Had my first Greek food experience here and it was awesome! The spinach pie was delicious as was the chicken kebab on pita bread and the salads. Pretty cheap for the amount of food. I only give 4 stars bc our waitress was very unfriendly and kept complaining that the busboys weren't doing the things we asked her for (like water refill, pita bread etc) so found that kind of off putting. Good food. Just be careful as you are given menu with prices and your bill gets higher prices for items. This happened twice to us after our cards were swiped, we got the itemized bill. When this was pointed out to female manager (she claimed she was the only manager or owner on duty then) , no attempt was made to correct the errors. Due to time pressures, we could not argue and have the bill voided and reissued. We tipped the waiter as he provided excellent service. Rude, inconsiderate, unkind. My grandmother passed away and I was looking for a place in Nassau County to have a luncheon after the burial for around 15 people. I called on a Sunday around 4:30, which is an off time, to set it up for Wednesday afternoon. I asked the woman who answered the phone if they can provide the fried fish and cognac for the traditional Greek meal following a burial. She responded, "I have no idea what you're talking about." Then said nothing. I kindly asked if there was someone else there who might be able to help. She said she would get one of the servers to come to the phone. I heard the phone shifting around, yet still in her hand. She waited about 30 seconds, then said, "They all seem busy and to call back later." She couldn't even make the effort to get someone else to help me. Of course I didn't call back. I called the Landmark diner and they were sweet, kind, accommodating, and HUMAN. read more

I have been coming to this Opa Grill occasionally for a few years. Lately the food has not been as enjoyable as in years past mostly because I feel they are taking shortcuts in the kitchen. On more than one recent occasion I ordered chicken souvlaki platter for dinner. Although the chicken was thoroughly cooked, it was just barely warm enough to be edible without sending back. It is obvious to me that they are just barely reheating precooked chicken based on the serving temperature. The chicken was dry inside which is another giveaway that it is not cooked fresh. This place has a nice atmosphere and the service is very good, but if I am going to be served reheated chicken, I can easily find other alternatives for dinner. read more

I feel Opa Grille is one of the healthier choices in the area. The food always tastes fresh and is delicious. I just wish the 1 waitress working last time had more help. She appeared frazzled and the next table over was rude to her because she forgot their coffee. Ate here for the first time today and I see many more visits in the future. It's rare to find a good, satisfying moussaka and this place has it. Mine came alongside a fresh and tangy Greek salad complete with little peppers and a stuffed grape leaf. Beautiful presentation and large portion with just the right blend of ingredients. My lunch buddy had the spinach pie which I tasted and also rates high, though I would personally prefer a touch more feta inside. The service was good and I like the layout of the tables - with plenty of room in between so you don't feel claustrophobic. Food was pretty good. Not amazing, but good. There is plenty of parking, which is very convenient. The inside is clean and looks okay. Personally, I think it could use a little more "Greek" decor. Arrived with a party of 5 on a Tuesday for lunch. We originally had planned to go to another place about a mile away but it was closed. Nice atmosphere, attentive waitress. Very friendly staff. Had the Chicken Souvlaki over Greek Salad lunch special. My dish was excellent and the rest of my party concurred on their own selections (all from the lunch special menu). The food here is really good, but the waitresses and owner are fantastic. They tell you what's good and how to combine things to save money. They have no problems with substitutions. My husband and I had lunch here today. I had the chicken gyro on a greek salad. It was delicious and flavorful. I liked the stuffed grape leaves that came w/ it. I had the mushroom barley soup which was fine. The accompanying warm pita triangle with tzatsiki was great. My husband had the mousaka, which he thoroughly enjoyed. I try to grab some grub from here every chance i get. I agree with some of the other Yelper's with regards to the cost. Its a little pricey for greek food. I can drive abt 20 minutes to queens and feed an army for less money. However.... i dont always have the time to do so therefor i make Opa Grille my go to for greek food locally. The staff is super nice, and i have never had a problem with the speed of the service. I will say, the lunch specials give you pretty good bang for the buck. a Gyro w/ fries for like 7 bucks? not bad in my opinion. My personal fave is the pork souvlaki. Its spot on. Excellent service I go here regularly. Great food consistently good. I usually take out but the one time I ate in I had to get up out of my seat so an elderly women can pass and I thought nothing of it but the manager approached and told us our glasses of wine were on the house due too the inconvenience. Went here, after going to the Italian Fair. Although the pita and yogurt sauce were delicious, we waited what seemed like an eternity for our meals. We had the chicken souflaki and the gyro platters. Chicken was tasty but there were barely any peppers and onions on the plate. The gyro was a disappointment. For 17.00, it looked as if it were the scraps, no full pieces. I've never had gyro like that before, especially for the fact that it was the platter and not the sandwich. No worth the price. read more

We went on a Thursday night. We ordered the octupus for starters. It was tasty but the portion was very small. Then I ordered the calamari with lemon potatoes and my husband ordered the grilled whole fish. I have never seen a smaller Branzino, it was the size of a large sardine. Again the portion was small. My order of the calamari was enough, but the lemon potatoes was so small. Three pieces of lemon potato. So be prepared that the portions are small, but pricy. The staff is very nice and the place is very clean. But it is way too expensive for what and how much they serve. read more

My boyfriend and I love the Opa Grill. We used to go there more when he lived in NHP but we recently went back there for dinner. The food is always delicious. They give you pita pieces and awesome tzatiki (sp?) to start. We've had the calamari appetizer which isn't the best I've had but still good and then I usually get a chicken gyro or the chicken souvlaki salad which are both delicious and my boyfriend tries something new each time. The servers are pleasant and attentive and the prices are good. They have a very reasonable lunch menu and even their dinner menu isn't outrageous. I would definitely recommend it! read more
