They took care of our furniture and made sure to always ask us what to do with certain furniture if they weren't sure themselves. From the onset, Sam was very responsive and organized in helping to setup my move. Very clear in explaining the process and costs. My moving team of Hugo, Juan Carlos, and Miguel were amazing. The three of them got my entire move from a 2 bedroom apartment done in just under four hours... including an hour and ten minute drive to the destination. If I could give 10 stars I would. I hired Ontrack for a two-bedroom apartment move from San Leandro to Oakland. From the moment I received a quote I knew I was dealing with an extraordinary company. They were so patient with my move date requests and made sure I fully understood the quote. The best part came with the day of the move. My team of movers, including Jorge Gonzalez, Eduardo and Jose, were a dream. Not only were they super careful with our property, wrapping and protecting everything, but they were super quick and efficient. Highly recommend OnTrack Moving. Did a long distance move from SF Bay Area to Seattle, WA. Got 6 quotes split between local companies and the big name Van Lines. Ultimately picked Ontrack due to their responsiveness, competitive pricing, and services fitting our wants/needs (e.g. not sharing a truck, temporary storage, guaranteed delivery date). They also were one of only two companies we got quotes from who did in-person walkthroughs of the house (for us, every company who did virtual walkthroughs quoted significantly higher compared to their in-person peers for identical services...) Had a 4-man crew to load the truck. They were very efficient and took good care of all our belongings (we self packed nearly all small items beforehand). Before heading out, they locked the back of the truck with a single-use lock and had me take a picture of its serial number to ensure the first time the door was reopened was at time of delivery. 2 of the original crew (Miguel P. and Edwin H.) drove the truck to the new house. They arrived on schedule and were just as efficient at unloading everything. It's 3 week's post move at the time of this review and I have not found anything broken or damaged so far. Ontrack just finished our move and it was as efficient and professional as it could be! Edgar, Juan Carlos, and Francisco were absolutely amazing. We were doing a three stop move--my partner's apartment, mine (up one flight of stairs), and then our new spot (up two flights of stairs). I had never worked with movers before and really hate moving, period.... But this alleviated a lot of the difficulty. Even though it must have been exhausting to move the contents of two homes up to a third story apartment, they were super nice as well as consistent in their pace! From start to finish it was a smooth experience with no hiccups. Luke quoted me with a pretty accurate estimate when I called, and answered all my questions about what to expect. Initially I did balk at the cost (because phew, and I've never hired movers before) but honestly I feel it was absolutely worth it to save us from the most difficult part of moving--and because this truly is intensive, difficult labor that deserves to be compensated adequately. I reached out to Ontrack for an estimate about a month before my moving date. One thing that stood out right at the start was the excellent communication and customer service I received from Dylan and Sam while booking my appointment. In particular, Sam went over every detail in the estimate I received and he was also able to answer all my random questions like what happens if there are a lot of stairs in my apartment and which items should be left to the professionals to pack. On my actual moving day, I received an automated text that told me my movers were about 40 minutes away and another one when they actually arrived. Jonathan, Francisco, and Diego showed up bright and early and they went above and beyond to help move a ton of large and small cardboard boxes filled with stuff as well as around 20 extra large moving bags, two side tables, a queen sized bed, and an extra large sofa and ottoman set. I say they went above and beyond because not only was It was a lot of stuff, but there were a lot of challenges associated with my move that they had to navigate. For example, I moved from the third/highest floor of an apartment complex with no elevator and, at one point, the crew had to move their truck. Some of the extra large moving bags were not as durable as advertised and the crew was gracious enough to wrap them in plastic wrap and/or place them in boxes when they began to rip at the seems. Last but not least, both my former and current apartment complexes had multiple gates and door codes that they had to work around and they did it all with the utmost care, patience, and kindness that I have ever experienced from a moving crew. My building elevator is inside a garage where their truck couldn't fit so they had to walk a distance to get stuff to the elevator and then walk again on the 3rd floor to get to our unit. This was a tough job and they got it all done with no complaints or issues. They were very considerate and asked where we wanted everything to go, and they were super careful with our stuff. Edgar, Jonathan & Brandon did a great job for moving. They were loaded/unloaded everything so fast without damaging anything. They were very very dedicated. Our dog had hip surgery recently and moving him was a major concern for us especially because the new place had 10 steps without elevator. (We had to change our moving date a couple of times, and they were patient with the changes. We needed a them to to bring a special piece of equipment with which to move our piano [called a piano bench] - and they did. We needed their red carpet to protect our new wood floors; they provided it. And we needed a four man team, and that's what we got.) Hector, our team's leader, was warm and friendly, and just great to work with. He introduced his team, and we all walked around, so they could see what needed doing. Hector was really on top of the job, as were all of the men. I can't say enough good things about them; they were careful with our things, while still being fast and efficient. They were super-polite. We were moving into our newly remodeled home and were worried about the floors being damaged - they understood our concern, were very careful, and wore booties. Just call them. They ran a bit behind in the morning. Having had a recent horror of an experience with days late delivery, I was worried and on edge. But they arrived and began immediately! They loaded my contents from a rented container at a company's site. They unloaded my belongings into my new, smaller space. They took extras to my local storage facility for me. They cleaned up after themselves. OnTrack moving did what the said they would from administrative side of the house that needed no reminders and less than a single hour to complete paperwork, to labor logistics who unwrapped and reassembled furniture and they were courteous while they did it. I moved from a 2 bedroom apt in SF to a single family home in San Mateo. Ontrack moving was a great company to work with. From consultation to scheduling, there was seamless communication and transparency. The hourly rate is a little on the expensive side, but worth it. On move in day, the team showed up on time and followed all instructions correctly. As a bonus, they showed up with an extra man and didn't charge for it. Every man was very diligent and pretty much worked straight with no breaks. They did leave a pretty large ding in a staircase railing at our new place. But within a week, a wood professional came by, spent about 1.5 hrs repairing the damage with care, all free of charge. Mistakes happen and Ontrack's follow through was really commendable. One piece of advice, they do go a little heavy on the packing materials to make sure absolutely nothing breaks. I would recommend either packing or tossing stuff you really don't care about in order to cut down on time and costs. read more

Two guys managed to brake a thousands dollar worth hospital bed that was donated for my elderly mother. The bed is extremely heavy, so they thought it's a great idea to take it apart, expose all the wiring and grab the wires while you try to move in the bed! Just awful and unprofessional. Up front pricing, no runaround. The crews have a Foreman. In this case Brandon who was helpful and professional and helped coordinate the group. The others on the team,Jose Guarcos, Iban and Michael. We moved into a brand new townhouse. They took great care on a set of wooden steps, and brand new rug. Minimal scuffing or issues. They put cardboard, moving rug, blankets, plastic down to protect the floors. The crew who came down to SD, Brandon and Juan G, two man teamed a 26ft truck with no issues or complaints. Helping break down and build furniture. After 6 hours of moving they even offered to help us shift around stuff in the house. My experience with OnTrack Moving was not good and was more like OffTrack Moving. The move was going fine for the most part. What did not go well was the final billing and exit experience; we did find minor damages to our furnishings (small tear in sofa and small scratch in our new love seat). What was inflated was the charge for one-time use moving / packing material. Originally we received a quote for $80 and the final cost was $280 (more than 3X higher). I did contact office before paying but the personnel simply said these estimates are a shot in the dark. Understandably estimates may be rough here but this was 3X off and I did provide an upfront list of items to be moved. I do believe this was not a shot in the dark; the estimate is expected to be much closer to actual amount. In any case, I do not plan to be a repeat customer and would not recommend to anyone in my circle. read more

I hired Ontrack for a move toward the end of October 2020. They moved my 2-bedroom Oakland place into a rented Penske truck for an interstate move. The guys that showed up, Monty and Domingo, were great to work with. They were expedient, careful, and respectful. They were sure to check with me before using their own supplies -- e.g., moving tape, blankets, boxes, etc. -- which was appropriate as I had many of these supplies on hand already. The largest thing they had to move was my pinball machine. I had done the prep work of breaking it down (removing the legs, wrapping in a blanket and moving wrap), but they still had to put it on a dolly, maneuver it down a couple steps, and put it on the truck without damaging it. This was the furniture I was most concerned about, and it went great. As far as I can tell and recall, no furniture was broken or carelessly handled throughout the move. My wife and I used Ontrack Moving to move from the East Bay to about 1 hour, 45 minutes away. The crew came on time and packed our two bedroom apartment in 2 hours. The crew was efficient, fast, and professional. When we arrived at our new location, the movers unpacked the truck in an hour. Again they were fast and professional. A majority of our large furniture had to go up to the second floor and they manage to not even drop anything, scrape the stair rails, or touch any walls. They even helped moved some of old large furniture to the street. Overall, my wife and I are glad we went with Ontrack and were very satisfied with our service.
