Spoke to the manager about a racist man working by the sandwich bar who refused to make an egg and cheese sandwich for my visibly muslim mom who ASKED not once but THREE TIMES for an egg and cheese sandwich. The third time she even clarified she does not want meat on the sandwich. The workers kept joking about ham and then proceeded to lay out ham on bread and asked her what toppings she wants. She wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt even though she knows they did this on purpose. Over the phone the manager said they would take this situation seriously but a few minutes later they replied to google reviews saying this never happened. My friends family and I will not let this go until it is taken seriously. This is the man that did this to my mom please do not give these people any more business. read more

I eat lunch here 4/5 working days per week and it is such a great place. The cashiers are friendly and there's a wide selection of fresh offerings to choose from. I tend to grab a premade salad (grilled salmon $13) or hit the steam table for the roast pork and 2 veggie sides $15. There's premade sushi and a hot table too if you like. I rarely eat breakfast there but the egg cheese bacon on a roll sandwich was amazing! There's indoor/outdoor seating to eat your meal after purchase if you choose. read more

Excellent options for keto/low carb-based diets, that won't break your bank. Probably the best rotisserie chickens you can find in the region, made fresh every morning on-site. None of those dry, terrible plastic-boxed chickens you get from grocery chains. Not the cheapest at around $14 for a full chicken, but well worth the price when your diet options are limited. I grab lunch here often - besides the open buffet, they have a lunch carvery and it's literally PERFECT if you are too busy to meal prep and are sticking to vegetables/proteins only. The lunch special typically offers cauliflower/broccoli/string beans/mixed veggies as base options (you pick 2), and 1 protein (pastrami, roast turkey, 1/2 a rotisserie chicken, pulled pork, salmon, lemon chicken) for around $13. They fill up a container and I guarantee you'll be full, especially when the competition is a $15 salad from Chopt/Sweetgreen or whatever that always leaves me hungry. My wife is Korean and she loves the kimchi + bulgogi fried rice, which they also make fresh in their stir-fry station. Apparently it's the best (only?) option for decent Korean food in FIDI. read more

Chances are if you work in the area, then Open Market isn't so bad. If you're visiting--especially over the weekend--then I recommend searching for a different place to make your visit more worth it. Think of it as, would you go to Chipotle for lunch/dinner if you're visiting a new city? This is a convenient location with nearly anything your body could possibly be craving for, which also makes it a great place to hit up for lunch with co-workers. My breakfast order was supposed to be an avocado sandwich with lettuce tomatoes and onions. I walked away to pick up water. Only to discover when I got to work and took a bite or two sandwich I realized I was not tasting any avocado I opened the sandwich and that little piece of avocado that was hanging out was the only piece of avocado there. Since it was too far from my job site and I already started work I could not go back. I am writing this review to express my displeasure with the service and the deception. What's there to say about Open Market? It's probably the best hot food/salad bar I've encountered, seeing how I've almost been going here exclusively whenever I buy lunch at work. I think it comes down to a good, wide selection that tastes fresh, well-made, and generally not too heavy/greasy. Give it a try! Oh and word to the wise, this place gets busy during the lunch hour, so either go early or late if you want to avoid having to fight through the large droves of people. First time here I had a turky sandwhich, and it was like Thanksgiving! The turky was moist and not dry, had cranberry sauce, and the bread/vegtables were a good compliment to it all. The mainstay I have here is the stir fry for sure though. It's not the best of ingredients, and a little heavy on the soy sauce, but still solid for lunch at $8. The ramen is also solid enough, but nothing to write home about, I'd definitely get the stir fry if you're on the fence between the two. read more

The go to lunch spot for Wall St. regulars working in the area. They feature different stations serving everything from salad, ramen, Korean, sandwiches and a very fresh and well appointed buffet. Great spot if you're not sure what you want and more likely than not, they will have something on your mind for lunch. I visit here at least 3x a week since it is right by my office. They also have soup, coffee and an oatmeal station in the mornings. Gets very crowded prime time at 12:30-1 but the lines and service moves quickly. The buffet is a favorite and there is a slight variation from day to day. Buffet is FRESH and most dishes made extremely well. A very good weekday lunch resource. I've been getting lunch from here occasionally. I like Chinatown much more but since this place is closer to my workplace I come here quite often. This review is specifically for their coffee bar. I used to come here quite often to get a cappuccino or latte and would love the drinks! I would typically say they were better than Starbucks (and I'm a frequent visitor of Starbucks). After not going for a few months, I went today to get a cappuccino and the barista screwed it up twice. I'm not sure if it was the barista or just the coffee flavor, but I definitely feel like this place is going downhill after noticing a few other changes.
