a nice crispy bite. The side of shrimp was pretty good and not bad for the price. The beet salad was different but it was my favorite. The crab mafalda was alright. It just tasted creamy with bits of blue crab but the pasta used in the dish was good. I did wish the wine came in a wine glass instead of a regular glass cup. We stopped at Sunday Gravy for dinner before heading to a concert at SoFi Stadium... and wow, this spot set the tone for the night! Thom, our GA/server, was absolutely fantastic. He knew the menu inside and out, and he didn't steer us wrong once. We started with the Mozzarella Sticks, which were everything you want them to be -- golden brown, perfectly crisp on the outside, gooey on the inside, and topped with a little sprinkle of cheese for good measure. The marinara sauce was fresh and just the right amount of tangy. I order a side of ranch, too, because the two go together. Next up: the Hot Wings, and these were smothered (the way wings should be!). Juicy, spicy, and paired with cool ranch and crisp veggies. This wasn't my absolute favorite, but we ate as much as we could! The Caesar Salad was honestly one of the best Caesars I've ever had -- super fresh, with big crunchy romaine leaves, a perfectly balanced dressing, and just the right hit of parmesan and breadcrumbs (LOTS) for texture. For mains, my gf went with the Al Limone noodles -- creamy, lemony goodness that tasted like comfort food in a bowl. I had the Homemade Lasagna, which came bubbling hot and cheesy with a rich, flavorful sauce that made me want to mop up every last bit with bread. Lucky for my husband, I had leftovers and dropped it back at home since we lived so close. Everything came out hot, well-seasoned, and perfectly timed. You can tell this place cares about the food and the experience. Thom took his time to share the history behind the name and legacy of the owners which was a nice touch. If you're looking for a spot with consistently great food, friendly service, and a welcoming vibe before (or after) an event at SoFi -- Sunday Gravy should be on your list.
