I am a brand new patient here and it was my first visit the other day. This place is the best. The staff was friendly, offices were clean and they have a good selection of glasses. Dr. ANNE VALDEZ took her time examining my eyes and made sure everything was correct. She's definitely the best eye doctor I've ever had. Highly recommend making an appointment with her. She will take care of your eyes! After my eye exam I took the longest time picking out glasses. If I can give this optometry 6 out of 5 starts, I totally would! Right when I entered the office, I am instantly greeted by all of the staff. It was satisfying that they noticed me right away and anticipated my needs. Within minutes of confirming my appointment at the front desk, I was greeted by Dr. Valdez with a warm welcome and a big smile. Dr. Valdez is very knowledgeable, professional, and sweet. This is my second time at this location and it will be the only location I go to for my optometry needs. It was nice that they double checked my insurance prior to my arrival for a quick and hassle free experience. After being fitted with glasses and contacts, they gave me a goodie bag with eye care products and a $100 rebate form for my annual supply of contacts. Lastly, I received my glasses and contacts together on the same day within a few days of my appointment. I was actually surprised on how quickly they arrived when I received a text from them. Dr Nguyen saved my vision! I thought that I needed a new prescription, but my field of vision exam indicated a neural problem. He immediately called my retinal specialist, they conferred and I was in his office the next day. Dr Nguyen suspected a pituitary tumor and after an MRI, it was confirmed. I was referred to a local neurosurgeon, who sent me to UCLA. I'm 4 weeks post- surgery and my vision has been restored. Thank you Dr Nguyen!!! read more

Dr. Lao was very good in answering questions and explaining the retinal imaging. He can be a little "rush-y" in the vision/eye chart exam. The ophthalmic assistant was not unpleasant nor unfriendly - but she was definitely not chummy either. She was all business and she ignored all my wisecracks which tends to be a habit of mine to help me relax in medical exam situations. Can't blame her - she'd probably heard all those eye chart jokes a thousand times before. I've been to high-priced clinics but this one takes the cake on items not covered by insurance. For example, retinal imaging was at least $10 more expensive than the last 'high-priced" clinic I went to. The quote for the lens alone (minus frame) was at least twice what I got the previous year from another "high-priced" clinic. I think it's Optic Gallery's location (Seven Hills) that's driving their prices. The opticians/optical assistants were very pleasant, friendly, and accommodating and were quite happy to give me a copy of my prescription and promised to e-mail me a copy of my retinal photo for my file. One clear advantage of this clinic - it's only about a mile from my house. Conclusion: I'd come here for my annual eye exams to avail myself of the doctor's expertise but I would buy my eyeglasses elsewhere. read more

This is the second year I've seen Dr. Cheung. She had a very caring attitude and took her time with my eye exam. She was very nice friendly and very eau to talk with about my vision situation. I didn't feel rushed at all during my eye exam. A great experience with Dr. Cheung. Candace helped me with getting my glasses. Candace had already preselected some glasses for me because she's helped me before. I really appreciated this but when sitting with her going over the choices of my glasses I decided to get sunglasses instead. Candace was very helpful in picking a couple of frames for me. Not too difficult because there wasn't much to choose from since I have a big head-I have to have larger frames. I only had two sunglasses frames to choose from. The choice was made super easy when I found out the price. One was $500+; the other about $160, though instance picked up most of the frame cost. For some off the other options I went with it cost a little more and was unnecessary, but I needed to use my health savings account dollars before they expired at the end of the year, though the $500 frame would have blown way past my savings dollars. I wish they would have more of a selection for people with larger heads. Like with me buying shoes, I have too look for what's available in my size first then pick from what's available, not chose like most people where they look for their style first then look for their size. Candace was very helpful and patient in going over the options my insurance covered. Another great experience at Optic gallery. read more

Been a customer of Optic Gallery for over 5 years now. Had my annual eye exam in mid-December 2016 and was advised by the doctor to change my contacts even though my prescription never changed and I was happy with the current lenses I was wearing. But since I trusted the Dr., I went with it plus they told me I would qualify for a rebate with the purchase of two boxes so I placed the order and went on my way. Few weeks later, I am unhappy with the contacts but I told that I am unable to exchange them as the box is opened already (understandable but still frustrating as I was steered to this particular brand). Then I am informed by the contacts manufacturer that I do not qualify for the rebate as my eye exam took place prior to 01/01/2017. So why would they push these contacts and rebate on me when they had to know that I was not eligible?? Present day - I am officially on my final pair of these crappy contacts and nearing a year since my last exam so I call to place an order for new contacts and after I am transferred between several customer service representatives, I am informed by the young lady (who never told me her name) that my insurance benefit for the new year is not eligible until 01/01/2018. So I inquired on my previous appointment and she verified that my last exam and order was mid-December 2016 but that I "already used my benefit in January." I explain that my ONLY concern is that I have been on my last pair of contacts for two weeks now and every time I mention the confusion in this situation, the only response I receive is: "you used your benefit in January of 2017." BUT MY EYE EXAM AND ORDER WAS PLACED IN MID DECEMBER - DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE?? So in my frustration, I get off the phone and contact my insurance provider only to find out that my insurance was not billed until almost 3 weeks after my exam. So here I am on my last pair of contacts, hoping to survive another 3 weeks when all she had to do was offer to contact the insurance on my behalf to verify or to offer me an emergency pair of contacts and they would have made a customer for life. Isn't that what a good customer service person would do? Instead, here I am wasting my time writing a negative review and looking for another eye doctor to take my business to... read more

Dr. Nguyen is a great dr., but because of many incidences with his staff, I won't be back. :( A message was left stating my contact lenses were ready and to make an appointment. I called to schedule but the girl said an appointment is unnecessary and to walk in at anytime. When I got there, they told me I needed to make an appointment. Wasted day and had to wait another week. I complained to one of the Dr. who was apologetic, said she would talk to her staff and if I needed to come in sooner they would accommodate. I called back days later and asked if I can come in 15 minutes earlier. The receptionist was rude, said "nope we are all booked, and we are all booked that same day too" with attitude. Didn't get my name, look up my records or find another day/time that's available for me to come in. The day of my appointment, the same girl who talked to me on the phone (braids, African American girl) and another girl (Asian, long hair in ponytail with fake eyelashes) were talking back and forth to each other on the phone gossiping. I felt uncomfortable as if it was high school and not a professional place of business. I noticed one of the patients whom she was helping made a scene in the lobby because of the service. When the patient walked away, the girls continued to gossip back and forth. When I went to pay my bill, the same girl who helped me asked me if I was ordering contacts? Apparently the whole time I was there she had no clue as to what I was there for. I'll just go back to the one in Green Valley. Came here to get prescription sunglasses. The office is nice, clean and organized and they have a decent variety of frames to choose from. The customer service is excellent. ADAM was very helpful and patient while I was picking out frames. He was also very informative and professional. I received my sunglasses about a week after getting fitted, which was earlier than was quoted. I was very happy with the sunglasses and will come back if I need another pair of eyewear.
