This is the first time I've ever been impressed with a restaurant or employee that I have taken the time to get on the up and actually do a review, because I was impressed with the service and food both but mainly the service. I wasn't staying at the hotel, and I wasn't dining in, I was just picking up a couple of desserts is it to go order. I'm in heart failure which makes it difficult for me to walk distances, and while they don't have an actual curbside option for the pickup orders, the young lady that took my order, Peri, took the time out of her day to not only bring me my order to my car, she also took my payment inside for me. If you don't have to deal with the shortness of breath I get, there is no way to describe just how grateful I am that she did this. Having formerly worked in the service industry, I already have an incredibly high standard and she blew that standard out of the water today. Some others of you may not agree with this, given how out of hand The tipping culture has become, but I have to say this is one of those services that you have to tip on and always be one of those services that you tip well on. Extremely understaffed for a Thursday night to the point they were on a wait with only 8 -10 tables seated and bar seating not even open. Waitress was only on her second night and did her absolute best but clearly had not been trained to be able to answer questions. Chicken sandwich was two chicken tenders and I am not even sure they were fried in house- as they tasted microwaved and were cold as could be. The Nashville hot for an extra $1 was absolutely disgusting - not hot but very sweet but I can't even quite describe it. We will never be back. read more

It's cafeteria food at best. Smallish, over priced, portions and nothing felt like it was "fresh". The atmosphere was stale and the decor seemed like it was frozen in time 30 years ago, the whole place just seemed tired. The excellent service is why it has any stars at all. Got there 4:00 and figured we beat the rush. Apparently I was wrong. The place was EMPTY and we got seated right away. It went down hill from there finally after watching 3 employees argue over something, two of which walked pass without even a nod. Nobody stopped by the table. We just went here for drinks as the veggie options were almost non-existent. The service was very good both times. Our server James was attentive and courteous. The Mango drink I ordered was too sweet. The next time we went, there was live music. The gentleman singing was great. I just wish I could remember his name so when he becomes famous I could say I saw him back when he was an unknown. The only negative: they close at 10 pm. When we arrived on the 2nd night at 9 pm the place was fairly deserted, but customers started coming in at 9:30 pm or so and the place was packed by 10 pm. It didn't matter as they were still closing. Such a pity with all of the business and nowhere else for the drinkers to go except back to the room or by the pool at the Inn. Gosh... The entertainment here was excellent. Really loved the service we got here and their responsiveness to a vegetarian request, although some cheesy broccoli & cream corn are not much of a dinner meal. The problem is our group got the meatloaf and it was not nice at all. The people who planned the event were very sad & disappointed. Most people said it was kind of like spam. Weirdly like pre-formed processed and out of a can. There was chicken too which was eh ok. The garlic mashed potatoes were ok The coleslaw was actually pretty good. Black beans ... No comment. Not sure why this place has such high reviews. We went here on a Sunday night(about 8:30) and this place was pretty dead. Maybe about five tables were there besides us. We had just drove into town from Memphis and decided to give this place a try since it had decent reviews. Plus it's down the street from the hotel we stayed at. The service was not so great. It was the kind of service you get when a waiter's shift is about to come to an end and they really don't care if they get a good tip out you. I ordered the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and potato salad as sides. My fiance ordered the "barbecued" brisket, potato salad and Mac n' Cheese. Let me start by saying we put our order in and literally 5 minutes later our food came out. That sends a big RED flag! I know restaurants cut corners with some things, but this is ridiculous.Obviously this food was prepared way before we got there! The fried chicken was okay, the potato salad was decent and the mashed potatoes was the best thing on my plate. I tasted my fiance's brisket and it was edible. We are from Texas and know what real brisket tastes like and this is not it! If you are visiting from out of town, unfortunately the restaurants on Music Circle are limited but don't waste your money on this place! The quality of food and service is not worth it! read more

Went for lunch. Only 3 other small tables. The waiter was kind enough. Food was slow. And one of our meals did not come with the others and took another 45 minutes. This is a fun looking restaurant that will probably get better with time. My husband said he thinks it is more about the environment and less about the food. We asked the shuttle driver at our hotel about this restaurant and she said hotel guests have told her that it was good but that the portions were small and that people said it wasn't worth the money for the amount of food you get. We actually appreciated that it wasn't a huge amount of food- we didn't leave feeling over-full, which was refreshing. It's located inside the Radisson hotel but I think it is owned by Gaylord Opryland (hence the name). :) It is a convenient walk from the Opryland Hotel. As you walk in, it has a cute gift shop area with a lot of things I liked- clever and unique gift items. Our server was very honest and when we asked questions about things on the menu she often would say "I wouldn't recommend that" (such as pigs n' peanuts and the chocolate gravy dessert) and explain why. We really appreciated that though it did strike us as a little strange. She also told us the things that were known to be good and that she liked, and that was helpful. She said they are adding fried green tomatoes to their menu this weekend, which sound good. She really seemed to know the menu well and we were impressed with that. The young man who brought our meal and dessert out was especially pleasant and friendly. It seemed like a long time to wait for our meal. I had the deviled egg salad BLT. It was pretty good. The bacon on the sandwich was different (and there wasn't much of it) and I'm not sure if it was real bacon. The flavor of the egg salad was good. The plate was very hot, the bread was dry and kind of cold and the egg salad was almost all on one half of the sandwich. The waffle fries were awesome, kind of like Chick-Fil-A, and I asked for some barbecue sauce on the side instead of ketchup and that made them delicious! The barbecue sauce was very tasty. My husband had the beef and cheese open face sandwich. He ended up using much of my side of barbecue sauce to add to his sandwich and he said it made it tons better- he enjoyed it and wanted me to make sure I suggest in my review that you add barbecue sauce to this sandwich. They said they had a new dessert item- chocolate almond cake. It wasn't like what we were expecting but it was very good and came with a big scoop of whipped cream which made it even better. Some of the servers sing on a little stage in the restaurant and we also heard a small band that was good. Other times they play videos from the Grand Ole Opry from different times in its history. Overall it was a pretty good experience but seemed to be lacking energy. Hopefully with some time and continued improvements it will be a "happening" place! read more

The reason we tried it was because it was on a night when we did not feel like going anywhere, as we were staying at the hotel for a convention. All the food we ordered was great ! I ordered take out because the prices are more reasonable than other places nearby. The appetizer sampler was delicious, and had enough food for two meals. The deviled eggs and fried green tomatoes were my favorite. The wings were juicy and the Memphis sauce was sweet with a little spice. The brisket sliders were flavorful, as was the pimiento cheese. I will NEVER return here. You couldn't PAY me to come back. Had reservations at 5:30 for 10 people. They set two tables of 8 chairs each. Math is hard. My girlfriend and I were numbers 8 & 9 to show up. Since all the seats were filled, I just pulled a chair to the end of the table, which was IMMEDIATELY met by the wrath of Vicky the cafeteria monitor. I was told I was not allowed to do that and to go sit at the next table. I looked around to the empty restaurant (maybe one of two tables had people on the other side, but otherwise it was DESOLATE). Being that I was a +1 to my gal's work function, I didn't want to be the one to cause a scene and ruin their night. I merely sat silently by myself. Vicky asked if I wanted anything to drink which I replied "absolutely not". Eventually everyone squeezed down so all 10 of us could fit at one table. She kept getting snarky with us about how our reservation was at 6:30 but we showed up at 5:30 (the reservation was always set for 5:30), and about how we'd ordered more food than what they had even brought out yet. Food just kept coming (we'd all ordered appetizers to snack on). Half of us weren't even eating, but they kept bringing appetizers we hadn't even ordered. I wasn't part of the tab for them, but I have a feeling there was some discussion once we left. Vicky brought all the tickets, and my girlfriend had ordered a beer previously, but no ticket was brought. As we got up to leave, she ran over to us and said "Don't forget THIS!" and handed her the ticket. This lady has a chip on her shoulder and should be canned immediately. All the servers and (what I guess was) management all stood around up front talking all night. This place was dead, and should have been really catering to a large party that were essentially their ONLY guests. I didn't eat any food because I was furious during the whole visit. I give this place a high rating for their damn good southern food. I've enjoyed it a couple times before. Unfortunately I've started a healthy diet and had to resist today. (I think I might die). They really don't have any healthy options aside from salads, which is fine because this place features fried chicken, brisket and steak, and all the other delicious southern fixings, so that is what is to be expected. I had the chef salad with turkey, ham, tomato, hard boiled egg, and Swiss cheese. I was sorely disappointed that the meat was the cheap sliced sandwich deli meat you find at the grocery store. And I'm not sure what this "oil and vinegar" dressing is. I thought they'd bring out a bottle of vinegar and a bottle of oil, but it's some concoction that doesn't separate and doesn't really look like oil and vinegar. I was SOOO hesitant to get a salad cause you just never know at restaurants. They're usually cheap and pointless, but I guilt tripped myself into getting it. BIG MISTAKE. If you come here, give up trying to eat healthy cause you will live in regret until you return. I was absolutely impressed that the servers are musically talented and actually take turns performing on the small stage. And they're all REALLY good! This is just my review for today. Next time I come back in gonna go crazy and get the works. I'm sure my review will be much more positive. read more

I am so glad I did not go by some of the reviews for this place. Waitress was very good and make good recommendations. We started with the Fried green tomatoes. They were delicious! Hubby ordered the Trace Adkins Trio. The waitress warned him it was a lot of meat...he went for it anyway! I went with the recommended meatloaf...and was not disappointed! Our sides of Cole slaw, baked beans, roasted garlic mashed potatoes and the homemade soccatash were equally delish! We found this place because we were looking for a restaurant with singing waiters. It took a bit, but one of the waiters took the stage....and again, we were not disappointed! In between they play songs performed at The Grand Ole Opry....nice treat as well! Not really sure what the deal was with our server, Vicky, tonight. The restaurant was nearly empty (maybe two tables), and we had a reservation for 10 people. There were 7 party members seated at one table when I arrived. There was only one seat available at the table, so I sat there and my boyfriend pulled up a chair to sit at the end of the table. The server ran up immediately and grabbed the chair, telling him he needed to get up, that they can't have people sit in the aisles. Again, the restaurant was dead, we weren't near any other tables and had reservations for 10 people (not 8 like the table was set for.) We had to sit at the next table over awkwardly, away from our party, with peoples' backs turned toward us, until everyone tried to scoot down and make room for us at the main table. Seems like they could have at least turned the tables so that we were all in one long row, rather than sitting parallel. The rest of the night, Vicky's attitude remained dour. She heavily questioned the person who had made the reservations about why he'd made reservations for more people than we had, whether or not they were showing up at all, and how he'd changed the reservation times beforehand. Although this sounds normal for a large party, her tone was very accusatory and really uncalled for. It was really a bizarre treatment, especially considering we were all polite and low maintenance. How was the food? Dunno! I was so embarrassed by the treatment that I just focused on having a good time with my coworkers. read more

The waitstaff was friendly and efficient. They serve cornbread with butter before your meal comes which was good. We ordered a Mac N Cheese Burger & a Fried Chicken Salad. Both meals received two thumbs up. I would recommend the coleslaw as opposed to fries when it comes to the side! Unfortunately when we were here over lunch there wasn't a live performance going on but shortly before we left, one of the waiters, James, jumped up on stage and sang a couple songs A cappella! We came here on a Sunday for lunch, but it was pretty deserted. I didn't like the ambience in the restaurant. I can't put my finger on it, but it wasn't a good feeling and I thought about walking out. Service was pretty slow, but friendly, and the wait for food was even slower. There were only 4-5 other tables in here at the time, so the length of time for food didn't make sense. The mac and cheese burger was delicious, but waiting so long for two burgers was too upsetting, so we won't be back. read more

We had a wonderful lunch here last week. The burgers were delicious, tasted fresh and juicy. The service was excellent, friendly, fast and accurate. We enjoy the music clips they play of the Opry and miss the live performances of local artists. It's unfortunate to see them struggling during CoVid.
