I ALWAYS recommend this place to anyone visiting Inglewood or stopping by for a game or concert. It really captures a cool local vibe and reflects Inglewood's modern energy and diversity. Possibly one of my favorite Italian restaurants that I've ever been to! The cheese-sticks and Buffalo Wings were absolutely phenomenal starters, and I loved the Caesar Salad too! I absolutely love Sunday Gravy in Inglewood! I go to a lot of Rams games at Sofi and am so happy I discovered this great restaurant to dine at on game days. When I've been there, staff has been amazing from the friendly hosts to the attentive servers. I've heard old school hip hop over the speakers and vibed out nicely while dining. So basically, I love the service and the entire atmosphere so points from the start! But then the food, is delicious. Word on my Yelp streets was, the Cheesy Garlic Bread ($11.50) was a must get and it's not just hype. That garlic bread is other worldly delicious! I'm getting this every time I'm in! Then their pastas are so darn tasty with a couple of highlights for me being the Lasagna Al Forno ($21) and the A Limoné ($17) which is like a lemon-peppery-bucatini dish. That lasagna is a monster though, and I mean that in the best way possible. I absolutely loved the huge portion and leftovers the next day. I enjoyed Sunday Gravy's little spins on things (it's like an updated & fresh, old school-style Italian joint) and the feeling of comfort the whole meal. Two years of wanting to try this place, and it did not disappoint. The service was great from start to finish. Had a lovely visit at Sunday Gravy today. As soon as we stepped foot on the property we were pleasantly greeted and the service was excellent throughout. Inside dining area is nice and quaint. They also have outdoor seating in a converted parking lot. First time here, so I wanted to try a few different things. We had the "daily special"...buffalo wings. They were just okay. The sauce was fine, but the actual wing lacked flavor/seasoning. The very popular mozzarella sticks were also just okay. Another special was their pepperoni pizza made on their delicious garlic ciabatta bread. The chicken parm was also tasty. My favorite dish was actually the Caesar salad with the Calabrian chili oil dressing. Verrrrrry good! I could eat that everyday. I'm going to look into adding chicken or shrimp next time. We found out about this spot through a YouTube video and had to come check it out. I saw that they do reservations online so definitely check those out if you are planning ahead, but we came last minute hoping for the best! Parking is pretty tough on this busy intersection but we did get a table right away even on a Saturday at lunchtime. It may look normal, but it was all the carby cheesy goodness you would want. It was almost like having a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup... So comforting! This place has been recommended to me a few times and I finally decided to make the 1 hour drive to see what the hype was all about. Limited parking on their lot but there is plenty of street parking. Service was excellent, I never had an empty glass of water and my food was ready within a couple of minutes of ordering. I tried the wings that were on special, I'm normally not a huge buffalo wings fan but these were so good paired with their ranch! I ordered two types of pastas: the limone pasta and the braised beef pasta. The limone pasta reminded me a lot of the Jon & Vinny's pasta but even better for the price. I came here in April for a date day with my son and the wait times are pretty insane, but also it is a smaller restaurant and they try their best with the space which I loved. My son and I sat outside but waited about an hour the hosts were really nice from what I recall and her makeup was super cute and different I recall giving her a compliment about it because it was purple and it was adorable. Anyways back to the food my son ate his pasta so thats safe to say that it's Child Approved since I have such a hard time finding something he loves he's a inner foodie too like me hereditary of course. So we came back with reservation and one downside was we still had to wait for good almost 15mins post our appointment time to be seated. It's a cute thematic venue with spacious outdoor patio available. Their menu selection was pretty rich and occasionally they served off-menu offerings. We went for their crowd's top-picks, the Fusilli A La Vodka and Meatballs & Ricotta. The pasta was cooked al dente in nice creamy vodka sauce, which would even be better if slightly less sweet for my liking. My top reco would certainly be the meatballs with ricotta. One of the best italian spots in LA. It's small and quaint in the inside and they have a nice outdoor seating area with heated lamps! They have a really affordable prefix family style menu but their normal menu is also affordable and has a nice variety. If you come here, getting a caesar salad is a must - it's creamy and tangy and extremely impressive for a salad. First off, let's start with the parking... valet is $10 in the front, which they move your car to the neighborhood area behind it. If you like lemon, you'll definitely love their a limone, has a good small spice. I've been waiting for a chance to try Sunday Gravy for the past 5 years (they've been around for 6) and my recent visit did not disappoint. Sunday chop Salad: 10/10, I love the shredded lettuce, lightly dressed but packed with flavor from salami and green olives. Beet and citrus salad: 9/10, a tumble of beets and blood orange atop creamy labneh (somewhere Greek yogurt between sour cream), contrasts of sweet savory and creamy with a little pistachio crunch Meatballs: 10/10, just a side of meatballs, $8, but seriously some of the best meatballs I've ever had: so tender! And the sauce had the right balance of bright tomato tang and sweetness. As close to perfect meatballs as I can recall having anywhere. Crab Mafalda pasta: 10/10: crabby slithery and oily in the best ways. Rich and satisfying. Ragu with rigatoni: 8/10; I found the rigatoni a little too al dente, and while everything melded together in a rich and satisfying way it felt slightly under seasoned or lacking a flavor pop compared to the meatballs and other dishes. It was good but some of the other dishes blew me away and this one was just pleasant. Affogato for dessert: 9.5/10: good strong coffee, creamy ice cream, very enjoyable. The place is small, charming and eclectic, bumping hip hop music. They have a nice selection of wines (a couple of Chenin Blanc, which is nice to see). Service was fast and friendly. Overall, this was a solid 4-star experience with really good food and great service. The only downside was we had a reservation and still waited about 45 minutes past our reservation time to be seated, which was pretty frustrating. Thankfully, we grabbed some wine while we waited, so that definitely helped the time go by a little faster. The ambiance was really cute with moody lighting that gave the restaurant a cozy vibe. For starters, we ordered the mozzarella sticks, cheesy bread, Caesar salad, meatballs and ricotta, and a buffalo wing special they were offering. The wings were delicious. We even tried ordering a second round, but they had already sold out. At first they also told us they were out of mozzarella sticks, but later came back and said they found one last order available if we still wanted it. I've never really experienced a restaurant running out of a few basic menu items that early in the evening, so that was a little odd. For entrees, we had the chicken parmesan, crab pasta, milanese, and the alla vodka pasta. Everything was solid except the alla vodka. Personally, I wouldn't order that one again because the flavor reminded me a little too much of Chef Boyardee. Even with the wait and a few menu hiccups, I'd still give this place another try because the service was genuinely good. The manager came by and introduced himself, which I appreciated, and our server Esma was super sweet and attentive throughout the night. I guess management was there, but did some half ass walking around to the tables trying to help. Nothing special, did not even introduce themselves or do anything special for Mother's Day for tables. My party was large, and they were able to set us up in a nice space with a nice table. Which was nice. The interior is really sweet, really cute and warm. Beautiful vibe overall. The food I will say was out of this world. Super surprising once again having been disappointed after a few years of me being Los Angeles. Everything my family ordered was great. I made sure to try everyone's dish lol everything I put in my mouth was fantastic. The cost of everything was as expected. Reasonable but there were a few items of course I thought were overpriced. Like I mentioned earlier they have an appetizer of a plate of ricotta with meatballs. Ended up being two meatballs with probably not housemaid ricotta cheese. That screamed LA to me. I've been seeing Sunday Gravy all over my Instagram feed, so I finally pulled up for lunch -- and man, I'm glad I did. This place is tucked away near La Brea and Centinela, and it feels like one of those neighborhood gems you almost don't want to tell people about. The vibe is super casual and homey. The entree took a while to be served but we had cheesy bread which was a little hard and not really flavored well and the marinara sauce tasted more of tomato soup and there is an $1.75 fee for it. Very small entree portions The crab mafalda tastes like tuna casserole def not a fan. I liked my A limon'e, I love lemon. The bussers and wait staff Arent very good about cleaning hands between dirty dish removal and bringing food. Also mo hand washing with hands on glasses when brining them out the kitchen. That grosses me out. I tried it, but no need to come back. Also there is a 5% ca fee added to the check and $10 valet fee ( we street parked ) . As soon as we arrived, we were pleasantly greeted by many staff members. Staff was friendly and provided the day's specials in detail. Water refills constantly and multiple staff checking in with us throughout our stay. Now onto the food. The Mozerella sticks were delicious. I got a lasagna and my bf a salmon specialty pasta that were both amazing. Lastly we had the dessert that was yummy! Sunday Gravy is definitely a spot where you'll want a reservation--otherwise expect a long wait. Even with one, we still ended up waiting about 20 minutes past our reservation time. It's technically in Inglewood but more in the Ladera Heights area, which is a nicer, quieter part. We went with the family special (2 salads, 3 pastas, and cheesy garlic bread) and also ordered chicken parm and a chicken cutlet. For salads, we tried the Caesar and the citrus beet--both were solid. For pasta, we had the fettuccine Alfredo, vodka, and bolognese, and those were definitely the highlights. The cheesy garlic bread was a bit underwhelming, and they had already sold out of mozzarella sticks and wings, which was disappointing. On the bright side, the bread pudding was really good and a great way to end the meal. Overall, some hits and some misses, but the salad, pasta and dessert stood out the most. read more
