Great place to enjoy your lunch or dinner here in Sedona! Open Range Grill is located on the second floor at the Sinagua Plaza. The view from the patio dining area is amazing! I walked in without any reservations and I was pretty lucky to get a table on the patio dining very quickly, about 5 minutes waiting the most. My waitress was very nice, took my order immediately. I felt eating a bowl of soup before my meal, so I asked her "what's the soup of the day?" She said it is some chicken and vegetables, and I thought it was okay and ordered a bowl. She brought the soup out fast, in a huge bowl! First of all, the bowl was HUGE, but the amount of soup was less than a bowl for sure. And secondly, but most importantly, it was a beef stew soup with veggies. Okay, it wasn't chicken as she said it, but I didn't say anything about it, because I like beef soup too, and it was delicious! For second, I ordered the French Dip sandwich with fries. The meat was smoked prime rib and it was very tasty! My meal was delicious and satisfying! No room for dessert! Maybe next time. I'm sure I will return. read more

We had an awesome experience at Open Range Grill and Tavern tonight! My wife and I sat at the bar and were taken care of by Victor, and he absolutely made the experience even better. Super friendly, attentive, and had a great attitude the entire time. My wife and I both had the Oak Creek Amber beers which were ice cold and perfect, and my son and daughter-in-law enjoyed the mocktails -- they were delicious and well made. Everything was reasonably priced, the atmosphere was great, and the service was top notch. You can tell this place cares about creating a good experience from start to finish. Walked in on a Wednesday evening at 7pm with no reservation in a group of 20 people. Split us up in 3 tables but that was fine. Food: Steak - presentation left a lot to be desire but it tasted way better than it looked. Great tasting sear on the steak. So much butter on the potatoes though. Old fashioned - pretty standard. Pretty good with the steak. Service: Good. Food didn't take too long especially considering a big group like ours ordered at the same time. Ambiance: The view was absolutely spectacular. Ate today at the open range grill and tavern. I we were not disappointed as the food was great. We had the bison and the beast burgers. Both were well prepared and very tasty. The beast burger had great flavor and the mixture of meats made every bite even tastier and the garlic alioli put it over the top. The bison burger was lean and lived up to its billing and it toppings only added to the taste delight. The servings was attentive and the view of scenery outside was beautiful. When in Sedona again I'll definitely try my next meal at the Open Range Grill and Tavern will be enjoyed. read more

Went about an hour before closing with my grandson and his family. I had the spicy chicken sandwich which was a thin patty of white chicken with a crust. The chicken was very spicy, and other than the spice the chicken had no flavor and was tough. My grandson ordered nachos and a burger, the nachos were okay but we've had better, and he said the hamburger tasted like it had marinara sauce on it--he didn't like it. Like they say, fantastic burgers, grilled to your desired taste - medium and medium rare were excellent choices for a juicy burger. Onion rings were the frozen kind and the fries were ok. Ranch and chicken tenders received seal of approval from the little one. Kids menu had great choices. Cookie was hard, would have nicer to be a little softer. Drink options were plentiful. Solid local spot in downtown Sedona. The ratings aren't high compared to other places however we were glad to eat here after seeing the menu and it was in the area where we were shopping. The communication was off and I had to ask my party if I wasn't being clear with my questions. Anyway. Turned out fine though I never got an answer and don't know why he didn't go ASK where the desserts were from. The mushroom grilled cheese order is two full sandwiches cut in half and a cup of soup, therefore I shared it with my MiL and ordered my own chili. Now the chili is described as 'fresh ground prime rib'. It was hamburger and the consistency was watery. Big disappointment for the $10 for just a cup, but that mushroom grilled cheese was great. I didn't try the tomato bisque. The highlight of the table was the pulled pork sandwich. It has such an amazing flavor. Too bad the coleslaw with it is tasteless. Cream- based, not vinegar. Total bill for 4 was about $110. I did have a margarita and husband had a draught. In-laws had water. The marg was blah for being $16. Our first night with late arrival into Sedona and we land here. The staff are very friendly and attentive- good selection is varied and delicious. We ordered Onions rings, chopped salad, prime rib chili and grilled mushroom and cheese sandwich which was HUGE AND SO GOOD! The chili Mac n cheese is soooo good. And a good portion. The chocolate volcano Carmel cake was a disappointing thing. Expensive and the cake was not flavorful. The caramel lava was not sweet and added very little to the dessert. Will not order it again. read more

The views are incredible! Alot of the shops offer 15% off this place. I really like how this place is dog friendly and they have a simple but cute dog menu. This place is busy, but never too busy to where there is a wait or no tables available. The food has been descent every time we eat here. I tried the carne asada last time, but it was not my favorite. It tasted over cook and no where near the taste of carne asada, but rather a very flavorless meat. I did try the grilled cheese and mushroom sandwich, which comes with a small cup of tomato soup. That was an amazing, super cheesy sandwich, and the tomato soup was tasted perfect and creamy. I highly recommend the grilled cheese and mushroom sandwich. Service was great, views are great, my pup enjoys eating here every time. The only thing I didn't like was the carne asada and the items seem a bit over priced, but it's because this restaurant is in the heart of the tourist area. read more

Great location in Sedona for a casual meal. The staff is super friendly and they have indoor and outdoor dining. The outdoor patio is covered with plenty of circulating air and has the most exquisite views to enjoy while you're eating. The menu is got a decent variety on it. Everything from salads to steaks. The guacamole appetizer was very good and I had a chicken chimichanga that was massive. Certainly can't complain about the portions. Prices are on par with the rest of the area. The atmosphere was chaotic due to the maximized seating. We were seated in a corner, and I initially thought the small door leading to the left side of the restaurant was blocked off--but it wasn't. Servers and customers constantly walked behind me, bumping into my chair. The experience could have been much better if the restaurant hadn't been so greedy for space. 3.5 stars sounds about right. We came here because we were cold and hungry, and walked by this place that didn't seem to have too much of a wait. My husband and I both got seasonal specials. He got the seasonal salad and I got the pork belly ramen. My kids all got the kids meals, which were big portions that come in a tray with carrot sticks, orange, fries, a cookie and a drink. Fantastic cowboy steak. Sometimes you get lucky and misorder a drink. The bourbon mule error was fortuitous. Glad our server said I couldn't change it. The view was amazing.
